Scenic Sandy Bay Lookout in the Hills

Set high at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, this elevated home captures sweeping Derwent River, city, bridge, and eastern shore views from almost every room. The bright living area flows to a private balcony, the ideal spot to linger over morning coffee or unwind as the light shifts across the water. Peaceful yet just minutes from the waterfront and CBD, it offers a quiet escape with everyday convenience. A fully equipped kitchen, three bathrooms, and secure parking ensure a comfortable stay.
Set across two levels, the home is arranged to make the most of its elevated position. Upstairs feels open and relaxed, with large windows drawing in natural light and shaping a calm, airy atmosphere. The living area invites you to unwind into the evening, with comfortable seating and a TV for laid-back nights in.

The kitchen is bright and practical, equipped with everything needed for everyday cooking. Nearby, the dining area is a bright, welcoming space for shared meals. Afterwards, step out onto the sun-drenched balcony to soak up sweeping Derwent River and city views.

Accommodation is arranged across two levels. Upstairs includes the primary bedroom, where a queen bed, peaceful outlooks, and an ensuite create a calm, private retreat. A second queen bedroom sits nearby, offering comfort and flexibility, while the family bathroom on this level features both a shower and bath for relaxed routines. Downstairs, a third bedroom with two single beds provides a quieter space ideal for children or additional guests, supported by a third bathroom with a walk-in shower and toilet.

An in-home laundry makes longer stays easy, while the secure two-car garage allows you to come and go with ease throughout your stay.
During your stay, you and your group will have the entire house to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!

You’ll be situated in the hills of Sandy Bay—a friendly neighbourhood amongst some beautiful homes. Hop in the car for a short drive down to the shopping district in Sandy Bay. The Hill Street Grocer is a must-visit. Salamanca and the Wharf district are only around a 10-minute drive from home where you can peruse lauded waterfront eateries and boutique shopping.

Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.

Lovely property with amazing views of Sandy Bay. Only a short, convenient drive back to Hobart to sightsee and dine out. Cosy and warm in the evenings. Will consider booking again in the future.

The unit was clean, great view. Dishwasher is broken, no internet, cooking utilities are very poor quality (any thing you cook will stick to them, even small egg!)

Stunning views, comfortable home.

We really enjoyed our stay. The views are stunning, including from the bedroom. The sun pours into the bedroom and living areas of a morning. Note: the hill is too steep to walk to the coast, but an Uber to Salamanca cost $13 and took less than ten minutes. Easy!

The undisputed highlight of this house is without a doubt the magnificent views from basically every room. The house otherwise had all we needed, was very clean and in a great quiet location just a short drive from a fab cafe and all the conveniences of Sandy Bay retail precinct. But the views absolutely stole the show!

Loved the view

Comfortable house, high on slopes, but easy access to Sandy Bay and downtown. Dishwasher out of order. Refrigerator a bit small but just enough. Wifi would have been helpful but didn’t detract as data isn’t expensive. We would recommend and stay again.

The views are outstanding, the location is good & the property was clean. However it is tired & needs a refresh. Curtains & blinds in all rooms in disrepair, outdoor seats with cushions that have disintegrated & table rusted & not fit for purpose,, all furniture worn & tired, fidge froze milk & wine.

Fabulous place with a view that can’t be beaten. Everything comfortable, plenty of basic supplies & some nice extras like body wash & plenty of dishy tablets. Manager was great with communications. We had 3 teenage children who all had space to spread out (& not share beds!).

Property was adequate views great and rooms suited us. But details in property not great from a broken dishwasher to loose door knobs/ kitchen cabinetry doors to missing freezer door on fridge so ice cream didn't stay frozen. And they don't advertise with wifi so we mistakenly assumed there'd be wifi - but no there isn't. We're with Telstra and had 1 bar so hotspotting it not great. So property has nice views but attention to detail is lacking. Cultery/crockery/etc tired. Wine glasses but no sparkling glasses etc Ensuite fan/light filthy and dropped dirt on the ground.

great potentiality but lack of manteinance

Bella casa in ottima posizione a Sandy Bay, vista eccezionale sul Derwent River fino alla cittĂ . Ideale per 2 persone: piccolo soggiorno, grande camera principale con bella vista, armadio e ensuite bathroom.La seconda camera Ăš piccola e si affaccia sul muro didietro.La terza camera al piano di sotto non Ăš vivibile in inverno, troppo umida e fredda, con solo una stufetta che abbiamo usato per scaldare il soggiorno dove non c'Ăš riscaldamento. Nessun problema per noi, abituati a non tenere caldo in casa. Il terzo bagno di sotto Ăš scomodo, lontano dalla camera e comunicante con il garage. Noi in due, con figlia di 15anni, siamo stati bene, ci sappiamo adattare. Purtroppo perĂČ la manutenzione Ăš molto carente: tende rotte in camera, luci non funzionanti in tutta la casa, nella cameretta interruttore del riscaldamento staccato dalla parete con fili pericolosamente ciondolanti, lavastoviglie con manopola di accensione rotta da tempo, parte solo dopo molti tentativi e non fa il ciclo completo di lavaggio. Pulizia scarsa, terrazza piena di ragnatele, finestre e vetri non puliti da tempo. La luce a stelo del soggiorno Ăš rotta da tempo.La stanza Ăš poco illuminata, abbiamo dovuto portare la lampada che Ăš nella camera di sotto. Il proprietario (??) ci ha chiesto subito il primo giorno se erano necessarie manutenzioni alla casa. Abbiamo riferito tutto nel dettaglio, senza avere nessuna risposta, come se si fosse offeso! Incredibile! Peccato con poco sforzo sarebbe una soluzione perfetta.

Good if you go out.

Visiting family but they do not have enough room for 4 of us. We only showered and slept at the Stayz house. Views good but furniture was either outdoor looking stuff indoor or looked very old and tired. Good for what we did, but doubt if I would want to spend time there.
