Beautiful home! It is so spacious, clean, comfortable and so many other things! It also had a well stocked kitchen and a very nice porch, that we sat on & watched the birds. Hosts were easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!! A
Everything was wonderful about this home. They thought of Everything to help make us comfortable. Beds were super comfy. Everything was clean. Plenty of kitchen ware. Neighborhood is peaceful. Neighbors were really nice. They gave the girls conch shells. I can see us coming back.
Well appointed standalone house close enough to the intercoastal waterway to get a little ocean air when there is a breeze. The 3BR house is large and clean. Good WiFi, easy check in, and covered parking if needed. The water seems to be from a well, so bring bottled water if hard water bothers you. My sure to do a morning on the large porch, itâs nice.
This is a well maintained property with all the necessary amenities. It is cozy and comfortable and the owners are down-to-earth, warm people. We wanted for nothing during our stay and the communication and instructions made arriving and leaving simple. Would highly recommend this house to anyone!
This was a great house for a weekend away for a baby shower and a little fishing. Brought our 10 1/2 month old and felt very safe with her there! Would definitely recommend.
Great location if you're bringing your boat. Hampstead traffic is horrible, so traveling Hwy 17 is strategic. Great house! Very roomy and the owners are very cordial and accomodating.
Home was extremely clean, comfy and not to far from the beach! Had all the basics that we needed for a long weekend there. Tammy was wonderful and called before hand to let us know to bring extra towels and some small issues she found at the house the day before (that didn't effect us at all and wouldn't have even noticed if she didn't mention it). Will definitely be saving this house for future stays!
Great open layout in house. Twin bed is just a mattress against the wall, not on a frame. Needs some attention to cleaning. Need vacuumed under furniture, bed side tables dirty, shower shelves need cleaned, bathroom floor, dust the nick knacks and trim. Owners were nice.
Water smell is atrocious! Smells like sulfur/ rotten eggs really gross!! We would not cook or brush our teeth with it!! There are many things we would like to say but Iâll leave it at that!!
The pictures do not necessarily do justice for this property! It is a beautiful home in a quite neighborhood near the water. When you walk in, youâll be taken back about how spacious the home is, how inviting the layout is, and how much the home has to offer. The master bedroom with the master bathroom attached and a walk in closet is a beautiful accommodation! Tammy and Todd were very responsive and helpful to any questions, comments, or concerns that I had throughout the duration of my stay. Ample amount of parking. A beautiful wrap around porch to enjoy cocktails on and two grills readily available for your grilling needs! For anybody visiting the Surf City to Wilmington area, this home is in prime location, being not too far away from the main highway of travel. For a party of six adults, this home sleeps everyone comfortably. A recommended stay!
I rented this place based on the price, I was not expecting much since this was my priority. (Get what you pay for right?) I cannot say enough about this home and hospitality of the owners. The beds were BEYOND comfortable. Quite home set back off of the road. The property was clean and spotless, very impressive. Although we could not see the intercoastal area due to large overgrown trees, we could feel the air and hear the boats in the distance which was a relaxing in itself. We spent most of our evenings on the wonderful wrap around deck. I cannot say enough about this place. We plan to rent this again and so does our family members who live in NC for other visitors. We did not need to bring anything, the home had almost everything we needed. It was perfect and I did not want to leave this cozy abode..My sister was able to put her boat in the water by our place which was 3 min down the road! Big plus for boaters..Thank you Tammy & Todd!
The Owner Tammy was super nice. The house was huge, very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The owner gave us heads up about the sulfur smell in the hot water and we just turned every faucet on when we arrived and let the hot water heater run out. Once it replenished everything was fine. We didn't have any issues with the sulfur smell the rest of the stay. The area was quiet. It only took us 15 minutes to get to Surf City/Topsail Beach where we played in the ocean, did a lot of shopping, and enjoyed plenty of good food and the best ice-cream/doughnuts/deserts with live music on an open deck at the Daily Doughnut Grind.
The Surf City Pier was awesome and the food was fresh seafood and very affordable.
The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital/Rescue Center offered tours, which was just one of our favorite moments. The guest book on the counter is a cute idea and I loved reading other guest's experiences and places they recommended in the area. I will definitely come again,
When starting this vacation, we were so excited. The road to the property was all gravel and filled with potholes. We get to the house the steps to the front door needs to be repaired. Once we are in the house it is very open and looks nice. But it doesn't have a jack and Jill bathroom. The guest rooms don't have anyplace to put your clothes, the closets were filled with construction material. The master bedroom window had a board covering it. The house was dirty, we contacted the owner about big bugs crawling around the kitchen and she said they were normal to the area, saying they were water bugs. The kitchen cabinet had spices from 2010 in them. We don't recommend this property, we won't be back. But if you do come here, bring towels and toilet paper with you. The towels looked like rags and not enough toilet paper to get us thru the night.
Plenty of blankets and beds are super comfy!! Could have used more towels and wash cloths. Water had a terrible smell but we wasnât there much to use it. Take bottled water for sure. Overall great house !
The house was great, and clean. Could have used some more linens and a few "necessities." The road is a bit rough as well. Overall, a good weekend spot, close to many things (within 30 minutes).
Great vicinity of family and friends gathering. Provided the right atmosphere and space to allow our coming and going to our family and friends event in Hempstead NC. A great and fantastic stay. Will utilize, visit and stay again. Thanks so much for the owners and host.
We are looking forward to retirement in a few years, so we can enjoy our home near the beach with friends and family. I am a Register Nurse, since 1992 and working at the same hospital (next year will be 30 years of employment). My spare time, I enjoy gardening and spending time with family. My husband is a truck driver, enjoys farming, riding horses and loves spending time with family, as well.
We purchased this property to be near the intercoastal waterway because we love boating, fishing, swimming and spending time with family. WE love this place because it is near the beach but not located in the areas of congested beach traveler's. (coming and going).
Very quiet neighborhood. Also, near Camp Lejeune for folks wanting to spend time with their military family. Only a few minutes away from Surf City and Topsail Islands if you enjoy spending time on the beach with family and friends.
