NOTE: Dans la tradition kiwi bach, vous devez: nettoyer la maison et faire la vaisselle avant de partir; Apportez vos propres draps (serviettes / draps / torchons);
We had a great visit in little Kaiteriteri. The kayaks were a bonus for the teenagers and we loved being so close to the quiet beach of little Kaiteriteri.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Little Kaiteriteri is the perfect spot to explore the area and the bach is comfortable and has very nice views. Would come back again.
Lovely deck and views. Close to beach. Had all we needed. Didn't use TV. Shower was not good at all with no pressure but bathroom was nice. We were happy as apart from shower and no windows seat as this had been removed which was sad.
We loved our time at this beautiful beach community in Kaiteriteri. The house was conveniently situated up the hill from the beaches and close to the town center, and had a gorgeous view. We reveled in our time at Abel Tasman National Park, and this location was perfect for access to all services. As international visitors, we did not know about the Kiwi "bach" tradition, which requires bringing one's own linen and cleaning the house before leaving. While linens were provided for us on request for a nominal fee, we still had to launder them and hang them to dry on the morning we were leaving! It might be nice to upgrade the service, particular for international travelers!
The house was very basic. Surprised that linen wasnât included but just did sort this. Also there was no tea or coffee. Carpet was completely rotten in bedrooms. Shower pressure was terrible! Overall the house served its purpose but felt it was overpriced for what it was.
This house was mostly perfect for our family to stay in. Great size, views to die for, very close walk to the beach. Had everything we needed. Easy to check in with instructions from Barbara. The only downside was the shower pressure (although my 3 daughters were not able to use up all the hot water so there is that!!). Would still stay here again.
Stayed in little kaiteriteri for a weekend. Great spot, close walks near by. Nice half day trip to Anatoki salmon. Clean, tidy and spacious house. Had everything we needed. Would highly recommend and definitely stay here again.
Thank you Barbara
We had a wonderful 5 night stay is in slice of paradise. House was great location, cosy at night with the fire going and the kitchen has every thing you will need. The host was friendly and ensured every thing went smoothly. Thanks so much for sharing your batch. We would love to return!
We had a great time in this lovely home. Very well located, quiet with a beautiful view to the bay and a 2 min stroll to the beach. The local supermarket and boat departure for Abel Tasman Track is only a 2 min drive away.
Youâll find everything you need in this home, even a high chair which was handy for our baby.
Side note: there is no wifi or dishwasher and the shower pressure is very low but none of these tainted our stay.
Beds are comfortable and the living space is very nice.
Highly recommend!
My friends and I have now rented this lovely Bach for three years in a row now. Two toilets are so important with 8 women and it is so close to the beach. It is clean and we will be renting this Bach again.
Great location, wonderful view, comfortable house.
The house is in a wonderful location with a great view, an easy walk to the beach. It's very comfortable and well equipped with plenty of space, comfortable rooms and beds. The outside deck is a great spot for relaxing after an active day. While the house was spotlessly clean, be aware that it's not a new house and there is some minor wear and tear - none of which detracted from our stay. If you're looking for monogrammed towels, this is not the place. But if you want an informal beach place in a stellar location, this fits the bill. Highly recommended.
The view was amazing, and the little alcove with glass all around was great. The all wood house creaked n groaned a lot. there wasn't a dishwasher. The owners were aware I was travelling from Ozzie, but I wasn't aware we were to wash their sheets if we used them., Otherwise, it was comfortable n clean.
Access to property is a challenge to seniors up to 45 + stairs to back door access to deck.
Keys not available on property by stairs.
Using neighbours drive to access deck
to keys. Carpets in bedrooms very worn , bathroom water pressure very low, Suggestion to pour a glass of wine and enjoy the view did mot cut it.
Power trips off, cockroaches, poor amenities, heating is bad
The property has good views and Barbara was friendly over the phone. That is where the positives end.
If you turn on more than two to three things the power trips off. This includes the heater, microwave, refrigerator, tv, hair dryer, water kettle.
Expect little bugs including cockroaches, probably because of the location. So check your baggage to prevent carrying them back home.
The access has 22 narrow stairs so carrying luggage and mobility can be an issue for some.
The amenities like tea coffee sugar soap were all empty, no proper utensils. All utensils appear those that you'd normally discard off your house.
Linens were not provided but we were charged for it. The beds were dirty.
After staying in Christchurch, Te Ananu, Mount cook, Fairlie, Hanmer Springs and Arrowtown, this was less than 1% of the quality of the accommodations we enjoyed throughout the trip and was one of the most expensive.
We booked for seven but ended up with three people due to an accident just days before the trip. Things would have been a lot worse if all of us would have traveled
On the positive, Barbara was always available on the local number. She apologised for the inconvenience and sent a sorry note through the manager. She refunded $100 in cash, thank her for that
Location 10/10 just a few minute walk to the golden beach. Amazing location. The Bach is a kiwi Bach but for the price we paid (over 1200) we expected a slightly higher quality. The shower was literally a dribble. The tv is from the 90âs and was actually difficult to use. Luckily we had nice weather so didnât have to spend time in doors. The kitchen was overridden with ants when we woke in the morning. A little bit of effort and money could be spent on the bedding and utensils. Some falling apart. Cushions torn and falling apart.we arrived to no tea or coffee or cooking oil , so a quick trip back to the supermarket that we had just passed.. We stay in many holiday rentals and although we donât necessarily want luxury, we expected a little more , this one didnât quite hit the mark compared toOthers in this price range.
