The property was in a dismal state: curtain panels were torn and missing, the kitchen was filthy with a grimy refrigerator and freezer, and every drawer was filled with hair and dirt. The house was covered in dust and really old spider webs, clearly neglected for a long time.
I reported these issues to the host, including a broken jacuzzi and shower, and another bathroom that was unusable at night due to a broken light bulb and towel handle. The host's response was shockingly dismissive and rude. He denied the problems and demanded that I leave the house in good condition, showing no intention to address the issues. The situation escalated when the host arrived unannounced with cleaning staff, who acknowledged the need for deep cleaning. However, the host became confrontational, accusing me of having unrealistically standards and even threatening me with additional cleaning fees. Feeling unsafe and uncomfortable, especially with the host staying on the same property, my husband and I decided to leave two days early. The cleaning staff could only manage to partially clean the kitchen, highlighting the extent of neglect. The host's behavior remained unprofessional throughout, and he continued to send negative messages after our departure. Nobody deserves to be disrespected this way. I travel a lot and had never an experience like this host. It serves as a warning about the importance of proper maintenance and respectful host-guest interactions in the hospitality industry.
