Very spacious. The view was spectacular! The kitchen was a little small. Even 2 people in the kitchen was a little much at times.There is limited to no cell phone reception outside the house (once connected to the host wifi) but we enjoyed being unplugged and played games every night we were home.

Escanaba River Gem

Our family of four stayed here for about a week and enjoyed the property, especially the location. It was quiet and serene with a spectacular view of the river and surrounding forest. At night, we took advantage of the deck to gaze at the night sky. Day trips to Munising, Marquette and Escanaba added to our adventures. Would stay here again!

Great stay with amazong view of the lake

Had a problemchecking in due to it being under new ownership but took less then 10 minutes to get a hold of him. Great cabin with an amazing view of the lake.

Great fishing cabin

Overall had an enjoyable stay for our fishing trip. Location was great and cabin was comfortable. The property is going through an ownership transition which may have attributed to some inconveniences we had. We had to reach out to the property manager via phone to get check in instructions as emails/vrbo messages went unnoticed. Additionally, the WiFi during our stay was not working. The purpose of our trip was to get off the grid and enjoy fishing, however, were hoping for WiFi to keep in touch with loved ones (no Verizon cell service) as well as some remote work.

The property is exactly as advertised. It's well equipped and very comfortable. The location is surprisingly easy to find and about as tranquil as can be. I plan on booking again next fall if at all possible.

Our Wilderness Retreat

Our third stay. Can’t say enough good things about the home and location. An Eagle flew overhead when we were getting in the car to leave. A spiritual end to another fulfilling stay.

Slice of heaven

This property is so beautiful. Perfect getaway for rest and relaxation. Beautiful setting surrounded by nature. Trees, river, wildlife. I believe there are more deer and turkey in the area than people! Deer came.into the yard daily to snack on apples. The cottage itself is very clean, comfortable and accommodating. We had a fire every night

We had the best time in the UP! The cabin was beautiful and the location was more than I could’ve ever hoped for. I feel completely refreshed and my husband is already begging for another visit to this property in the fall.

Stunning place!

House was perfect. Furnished beautifully, amenities all up to date and functioning. Location is truly stunning with incredible views of the river. The SOUND of the river was really remarkable. Very soothing and continuous. Outstanding trout fishing upstream and down from the house. Wading can be very tricky when the water is high, but when it’s low, this house is truly a fly fishers dream. We will be back!!

Wilderness Retreat

This home is our go to spot for a wilderness retreat. Modern, solid, well equipped and situated on a beautiful river in a setting that is away from it all. The sounds of the river and wildlife really make you forget what you left behind. Throughout our travels to the home we have seen bear and deer. At the home we have had deer moving in and out of the yard as if we weren’t sitting out there. Eagles, the wolves in the distance at night, world class trout fishing and satellite tv! What more could you want?! I LOVE this place!

Must stay

I didn’t want to come back home. Listening to the constant river flow and nature was absolute peace. The cabin had more than everything I needed, very cozy and clean. Going into town was very interesting, a lot of history to learn. Make Rosie’s diner a must stop for breakfast or lunch. Bob and Nancy were fantastic, knowledgeable and great conversation. I hope to come back again. If you’re hesitant on booking, this is your sign to just book it.

Beauty and serenity

We had some issues with our stay but they were largely out of anyone’s hands. The mosquitoes this year have been horrible and they were so bad we couldn’t even step outside as we were swarmed. They were coming down chimney in droves and we spent our nights killing mosquitoes non-stop. The owner and property manager were apologetic and offered to make it right. What more can you ask? The property is beautiful and the river is gorgeous. Tons of wildlife, secluded location and a well supplied house. Other than the mosquitoes we felt like we were staying with family. Very cozy. Thank you for working with us to make things right! We will be back 😃
