A private, peaceful, self-contained 2 bedroom modern unit on a lifestyle block. Developed native plants and grounds. Stunning views out towards the 4 peaks mts. Handy location from Geraldine (6kms). A perfect base from which to enjoy walks, cycling and sightseeing (Fairlie, Tekapo, Aoraki, Omarama, Oamaru, Peel Forest), skiing (Roundhill, Tekapo, Mt Hutt). A perfect spot to rest and recharge for tourists traveling from Queenstown to Chch before flying home.
The unit has 2 double bedrooms, each with a comfortable Queen/King sized double bed. There is a kitchen with a microwave, toaster, 2 -element cooktop, electric frypan, saucepans, frypan, cutlery, cups, etc. There is a small fridge and dishwasher and dining table that seats 4. There is no oven nor grill.
The living area adjoins the kitchen in open plan style where there is an incredibly comfy leather couch, chairs and television (streaming services only). The unit has one toilet and the bathroom has a great shower (no bath).
Outside there are developed grounds with native trees and ample bird life. We nestle between working farms. Paths can be explored freely by our guests and if the vege garden/ fruit trees are in bloom there may be produce that guests will be welcome to share.
Guests are welcome to enjoy our outdoor area - we have an outdoor brazier,dining table etc which is lovely in the summer/autumn months.
Guests have full use of the entire unit and may enjoy the grounds of the property as well. To get here travel State highway 79 from Geraldine for approx. 4 kms and as you cross the Hae Hae Te Moana river bridge our road is immediately on the right. Travel 2.26 kms up Te Moana road and our driveway will be on your right.
Our driveway is 300 m long and gravel - it's very dark on the roads here at night so you may feel like you are in the middle of nowhere! Turn left into the turn-around area as you reach the house and you'll easily see the unit as it has a large mural painted on the wall. Take the path around to the back of the unit and make yourself at home.
The unit is part of the house structure but there is no interior access to it from the main house - i.e it is a fully separate and private dwelling.
Cellular reception can be patchy on parts of the property (there are "hot spots" where it's OK though). We do have Skylink for wifi/internet which is fast and unlimited.
The night sky is great as it's very dark here at night (no street lights)
It's well off the road so very quiet here. You'll sleep well.
We find guests like the peace and privacy and often just like to hang out and relax here to decompress before their flight back to their home country.
