The Space:
Okere Lake House is perfect for large families or groups, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind. The home features six bedrooms: a master with super king bed and ensuite, three queen rooms, one double room, and a bunk room that sleeps up to five. There are two bathrooms—one on each level—as well as a separate toilet downstairs.

Designed for entertaining, the house includes three refrigerators and two dishwashers to ensure maximum convenience.

Enjoy two living areas and two outdoor spaces, ideal for both quiet moments and group gatherings. The upstairs lounge has a cosy wood burner for cooler evenings, and the fully equipped laundry is located downstairs.

Guest Access:
You'll have access to the whole property. There is an on-water boat shed that is locked and has the owner's private vessell but all other parts of the property are available to you.

Okere Lake House sits just a short drive from the charming settlement of Okere Falls, nestled at the inlet of Lake Rotoiti on the Kaituna River. This scenic location offers a 3 km bushwalk through native forest with four waterfalls, including the historic Okere Falls and Tutea Falls—the world’s highest commercially rafted waterfall at 7 m. Thrill-seekers can kayak or raft grade‑3/4 rapids, while others enjoy fishing in trout pools, picnicking at the reserve, or relaxing by the historic hydro‑power station ruins. The local store serves great coffee, hosts community events like beer festivals, and has a beer garden perfect for unwinding.

We recommend your own vehicle when staying here. The property is 20-25min drive from Rotorua city and just a 2min drive to The Okere Store.
