À propos de cet hébergement
Meeteetse 3B/2B - Warm - Cozy - Great Views! - 6 Adults, Kids under 18
Extremely comfortable & private home in Meeteetse, just 30 miles south of Cody and the Yellowstone Regional Airport.
Stunning views from the DR and Patio. Effectively NO neighbors on any side or the back! Patio accesses 30' x40' fenced in back yard.
Lots of room.
The town is laid back and friendly, full of history & Fun! Explore the Shoshone National Forest, Sunshine Reservoirs and Kirwin Ghost Town. 2 Museums, Wildlife everywhere! Bullet Holes in the Cowboy Bar, Maybe from Butch Cassidy
Fabulous View and lots of privacy. Plenty of off-street parking for boats, campers or multiple cars. (parking at angle works best unless you need more for trailers, etc.)
This 3BR/2Ba home is over 1650 sf with lots of room for lounging and privacy.
The Master Suite boasts a separate efficiency kitchen (sink, hot plate, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator).
The kitchen is stocked for cooking and baking including basic spices....and, of course, COFFEE. Both full pot and K-cup Brewers. We offer 2 full size refrigerators if you want to stock up at the Wea Market and just hang out for a day or two.
Each bedroom has a ceiling fan. We don not have forced A/C and, actually, don't personally know anyone in town that does. The nights are cool and brisk and all windows are secured in various ways so you can leave them open......and often need a light blanket.
HOWEVER .... The few Hot days we do have are addressed in the MOST natural way.
Each BR has a personal Evaporative Air Cooler (better known as Swamp Cooler). You can fill the reservoir on these and you'll be amazed how the NATURAL cooling, combined with aforementioned cool night breezes will lull you to sleep.
There is a 'WHOLE HOUSE' Swamp Cooler off the Great Room. It is plumbed and needs no attention: simply on/high or low -or- off. It is not installed year-round.
We believe that natural Evaporative Cooling at our elevation and arid high desert air is MUCH healthier for you than typical air-conditioning. Bet you will agree!
My Husband grew up in SC and we both understand Heat & Humidity! (Why do you think we live here?) Often flatlanders (affectionate term) don't quite understand the difference 6,000 feet above sea level makes in temperature fluctuations.
But........you'll LOVE IT as you experience it.
Fall & Winter guests will LOVE the natural gas baseboard heat! Encompasses you with solid warmth....again, without that humidity to cut through all your layers of clothes.
The Elkhorn Bar has drive-thru liquor sales and there's off sale at The Cowboy.
There are games, books and magazines to enjoy after a day of exploring. Enjoy 2 Roku TV's, both in GUEST MODE, and with hi-speed WiFi you can access all your Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Accounts, etc. Your personal information will disappear when you check out.
Yes, you may use the washer and dryer.
There is a propane gas grill & tools on the patio overlooking the mountain views.
The Sunshine Reservoirs are 7 miles down the road and offer fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and water skiing so bring your water toys!! ................OR..................With some notice, we can likely supply kayak, paddle board, cross country skis and boots and/or snowshoes.
Seriously......Meeteetse has it all! checkout >> findmeeteetse.info
Miles and miles of hiking trails await along the Wood River, which is also a Blue Ribbon trout fishing stream. In winter, Hunting, Ice Fishing and Cross Country skiing are popular pastimes.
Fully equipped SxSs & 4x4 vehicles can be rented for exploring the gravel roads of the Shoshone National Forest located just a few miles (15-20 minutes) down the road or go all the way to Kirwin Ghost Town. The scenery is stunning all along the way!! We can provide coolers and even a portable propane grill for you very own mountain air picnic. Just make sure you obey the laws about keeping food storage Grizzly Bear safe. Bear Spray is a MUST! See ghostcoach.info for more information
The entire House is yours.
Patio, side yard with Nice Propane Grill (let us know if it runs out!)
Downtown Meeteetse is within walking distance. Explore this quaint western town with lots of history. We boast 2 Museums, complete with a full size grizzly bear, and fun facts about the once-thought-extinct Black Footed Ferret! But they were discovered living outside of town. Thumb through famous B&W photos of Charles Beldin taken on the Historic Pitchfork Ranch, and relive an old Stage Coach Station replica, local Ranch and Indian relics plus lots more...Gotta check it out!!
The Cowboy Bar & Outlaw Cafe are over 130years old, complete with 48 bullet holes! It's the only place where Butch Cassidy was arrested. It also serves the BEST pizza we've ever had!
The Elkhart Bar & Grill sports namesake huge Elk Mounts and even a full size wolf. It also has a drive through window for food and beverages, spirits included. Menu varies but is always good.
The Meeteetse Chocolatier is World Famous, he ships all over the world, delicious!
Vic Payne Gallery!!!!!! D0 *NOT* Leave Town without visiting!
Stop in Bronco Nells Ice Cream and Soda Shop.
Shop for Antiques Galore in The Cowboy Story Antiques and classic old treasures at Latigo & Lace. You can really find some treasures at both places.
Meeteetse also has a formal shooting range out at the Rodeo grounds, south of town, if you need to tune in your favorite firearm
