Kestrels Nest - a luxurious coastal retreat

Enter Kestrels Nest and you are greeted by an outdoor tub, drop the bags, settle in and soak up the surroundings. This beautifully renovated shack set on the sand in the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park has been lovingly styled with luxury in mind – it’s the perfect adults retreat to feel inspired, cosy up and reconnect. Enjoy ocean views from our hut on the dune, bath soaks under the stars and lazy days on the deck.

The expansive master suite offers a king size bed, cloud soft linen, sky high windows and a deep bath to relax. A true sanctuary for relaxation.

The additional bedrooms are cosy and stylish with a Queen and Double bed to grab a book, restore, relax and unwind.

Kestrels Nest also offers a full kitchen, laundry, two separate living spaces, expansive deck and BBQ facilities.

Kestrels Nest has an additional bedroom that can be booked upon request. If not booked this room is locked.

Kestrels Nest has a driveway where you can park your car.

Whilst we may not be available to get back to you immediately we are available via phone and sms during your stay.

Perfectly positioned, Kestrel`s Nest is only a short stroll to Aldinga beach. Enjoy beach activities like swimming, surfing, fishing, snorkelling and diving or take in the epic panoramic vistas of a stunning coastline on the Coastal Cliff walk. A 10 minute drive to the Willunga Farmers Market, or 20 minutes to the McLaren Vale wine region - this really is the perfect spot to discover the Fleurieu Peninsula. Kestrels Nest is a 50 minute drive from Adelaide.

Uber is available in Aldinga however we suggest scheduling your ride with plenty of time as drivers are limited and it can often be a reasonable wait.

As we do not live close by we are hands off hosts however we are confident you will have everything you need to enjoy your stay.
An additional bedroom is available to book. This bedroom will be locked if not booked. Please send an enquiry for further information.

#1 - Number of Guests
Ensure total guests matches that on your booking. If you have more guests than what you have booked for, you will not be covered under Airbnb Insurance. This is bad for everyone!

#2 - No Children
We have lovingly designed this for couples in mind - please don’t try and sneak your children in.

#3 - No Parties
We don’t want to be party poopers (well maybe we do) under NO circumstances are parties or events allowed at Kestrels Nest. This is just a quiet space for our guests only.

#4 - Visitors
Kestrels Nest is intended for guests only - however if you would like visitors, please just run this past us first.

#5 - Please show respect for our property.
Food & drink is to be kept to the dining table, kitchen island and the bench seat at the window or the back deck. Please leave Kestrels Nest as you found it - any theft or malicious damage will be reported to the local police, no matter how big or small.

#6 - Please Clean Up Dishes
If you use any dishes during your stay, we would be grateful if you would clean them.

#7 - Check Out is 10am
Our cleaner will arrive shortly after 10am to clean the property. We can’t stop her, she is a cleaning machine.

#8 - We use a septic system here so its really important no food debris goes down the drain. All food debris including egg shells, coffee grounds, cooking oils etc, need to be thrown in the bin. And just in case you had the urge, no bleach is to be poured down the drain either.

We understand that it’s tempting to flush nearly anything down the toilet— out of sight, out of mind, however our septic system wont cope. So please no sanitary items, wipes, q-tips or cotton balls, tissues, medication - basically only flush toilet paper and there won’t be an issue.

Should you incur a problem with a blocked drain, there is a plunger in the laundry draw under the sink - use this but please let us know if this happens. This rule is super important, so follow it wisely, if a service call is required for a blocked drain you will be charged for the cost of the repair.

#9 - Lights & Air Conditioner
We would really appreciate if you could turn off all lights and air conditioners if you leave the house, and on check out.

#10 - There is nothing better than a BBQ, and we would love you to use the one provided, however we do ask that when you are finished you give it a good clean, ensure all the knobs are in the off position, and the gas bottle is turned off. If the BBQ isn’t cleaned after use, we will have to charge you an additional cleaning fee.

#11 - This is a non-smoking property. If you are craving a smoke, please go for a walk and dispose of your butt appropriately. No fires (including candles) are to be lit in or around the property at any time (except of course the one in the living room).

#12 - Whilst we love our friendly wildlife mates, please ensure you keep doors closed when possible, and we do ask doors and windows are closed at night to avoid any ‘unwanted guests’.

#13 - You may get a visit from some kangaroos at dusk, please be respectful of these animals and give them their space. Remember they are a wild bunch and can kick if threatened. Please do not feed any of the wildlife on the property.

#14 - We have purposefully selected the softest, whitest, seriously most amazing towels for your drying pleasure - we want to keep them that way, so please don’t take the bath towels to the beach - we have provided some beach towels for you instead. And please don’t use them for make up removal - we have provided wipes on the bathroom benches for this.

15# - Lost Keys
$30 will be charged for lost or damaged keys. If replacing the locks is required guests will be charged the full invoice.
