Just returned from staying at Casa Canaan. Total of 15 guests and there was plenty of room for everyone. I went through all the reviews prior to booking and I can confirm all are true and accurate. Owner was easy and pleasant to deal with. Shops and restaurants are w/in 10-15 minutes taxi drive. Water in beach was very warm (July), which seems like a local favorite but never felt crowded. Property's entire staff was the best.
A most wonderful week in such a beautiful place! The house was beyond what we expected and so beautiful with perfect views!! The staff are so very friendly, helpful and efficient and they were part of our love of the place! Canât think of anything that was missing for a perfectly wonderful week! The owner was so helpful in securing transportation when we needed it and making reservations for some great restaurants and activities! A perfect week for my family!
We had a fantastic time. The staff was amazing. They took care of all 27 people in the house. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. I would highly recommend this property to others.
Gorgeous view and outside space. The house is very clean with plenty of room for a large group. The house staff and chef were amazing and accommodating. The 8 large rooms had comfortable beds plus extra twins if needed. We felt spoiled with daily cleaning. We appreciate the ability to call for rides and massages. Thank you!
Our family of 15 had a wonderful week at Casa Canaan. The property was beautiful and just as described. We found the location great, it was a short distance out of the hustle and bustle of the main city, but close enough to easily Uber into town to see the sites. We really enjoyed the beach and loved that we were so close to the ocean. It was a great place for a family vacation, with all ages able to appreciate different aspects of the property. The staff was great and the food was awesome! We would definitely recommend this for a family gathering in the future.
Wonderful staff at this âcasaâ in an area along the beach near punta Negra. The casa is actually on two levels above another casa with the same owner. You walk down a sort of driveway down to a gate where you step out onto the beach. There are many boogy boards and four or five kayaks to use for water fun. All the food we were served was delicious.
We had the most amazing 7 day stay with large family group ages 3-85. The staff of 5 took such good care of us. Everyone said they really made the trip. Our 2 chefs made the most delicious lunch and dinner every day. The other 3 made sure the house was always clean and in tip top shape. The owner was very attentive and went above and beyond to make our trip special. Booked us transportation to and from the airport with a stop in town to shop and eat at local restaurant. Had in home massages which were wonderful. I asked for some cultural activity for the kids and he had a local piñata maker come to the house with all of the stuff required to make piñatas. The kids (and adults) loved making the piñatas and destroying them:) The beach access was wonderful and house came with chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and boogie boards. Beach was very nice, kids loved looking for cool rocks and shells. Would absolutely come back and 10/10 recommend this place. Pictures don't do it justice. Food cost and tip not included in booking price but even with that included place was more affordable then all inclusive and with way more personalized attention and privacy. Thank you Blair for a wonderful vacation. We all came back feeling truly relaxed.
The property was actually nicer than we expected from the photos. The property manager was gracious and responsive to our questions and needs. The staff was friendly and very professional. Our extended family of 15 were very comfortable and had a great week. We could not have asked for more!
A wonderful week with the Family in Puerto Vallarta
This was the first time that our family has traveled together to vacation like this. There were 20 of us! We had three brothers with their spouses and children along with Grandma & Grandpa; in total there were 20 of us with ages ranging from 8 to 69! From the beginning the Villa was mind blowing. The views are spectacular! The staff was exceptional & made is feel right at home. It was so nice for all of the adults to have their own rooms with en-suiteâs for each room. The finishes throughout the home are beautiful & high end. The indoor/outdoor living is something that you would love & expect in this setting. There were beautiful sunsets viewed directly from the various balconies throughout the Villa and the beach that is accessed from a private gate is beautiful & safe for kids of all ages. We will be back again!
The staff was amazing! Friendly, attentive and great food and drinks prepared for us! Blair responded to emails and needs throughout our stay quickly. The house is great for large groups for meals and the deck area has plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Overall awesome week and we WILL be back!
Such a wonderful stay at Casa Canaan! Thank you Blair, Jose, Edgar, Yule, and Carmen you made our week unforgettable we had 23 of us in this amazing house and we all felt like we had plenty of room to ourselves. The food was incredible , Blair was so helpful with anything we needed. We felt very safe, loved the location and could not wait to get in bed at night to get lulled to sleep by the crashing waves. I highly recommend this amazing house and staff - thank you for having us. Cannot wait to come back one day
We were here to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday with 10 adults and 5 grandchildren ages 1-6. Everything was as advertised...Great space, great food, great service. The location 15 minutes to central PV was convenient as well as more private and quiet.
The quality of the home is excellent and being a home builder myself well appreciated.
One of the most important features was that the pool could be blocked off from the toddlers when it was not in use,
The house is real luxury and the family all had a fun and relaxing vacation,Thanks Blair and staff
This is our second time staying on the "compound". There are three rental properties, all fantastic and gated in the same location. All three have their own gated beach access and are very private. We previously stayed at Casa Macumba which was fantastic. Casa Macuba was full this time to we spoke with the owner (Blair, who is fantastic) and he recommended we stay at Casa Canaan which was just recently built. Blair owns and runs all three properties and does not spare any expense.
The place has ample boogie boards, sea kayaks, life vests, beach chairs, etc. We were a little worried it couldn't replicate Casa Macaumba but we liked it even better. The bedrooms were newer and more spacious, the interior was nicer, bathrooms were amazing and the living areas were nicer as well. The views are awesome because the pool deck and lounge area is 20-30' off the ground. The only thing it doesn't have that Macumba has is the outdoor lawn space but we thought it was more than made up for with its other amenities. You can easily sleep 8 couples or like us, 4 couples and 9 kids. It was our kids favorite place we've ever stayed in Mexico. The beach is phenomenal, a private boat will come pick you up at the beach (Chabba is the boat captain and is a local to Mislamoya and knows every private beach, bar/restaurant, place to cliff jump, etc. up the coast line) it is a must do for one day. The Staff was just as good as it was at Macumba. Jose was one of the best chef's (if not the best) we've ever had in Mexico and will cook whatever you want. Jose has a lot of favorites he'll recommend, best to follow his lead but our favorite was his Mahi Mahi. The rest of the staff was phenomenal too (cleaning, laundry, setting up and cleaning up beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers with drinks, etc.). You don't have to lift a finger once you show up and they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We will definitely be coming back and will ask for Casa Canaan.
The villa in PV was amazing. We take an annual family vacation every year and this was the first time we actually had staff on hand for daily cleanings, meal prep or anything we needed. It was an absolute game changer! Chef Jose and his assistant Armando were the absolute best. He prepared meals for us that were delicious. The housekeeping ladies were courteous and very friendly. The beach right outside the villa was safe for swimming, the beds were comfortable all the bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed. All my family members, there were 12 of us, thoroughly enjoyed the villa and would love to return.
We selected Puerto Vallarta for our annual family summer vacation this year--us, our adult children and spouses, our adult niece and our 5 grandchildren--13 in total. This has been an annual tradition, and we have typically found great houses in beautiful locales on VRBO each year. Casa Canaan scored 5 stars for us in every single category! The listing is accurate, and as another review made clear, the real thing is better than the listing and the photos. Blair has built and oversees a perfect small, upscale villa complex of a few beautiful properties located on an idyllic beach, which was never crowded. Each villa has a dediated staff--ours had a terrific chef, Jose, his great assistant Edgar, and a wonderful team of housekeepers and a groundskeeper. They displayed 5 star hospitality in every respect. Each meal we selected turned out better than we imagined. The service, the preparation and the taste were all fantastic. The team is dedicated to making the week great--with little to care about other than enjoying the stay. The villa is exceptional--upscale, new, immaculate and beautiful finishes, furnishings and nice designer touches throughout. Blair is a terrific and helpful host--he is always nearby but never in your way. when we wanted to go into the town of Puerto Vallarta, Blair always made it easy for us, as well as booking banana boats, massages and other requested services. We have stayed at some beautiful and unique properties, but our family rated this the best ever for us. We plan to be back for a repeat visit in coming years!
In the past we have always gone the all inclusive resort route for our yearly vacations. We often invited family to join us but they never did. We thought if perhaps we rented a house that maybe we could more persuade them to come along. I started researching homes literally three years ago (pre-pandemic). Blairâs (the ownerâs) newest property (Casa Canaan) was non existent at time. Due to the pandemic our house rental plans were put on hold. In the meantime, I tirelessly researched every single home large enough to accommodate our family for the past three years. I looked at every single photo, read every single description as well as every single review. I was always drawn back to Blairâs properties (Casa Milagro and Casa Macumba). Fast forward three years and we finally decided to proceed with our house rental family vacation plans and I messaged Blair. He promptly responded. After several back and forth messages containing many questions we finally booked our stay. I was actually planning on renting Casa Macumba, but Blair encouraged me to look into Casa Canaan. I am happy I did. Our family (22 total, 11 adults and 11children) just returned from our stay at Casa Canaan and we are missing it terribly. The staff was phenomenal. The cleaning crew was so very quick and efficient that you would never know 22 people were there. My husband and I woke up every morning to prepare breakfast for everyone and when we returned to our room it had already been tidied and our laundry was clean and folded in a bag on the bed. The kitchen staff was beyond. They grocery shopped for us, cleaned up our daily breakfast mess, and prepared delicious lunches/dinners/snacks/drinks. They were accommodating of the various special diets, likes, dislikes, allergies, things we wanted to celebrate (kidsâ birthdays, father-in-law beating cancer). Blair assisted with restaurant and excursion reservations, and either he or the house staff assisted with taxi reservations. The only minor snafu was the initial transportation to the house upon our arrival - we were accidentally forgotten about. However Blair was quick to rectify the situation and even called the house to apologize - although once we were en route to the house it was already a distant memory. Thanks so very much, Blair, for opening your home up to us and allowing us to have the opportunity to experience our long awaited family vacation. We all truly enjoyed ourselves and hope to return in the near future.
We are still on emotional high from our stay at Casa Canaan. We had booked the property back in November 2021 and could not wait to stay at this location and be together- we did a family reunion with folks from California, Oregon, and Washington. There were 19 people and a 5 month old- 4 older folks, 10 adults, a 20 year old, two teens , and an 11 year old and 7 year old. There was enough space for all of us whether we wanted to be alone or together.
The staff was AMAZING! If you wanted paddle boards for the day or beach chairs and umbrellas, it was ready for you when asked. Antonio always delivered. They cleaned the pool daily. We also worked with Jose and Edgar on daily meal plans . They were able to make items that were not on the menu (we asked for mainly authentic Mexican dishes) and they always made everything spectacular. Jose would also provide daily receipts of the items he bought which was so nice because we knew we were getting the items at cost. The laundry service was done daily M-Th so donât overpack unless you do something thatâs not on the beach or in the water. Martha and Lulu were always there each morning working to get the house cleaned and ready for us every day.
The beach access was down a pathway and to a locked gate. Itâs hard to picture it based on the photos but just trust that the description is real.
Our week went by really fast- we definitely want to book this house again or the ones that are adjacent to the property.
We have stayed at all inclusive resorts and have done other parts of Mexico but having a private staff just for you house and the people in it is what made the difference especially with that big of a group. Youâre not trying to find one another in a large hotel or asking for a large table so you can all sit together or trying to find a restaurant to book for a large group of you. The cost of food for the 20 of us for lunch and dinner with margaritas and tiger beverages was approximately $275 a day so make sure you bring enough cash for your party . We also collected a generous tip for the 5 staff members that you give at the end of your stay so bring enough cash for that.
I posted some photos on Facebook and instagram and in my post I had told people to DM me if they were interested in this property and I had sent links to 10 people just with my Facebook post. It took me awhile to write this review because we were all coming down from a high from being here. đ
We stayed for a glorious week at Casa Canaan with our three children, their spouses and our eight grandchildren. Even with a total of 16 guests, the casa was spacious and very comfortable. The living/eating area of the house is incredible and includes a huge deck with an amazing ocean view. All bedrooms are large with en suite bathrooms, and most include private decks. The pool located on the main deck is surrounded with a plexiglass fence, rendering it visible yet safe for small grandchildren. The beautiful beach (one of the best in Puerto Vallarta) is just steps away and was virtually empty during our entire visit.
The staff was responsive to our every need during our stay. Jose, our chef, prepared unbelievable world class meals. His assistant Edgar crafted delicious mixed drinks for the adults and was a pleasant and patient server during meal time, even when faced with a table of six small children between the ages of 3 and 6. Marta and Lulu provided stellar housekeeping and laundry service, while Tony always made sure that beach furniture and toys available and the pool was ready for frolicking. Last but not least, owner Blair was an extreme help in planning the vacation, from scheduling rides to and from the airport to pointing us in the direction of the best daytime excursions in Puerto Vallarta.
All in all, this was the family vacation of a lifetime!!!
Casa Canaan was absolutely amazing. The pictures for the house were amazing to begin with, but to experience the house is simply on another level. We had 16 people staying (4 family units) and there was ample space for us all to hang out together, but also find time to be alone. The bedrooms are all great - with 5 master suites facing water front, and 3 additional suites which are all beautiful - no one will complain about not getting a great bedroom. All rooms have their own bathrooms, with many of the bathrooms being so large and spacious we couldn't even believe it.
The space has direct beach access, although not directly off the pool area as his other locations have, but this was not a deterrent for the experience at all. They have kayaks, boogie boards, paddleboards, chairs, umbrellas, etc right at the gate to the beach all for your group to use - and we did use them quite a bit.
Now - if that wasn't enough, the staff will blow your mind. Jose and Edgar's service and food was better than our dining out experiences. Once you eat with them you will question going out. Edgar keeps the drinks rolling for you as well. Antonio is the houseman and he is so helpful with beach set up, making sure you have everything you need form towels at the pool, that the pool is cleaned daily, and that all the maintenace at the house is done quickly. Alejendra the housekeeper keeps everything pristine and fresh - and I won't ruin the surprise but she made us smile every day with her creations :)
Highly recommend
Casa Canaan was an amazing experience for our family. We travelled with 8 adults, a three year old, and 3 children under 2. Casa Canaan is brand new, and it feels like it. We were only the fourth group to stay there and everything is fresh and modern. Individual Wifi hubs in every room, commercial grade kitchen, every amenity that you can think of. The layout works well for kids taking naps since everyone can still congregate in the main room.
I have stayed in half a dozen or so all-inclusive resorts in my life and the rooms in Casa Canaan were easily better than any of them. Some of the rooms have en-suite washrooms bigger than most master bedrooms. Some of the showers open directly to the sunset and man... it's an experience. Luxury all the way.
Although not directly on the beach, it's an easy walk. Casa Canaan is part of a complex which include two other rental units. They are all inside the gated complex and all you have to do is walk out of your front door down a driveway to the beach. The ad lists it as a minute walk but it's less. They do keep chairs and umbrellas down at the gate to the beach so you dont have to pack anything down. The beach itself is phenomenal. Truly great for swimming and body surfing.
The staff who clean the rooms and the unit are very attentive to details. We didn't actually interact with them too much as they are very busy and we didn't want to interfere. Basically they scrub down every floor, sink, handrail. and fixture every single day. The only thing we didn't see them do was wash the lightbulbs. Very immaculate accommodation. But let me tell you about the kitchen staff. Hoo Boy. Jose steals the show. They give you a very comprehensive menu and there isn't a thing on there that Jose can't razzle dazzle. Delicious food with beautiful garnishes. You give the Chef money each day for buying groceries and he does give you back receipts so you know exactly what is being bought. They will also buy any other items you need like sunscreen and diapers etc. so there's no need to leave the Villa for that. And Edgar (the kitchen assistant) was delightful company. Aside from working in the kitchen he would serve the table at mealtimes, bartend and bring us drinks poolside, and on one special occasion babysat a 9 month old so the two parents could finally enjoy eating a meal at the same time. Above and beyond service.
There is so much more I could say but I needn't. If you're shopping different Villa's, book this one.

I love Mexico, itÂŽs people, the culture, the language, the cuisine and itÂŽs extraordinary natural surroundings. I have been coming to Mexico with my family since I was 7 years old when my father rented a camper and we drove down to Baja and stayed on the beach in Ensenada, San Felipe and Rosarito.
Its close to town, but far enough away to feel your surrounded by nature. The beach is the best in Puerto Vallarta. There is no drop off, under currents or big boulders so its safe for small children and elders. ItÂŽs also the longest beach on the south shore so its great for walking and running. There are no hotels or timeshare resorts on our beach, only villas and full ownership condominiums.
Casa Canaan is a 6 minutes boat ride to Los Arcos Ecological Underwater reserve and our charter boats can pick your family up on the sandy beach, right infront of the villa. ItÂŽs only 3.5 miles to charming Old Town Puerto Vallarta with itÂŽs many world class gourmet restaurants. The airport and the closest golf course are 30 minutes away.
