Historic, quintessential New England building, superbly restored and updated. Nothing was lacking. We very much enjoyed our three-night stay.

This is a real gem of a find! I loved our stay here. GPS does take you to the back of the building but it’s located next to a large parking lot. Plenty of parking which was great for us because we have an extended cab f350 ford that does not fit into most parking spaces. The other great thing about this house is multiple showers and bathrooms. This is so rare in a CT house. I must’ve searched for hours. The host Pam was super friendly and was so quick to respond. The house was super stocked with everything we needed and more. When you go in it just surprised us how modern and clean it was plenty of space for our larger group. They even surprised us with a welcome package and provided us with water. If this place is available don’t hesitate to book it. You will not be disappointed. I hope to be back next year as this is super close to stores, coffee, gas station and the Stafford speedway which was why we were there. Also convenient to get to bdl airport.

This place was perfect for our needs! It was about 5 minutes from the event we came for which was great. Seeing it was a new listing without any reviews I was slightly skeptical but traveling with a 5 year old, a hotel is always a struggle. This place was everything it was advertised and then some. Absolutely spacious, nicely decorated and plenty plenty plenty of little extras like snacks, toiletries, and a very nice and accommodating host! The furniture was all comfortable and good quality, nice decor you can tell they put some thought and time into it, did not seem like a rushed staging "just put some stuff in there" kind of place. The queen bed had a great tempurpedic mattress and the bedding was all very clean and comfortable. Plenty of futons and daybeds could easily accommodate a larger group if allowed. House is definitely very old and some antique charm, very old New England which I'm used to and like. The only downside is for a very small sleepy seeming town, this does seem to be a very busy intersection. We live out in the woods and are not used to all that traffic noise and the old windows do not put up a lot of resistance. We all slept very well though despite motorcycles and loud radios my daughter never woke up haha. Would absolutely recommend this place and Pam as a host! The twin bedroom had a nice sound machine as well and a fan so that definitely helped! Thanks for having us, very cool little town.

This is a beautiful historic home with a lot of character, and the owner was polite and responsive. However, guests should expect a very rustic property rather than a traditionally updated vacation rental.During our stay, we found evidence of mice on the kitchen countertop after one chewed through a granola bar wrapper and ate the contents. I threw away some of our food and notified the owner. They offered to reimburse us and said they would have the property treated. While I understand that pests can be an issue in homes of this age; evidence of mice on a food-preparation surface crossed a line for me.The home was generally clean but worn and dated. The windows and blinds were very dusty, the clean towels were stained, there were occasional small moths, and the home had an odor that seemed to be covered with a strong mint scent.The property was also difficult to locate. The listing does not show the front of the building, there are no visible building numbers, and Google Maps directs guests to a rear parking lot for the neighboring property. This also caused problems with food delivery.Overall, this felt more like rustic glamping with indoor plumbing. Guests who enjoy very old homes and are comfortable with their quirks may feel differently, but the condition, navigation issues, and possibility of pests are important to know before booking.

This is the first time we have encountered any reports of pest problems on our property, and we have properly treated the issue. We take great pride in maintaining the historic integrity of this home while providing updated comforts throughout, such as central air conditioning and additional units in every room, four state-of-the-art Roku smart TVs with check out dates allowing all streaming apps to automatically sign out, a tempurpedic mattress and thoughtful amenities like complimentary coffee and bottled water. For that reason, we don't feel "rustic glamping" accurately reflects the renovated accommodations our guests enjoy. We are also sorry you had difficulty locating the property. It can be a bit tricky. There are photos of the building and parking spaces in the listing to help. We do wish you shared your other concerns with us during your stay. We would have been happy to address anything within our control. We've been fortunate to welcome many wonderful guests who have loved their time in this one-of-a-kind home, and we appreciate all feedback as we continue improving the experience for future visitors.

Both Pam and her brother were wonderful to text/call with and whatever questions I had were quickly answered. I asked about a place to hang clothes and a clothes rack with new hangers were immediately there!! Luckily my husband and I are physically fit and had no problems with the very steep stairs up to the bedrooms and bathroom. We appreciated their kindness.

This was a great historic building, we really enjoyed the history it conveyed. There was plenty of room to spread out and it was very conveniently located to attractions in the area. A picture of the front of the building would have been helpful on the listing as we were mistakenly at the building next door.

This place was phenomenal and Pam was such a gracious host! I had let her know that it was my daughter‘s birthday and we were celebrating by going to Six Flags and with no extra cost she offered to do some decorating, which was absolutely heartwarming! Really appreciate every thing that she had done and what a beautiful place even bigger than I expected from the pictures
