This property is the perfect blend of close to town yet secluded. Our family had the best time at this beautiful cabin! Communication from host was excellent, and accommodations/amenities were wonderful! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful location and house!
We had a great vacation at the Blue River Chalet. Chris was an incredible host and the house and views were spectacular! This was my first time staying outside of downtown Breckinridge and hopefully we’ll be able to stay here again during our next visit! You definitely need 4WD and back into the driveway!

Beautiful mountain lodge
My family of 6 adults stayed for a week of skiing at Breckenridge, remote working and just enjoying the beautiful Colorado Rockies. The lodge was exactly as pictured, wonderfully clean and so cozy! We had very cold weather and snow daily, so the fireplace got plenty of use as did the hot tub. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen, which we used to prepare several meals, was very well equipped and lovely. The ski room in the garage was perfect to stow all of our gear and the large bench in the adjoining space (with about a dozen generously-sized coat hooks above it) was invaluable. We were very glad we rented 4x4 vehicles as the driveway and mountain roads into Breck were sketchy at times with all of the snow we received, but hey, it’s the Rockies! Big thanks to the owners for sharing their beautiful piece of mountain heaven. We will be back!!!

Cozy cabin & great location!
Chris was super helpful and responsive throughout the entire booking process and stay. The blue river chalet was perfect for our weekend ski trip to Breckenridge. Great location, only 10 minutes down the road from Main Street. The cabin was clean and cozy and we all enjoyed the hot tub after long ski days. Thanks so much!!

We stayed at the chalet from the 2/5 ~ 2/11/22.
Everything was amazing! This was the first time my husband, sister-in-law and myself had traveled to Colorado after postponing last years trip due to Covid being more rampant. The two others in our party had been to Breckenridge several years ago.
We loved that the chalet was only 13 minutes to downtown.
The house was clean, and comfortable. Chris and Sybil ( the owners) made sure there was coffee, spices, etc in the pantry.
The hot tub was awesome and brand new. We were the first to use! We highly recommend this house.
Thank you Chris for always answering any of my questions ( silly or not).

Excellent option for our group of 8 who wanted to enjoy Breckenridge, including skiing nearby.
Very nice cabin, with enough bedrooms and living space for our group of 8. Enjoyed cooking and grilling, as well as the hot tub. Excellent views and good location to Breckenridge. Would definitely consider staying again.

Great central Colorado Location
This property was a great location for exploring central Colorado. We took our 12 year old grandson here to explore the Colorado mountains and found the house to be a great location to visit Breckenridge and the rest of central Colorado.
The house was just as described. It was clean, well stocked and had everything we needed. The manager (owner) was excellent to communicate with and help with a few questions about the area.
The house is just 10 minutes from Breckenridge, giving you the feel of the outdoors, but close enough to be at a restaurant in town in 10 minutes.
I highly recommend this house and will use it again when coming back to the Breckenridge area.

Great House, Great Location
This house is great. If you're looking to take advantage of the Rockies, it's in a perfect location. The hot tub is phenomenal. The rooms are phenomenal. The room is modernized and everything is in great working order. Loved the fireplace which can be used both inside and outside.
The driveway is an issue. If you come here during the ski season, you will need 4WD. Not 2WD, not AWD. You will get stuck coming up the driveway if there is significant snowfall or ice. If you have 4WD you should be fine.
My group and I stayed for 30 days and we had a wonderful stay with minimal issues. Chris is accessible and was accommodating to our needs.

Regarding the appropriate vehicle for road conditions during winter in Colorado mountain towns, we always recommend 4WD (as you also suggest in your review). Trying to get by with a 2WD just isn't advisable, and an AWD without proper snow tires (as was the case with your guest) can also be a challenge in a storm. Our driveway is professionally plowed each time it snows (as are the main roads around Breckenridge) but that does not mean a 2WD car, or an AWD with summer tires, will necessarily be adequate. Even on the main roads and highways we have seen far too many cars sliding everywhere or in a ditch as they were trying to get to the airport in a winter storm with an inappropriate vehicle. If you are renting a vehicle for your winter vacation make sure to specifically request a 4WD, otherwise the rental agency may try to give you an AWD (rental AWDs typically do not have snow tires) which is not the same. And if you are bringing your own vehicle in the winter, make sure it is either 4WD or an AWD with snow tires. Your vacation will be much more enjoyable with the appropriate vehicle!

Couples mountain getaway - birthday celebration
We absolutely loved the cabin! The views are amazing! It was quite cozy. It was fully stocked with the kitchen necessities including high grade cookware, gas stove, and more. Games were provided for a fun night in. The beds were very comfy for sleeping in. It was perfect for our group of 4. Although the house will sleep 8, it would likely feel very crowded with more than 6. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Great Family Vacation
This house was amazing! We had everything we needed for a fun family vacation. The kitchen was fully stocked. There was even spices we could use. Which we appreciated since my husband loves to cook. He loved the gas oven in the kitchen. (Apparently we are buying a new one just like it.) There was a great kitchen table great for eating and playing games at night with the kids. The hot tub was so nice. It was great for relaxing after hitting the slopes all day. The beds are so comfortable that you will look forward to climbing in every night. There is a spacious garage for all your ski/snowboarding equipment with plenty of room to dry out your wet clothes every day. We enjoyed the family room on our day off, snuggled up on the couch together, watching Netflix. The owner is very responsive with any questions/concerns you might have. He always answered me within a few minutes of texting him. I would highly recommend this place for your next trip to Breckenridge.

Beautiful Ski Chalet in Colorado
So much to say about this wonderful property and it’s owners. Accommodating would be an understatement. We were the first group to stay at the property since it’s renovation & it was obvious that the owners thought of all the details. Bedrooms with the most comfortable & warm beds we have ever slept in when it comes to a rental property. Each bedroom includes a humidifier, floor heater, & speaker that plays nature sounds. A kitchen with new appliances and our favorite, the griddle!!! We also used the gas grill in the backyard to cook up a few meals for our group. Dining room facing the backyard so you can eat while looking at the beautiful mountains and trees. Living room with one of the most beautiful & warm two sided fire places I have ever come across. It also comes with a flat screen tv which we used to watch movies and sports. The necessary Hot Tub in the backyard overlooking the beautiful surrounding nature. We used it everyday after a long ski day & even caught a comet shower under the stars at night. It was setup for us when we arrived and easy to use. We were happy to find that there is a new washer/dryer on the property which came useful during our 2 week trip as we needed to wash our ski gear. This home can sleep 8-10 people comfortably. All together our group stayed at this home for 2 weeks, and can honestly say this is the most enjoyable rental we have ever experienced. More over the owners where very responsive with any questions/concerns we had and we’re going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and everything was working properly. I can’t recommend this location enough for anyone looking to ski in the winter or simply experience the beautiful surrounding nature. Thank you Chris & Sibyl and we can’t wait to come back again next winter!
