Nice home

This was a clean, comfortable and lovely home. It was located in a nice and quiet neighborhood. We especially enjoyed hanging out on the back deck. Definitely recommend!

Good place but bad smell

We stayed at the property for a family wedding. The house has a number of bedrooms and bathrooms that made it really nice for everyone to have their own space. Note for people with young kids, the beds are all pretty high off the ground. You can tell the house was pretty hastily upgraded but nothing that impacted our stay. The main reason for the star deduction was that the basement smelled very strongly from smoke and was covered up by many air fresheners that were equals off putting

Nice Home but Distracting Paint Job

House is well appointed. Unfortunately, the home paint job was very distracting and poorly executed; mainly the white trim color spilling over everywhere on the floor. The poor paint job was noticeable in EVERY room in the home. Very distracting.

Smoking House

The house is beautiful with plenty of space for the ten of us that stayed at the house. We had two little children and the rest were adults. Great location and clean house other than the smoke odor, especially in the basement. It was advertised as a non smoking house and it was apparent by the VERY strong odor and smoke eating candles that someone smokes heavily in the house. We contacted the company and they sent cleaners over, but there wasn't anything for them to do with such a strong smoke odor. If management had responded better and had agreed to compensate us for our troubles, as we had asked, I would have given them 5 stars.

From the Owner: "Sorry, we could not accommodate your late request as stated, we had a guest checking in upon your departure. We needed time to deodorize the home and prepare for their arrival. Thank you for your notification, as all smoke orders have been eliminated, and we’re back on a five-star streak. As a measure for process improvement, A fine will be administered to any guest who smokes in the house in the future."

We were visiting Beloit for our Beloit College 30 year class reunion, and this property was perfect for our needs.Everything about the property met or exceeded our needs except for one thing: the plug-in air fresheners were way too potent smelling for everyone. We had to unplug them and put them and put them under the sink during our stay just so we could breathe.They were not only way too strong, they made us feel that so many potent air fresheners were trying to cover up some bad smell(s) instead of removing the bad smell at the source, which would have been the proper fix.In the future, please try to air the property out and remove the original bad smell properly instead of covering it up with air fresheners, which became a sort of olfactory pollution in and of themselves.After we unplugged them all an aired the place out, though, it was great. No complaints.We would definitely stay here again!
