The sea is a balm for the soul, where we can leave the information age and reconnect with nature. Escape to this tranquil waterfront oasis only 70 miles from NYC in Mastic Beach! Come by yourself or bring the family and/or close friends to this just renovated home on stilts with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The home sleeps 7 comfortably: the master bedroom and a second bedroom both come with queen-size beds and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a trundle option that can sleep three. There is a separate den with a queen size pull out couch for last minute guests. The open and expansive living, dining and kitchen area is great for spending time together enjoying cooking, entertaining and the never-ending water views. Kayak to the isolated part of Fire Island and swim its pristine water. Get fresh oysters delivered from our neighbor that owns Violet Cove Oysters.
There are endless trails for hiking and bird watching in the nearby 600 acre William Floyd estate. There are fishing options all around the house and Smith Point is perfect for surf casting. Mastic Beach is a small town with a great old school Italian restaurant, an amazing butcher and two great bait and tackle shops. A short drive to Mastic Seafood will get you the highest quality and largest selection of seafood around. If you are planning a more upscale dinner, restaurants in Bellport, Patchogue, or East Moriches are great options.
The house is available year round and makes a great fall retreat or winter getaway.

This home has everything you need for a great getaway with incredible views of the water and plenty of birds. The home is very comfortable and equipped for whatever you might need. The host was amazing as well!
Views, views and more views! If this is what you look for in a vacation, this is your spot! Updated, spacious and easy to use kitchen, ample dining and communal space plus comfortable bedrooms, and a/c make this a real winner. Constant ocean breezes and sea birds - our indoor cats were beyond themselves with all the windows. For privacy would have liked a curtain on the picture window in the main space and in the master bedroom's main windows (would also save on energy costs on bright sunny days). We liked the diversity at Smith Point beach (not as vanilla as the Hamptons) and the fact this area feels very local (not full of only summer vacationers). Note that there are fewer restaurants nearby (when compared to other vacation locales). The area is somewhat in transition (many vacancies on the main neighborhood drag) but major investment is planned in the near future. We felt comfortable and secure in the home, surrounded by year round residents. Would love to stay again and definitely recommend!
This home is lovely, spacious, and has amazing views from everywhere! We loved waking up to the wonderful bay breeze and seeing all the birds and wildlife. The house has wonderful open areas for cooking, dining, and hanging out. The bedrooms are comfortable and roomy, and the outside deck and grill area are perfect.
Smith Point beach is a great beach for walking and swimming -- it's close by and easy to get to.
Our host was easy to reach and available for any questions. We are going back again in August and cannot wait! We recommend this home to anyone who wants a quiet, spacious getaway.
Frank's house was extremely comfortable. The views are great and the house feels new and clean. My wife, 2 year old daughter and I traveled with another family and the living space had plenty of room for us to hang out and for the kids to play. Most importantly, Frank was very accessible and answered any questions that I had immediately at any time. Thanks!
We had a wonderful stay at this well-appointed vacation rental. The views are incredible and we enjoyed the quiet neighborhood with short drives to restaurants and the beach. The home is also very close to the Hamptons and we enjoyed driving all the way to the Montauk lighthouse. The beds were super comfortable and the house very clean. Itâs an older home but everything was well-maintained. There were plenty of towels and dishes. We were lucky to have great weather and enjoyed bonfires (with deer visiting!) and walks. Frank was very responsive and helpful. We also tried out a couple of the recommended restaurants (Painterâs and Onofrioâs), which were very good! Thank you for taking the time to make this house so welcoming. We had a wonderful time.
The property was everything I'd hoped for and was as described in the listing. The views are spectacular. The house is lovely and comfortable and well-outfitted. Frank was completely accessible and cordial. I highly recommend it!
We came here with our kids under 5 and the house and view were perfect for us. The kids had room to move and could run in the yard and loved the bunk beds/trundle. The enormous indoor beanbag was their favorite spot. And we spent our days watching the birds on the water (swans and ducks and geese) with a gorgeous view. Frank made everything very easy for us. Loved it!
The view is worth every penny. No need to leave with 180degree views of bay and wetlands. Lovely walks along the dirt perimeter roads. Close drive to the ocean.
The views from this property are spectacular and the proximity to Smith Point Beach Park can not be beat. The property itself reminded me of a cross between glamping and sleep away summer camp. The house was clean and well appointed with anything you could need but not "fancy/luxurious". Perfect location for a family/multiple families with kids or a dog. My very well-behaved small-ish dog was welcome. The homes had dog bowls and a dog bed. The owner was also especially responsive and kind when a slight mix-up of my dates resulting in us showing up a day too early. A very unique property not to be missed! Couple things to note - The yard is not fenced so you can not let a pet run free, especially if you have a dog that likes to chase cats and deer (like mine) as you will frequently see squirrels, deer and neighborhood kitties. Also, in the summer/warmer months pack the bug spray. While there is neighborhood spraying of citronella, given the proximity to the water, there is pooling on some of the pathways that makes mosquitoes very prevalent and hungry!
This home has amazing views, is beautifully decorated, has a well stocked kitchen, great outdoor space, and is a very relaxing place to spend time with family. We enjoyed nights around the fire. Dinner on the deck. Coffee on the lookout. Paddling on the bay.
Paddle 3/4 of a mile across the water and you can access a nearly private section of Smith Point beach with no one in sight for miles. Teens enjoyed the energy of the crowds at the main beach only a few miles drive away.
Frank was an excellent host. Very responsive and extremely easy to coordinate with. Pictures of of the home online are great. In person, even better.
If you are not familiar with Long Island, do some homework on the surrounding area. If shopping and restaurants are your thing, be prepared to drive.
