Great large family bach

Location was wonderful, right on the beach. Generous living spaces with comfortable leather furniture for 12 people. Heated outside shower was a bonus.

Beautiful sea front view!

The place is huge, ideal for family and big group gatherings and they have nice facilities. Amazing sea front view. Will surely come back to this place.

Great beachfront property

We really enjoyed our stay here. There was a lot of space for our family to relax and enjoy the house and the ocean. We had a few rainy days so we made good use of the games table downstairs. The living room is also a great place to curl up and read a book, and watch the rain pass. Perfect location on the beach. Lots of space for parking. This is the second time we've stayed here and would recommend it to families.

We all had a great time...so close the beach. House was perfect for the 10 of us. Shop handy for fish and chip night...they even cooked our own caught snapper

Another Amazing Holiday!

It was our fourth time staying at High Water. We all had such a great time as usual. It is ideal for our whole extended family of 8 adults and four children. The view and closeness to the beach are amazing and the house has everything we need. We are all looking forward to our next holiday there. Thanks Lisa.

Great Oakura experience

Our group of Forest and Bird friends had a wonderful time at High Water Bach on lovely Oakura Beach. The house has a great capacity to host a good sized group and there is no shortage of any crockery, cutlery or pots and pans in the kitchen area. Wonderful sitting out on the deck in the sun, swimming just out your front door and many wonderful walks to be had. It's worth a visit to Mimiwhangata for those who like walking and exploring. Highly recommend this bach and thanks to the owners, we all had a great time.

First whānau vacation

Our whānau had an absolute blast on our first vacation during Waitangi week. The spacious house is located along the beach front which made tanning on the loungers convenient, while I monitored my children who spent there days kayaking, boogy boarding, building sand castles, collecting shells and exploring. We also got to see Dolphins swimming in the bay near. The 2 stores nearby (literally 5 houses away) has everything you need; fully stocked dairy/petrol station and a Takeaways/cafe/koha shed. The home itself has everything a growing whānau needs to have a memorable time away; surround speakers for music, bbq, fire pit to cook smores, boogy boards, kayaks, cards, binoculars, an outside heated shower to prevent sandy children from entering indoors with tonnes of carparking space. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!!

This place is massive and well stock with everything. We were a family of 9 and had so much room. We have already booked for Feb/march and hoping to be back next Christmas

Making more memories in Oakura

A mint location with all you need for a perfect family holiday. Take extra toilet rolls though as we had to buy more (4 or 5 rolls not enough for the 12 of us over the weekend). Also take salt and pepper as nothing provided. These are minor comments for an otherwise magic stay! We loved the living/dining and kitchen space. Great to have an area that caters for the number of beds provided. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

birthday stay

Really loved location, amenities, atmosphere and kayaking. Need to pass on that we had noticed mould on pillows, bathrooms not too clean, dog hair on carpet and window sills need to be cleaned. Would stay again.

High tide

Great Bach for a family holiday. Despite the rainy weather we had an awesome time with all the books, games as puzzles. The rumpus room downstairs provided enough space for the kids to stay occupied.

Great place that caters for a large group 12+

Wonderful spot right on the waterfront. Great to see both sun and moon rise for photography from the balcony. Our second stay here and I'm sure it won't be our last.

Wonderful family retreat

A great place for our special family gathering. Plenty of space, and great facilities for whole whanau. Well set-up house, with all we needed for our stay. Right on beachfront, only noise was sound of the sea!
