Welcome to Hard Day Hideaway, located on the pristine waters of Lake Mary in Crystal Falls, MI. This cabins location is a true Upper Peninsula gem. With the ability to sleep up to 10 adults, this cabin is perfect for that individual or group looking for a great outdoor getaway. With a beautiful deck overlooking the lake, you have options galore on activities. The location provides activities during all four seasons the great Upper Peninsula offers. Whether you want a weekend getaway or a long stay, the cabin is equipped for you. All you need is some clothes and food for a great getaway.

A walkout basement to the lake allows for easy access to the water. Pull your boat up to the dock in front of the cabin or take off on snowmobiles or ATVs from the yard. This sand bottom lake is truly remarkable. Come relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset over the lake at the fire or from the warm cabin bar.

Cabin was perfect for our group, plenty of room for our two trucks and trailers location would have been good if there would have been snow, can’t predict Mother Nature.

The property was very nice. Everything you could possible need was there. The weather however prevented us from enjoying any water activities. Or having a fire in the evening. But that’s life in the UP!!

Deer Hunting

This property would seem to work better for families with small children. We were a 'all adult' group and the bedrooms were very small. No closets for storage. In the upstairs bathroom, i noticed dirt in the corners next to the heat register. The dryer and dishwasher running at the same time would trigger the circuit breaker to go off. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and supplies. Maybe a door on the downstairs bedroom and laundry room. Jim & Gilda Chie

Family Fun

Our family had a great time at the cabin. The kitchen and living area is spacious with beautiful windows looking over the lake. Lots of beds for a large group of people. Around the dock the water is shallow and sandy. It was absolutely perfect for our little kids. The water is crystal clear. We had so much fun wading around catching minnows. The provided kayaks and swim pad were perfect for everyone. We had a great time fishing and swimming all weekend long.

Family Time

The lake was beautiful. We enjoyed kayaking. The shallow sand bottom was perfect for 2,3 & 5 year old grandkids. Quiet and peaceful. Loved the deck and fire pit. Cozy for 8 adults and 4 little ones.

GREAT VACATION STAY!!

We had a great get-a-way with family at the cottage! The lake was awesome for the kids and they had fun kayaking and swimming. Great communication with Kari. The deck overlooking the lake was awesome for a one year old that loved the water too much!! A giant playpen for her! :) It Was a great family time with family. We are looking forward to coming back again. We also used the 4-wheeler trails that were close to the cabin.. Thank you for everything, Kari!! The cabin was very well equiped with everything we needed.

Great Winter Getaway

Very nice Property on a beautiful lake. Property was as described. Owner was very quick to answer any questions. Our family had a great time snowmobiling, ice fishing, and playing games in front of the fireplace. As enjoyed watching the deer walk by every morning and evening. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to stay in your cabin!

Autumn in the UP

The setting of the cabin is lovely and particularly so during the peak of autumn color in the UP. We enjoyed the quiet setting and starry nights with the Milky Way directly overhead. The property owner and host, Kari, is terrific. Would stay here again.

Lake Mary Gem!

I'll preface this by saying that I have old family ties to this particular property, however this review is unbiased. It is a comfortable cabin in a cute little town in upper Michigan and Kari provides all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. The main draw is the lake. When I say crystal clear water, I'm not exaggerating, the water is CRYSTAL CLEAR. The depth remains shallow for quite a distance from shore and only a few small patches of soft baby weeds, barely a few inches, not the tall ones you can see from the surface. The kayaks, paddle board, floating mat, fishing gear, and other outdoor amenities were an added bonus. Also, it is a super quiet lake! I've been to lakes where there are jet skis and speed boats and pontoons flying by all hours of the day, but not Lake Mary! We saw only a handful of boats on the lake and mostly during the early morning hours for fishing, otherwise super quiet and calm. If you are looking for a place on the water to relax and float with a cold beverage, this is the spot, I've already booked a week for next summer.

My husband and I are born and raised in the Upper Peninsula. After my husbands 8 years in the Marine Corps, we moved back to our hometown. We spend our time working, raising three kids and filling the little time between those two with our friends and family. Like most families, we know how precious time can be and this lead us to purchasing a cabin to enjoy as a family.

As a former military family, we have been fortunate enough to travel the coasts of the United States and know firsthand how beautiful different areas of the country are. After staying in cabins in Big Bear, CA and the Shenandoah Mountains in Virginia, we knew we wanted to own a cabin ourselves. This lead us back to our native Upper Peninsula where in 2020 we fulfilled our dreams of purchasing a beautiful Lake Cabin.
