Located in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch, just a stone’s throw from the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, Canterbury Museum, Christchurch Botanic Gardens, and tramways, you’ll be wowed by this stunning space.
The Space
Kia ora and welcome to Harakeke Whāre (Flax Apartment) a residence offering a taste of New Zealand art and culture, echoing the heart of Christchurch’s art precinct.
Spread across three levels, this property has been fitted out to a high specification to ensure a comfortable and stylish visit. The apartment includes three bedrooms: two with queen-sized beds and one with a single bed, all featuring fresh, high-quality linen.
The bathroom features heated flooring and a large walk-in shower. The open-plan living area includes a fully equipped well-appointed kitchen, dining area for shared meals, living area and the balcony overlooking the garden area.
There is a garage for one car, along with laundry facilities (washing machine, dryer, and sink).
The fully fenced outdoor area includes a landscaped and decked space at ground level.
Guest access
The entire apartment, including the decking area, is all yours. Parking is available only inside the garage.
Getting around
There is a garage for your use, and plenty of free street parking nearby. Buses, taxis, Ubers, and Lime scooters are all readily available in this location.

To maintain clean and healthy floors for all our guests, we also request that shoes be removed at the entrance – thank you for helping us keep the space fresh and inviting.
We pride ourselves on offering a home away from home that is both welcoming and immaculately maintained. Our cleaning fee reflects the exceptional care taken by our housekeeping team, who prepare the space to hotel-quality standards after every stay. You’ll arrive to crisp linen on every bed, fluffy towels, essential toiletries, and a complimentary selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate to enjoy during your first few days.
While standard cleaning is included, please note that any excessive mess or additional cleaning required may incur an extra fee.
Please Note: To ensure the safety and peace of mind of our guests, we have a security camera located at the entrance. This helps us monitor arrivals and maintain a secure environment for everyone. Rest assured, your privacy is our priority, the camera is only positioned to cover the exterior entrance area.
