We only had two nights here but it was such a great break. The house is gorgeous and cosy and the street is divine! The hosts were lovely to deal with and we would love to return.Great set up for a family.
A lovely, comfortable home away from home for a business trip. The hosts' communication was great. The house was nicely presented with some lovely little extra touches (home-grown cherry tomatoes in the fridge!).Thank you!
Our rally team used as a base for four days,
very comfortable and handy to everything.
plenty of room for all our cars and trailer.
one of the team said it was like staying at Nannas - but in a nice way.
only negative, and it is a small one, the couches could do with a bit of a refresh.
This is a lovely property and we were very well provided for by the hosts. Great location. House has all you need to look after yourself while away from home. My only criticism is that it wasnât disclosed up front that the owners live on the property. That was a negative for me and my family and we didnât find out until the hosts rang on the Saturday prior to our stay to confirm my booking. They said they only had it as a tentative booking, despite full payment having been made? Bookabach have ads on TV at the moment making a point about the fact that you have the property to yourself and donât have to share with owner.
Host was great and communication and instructions excellent. House was over filled with collections and random items.
Couches were extremely uncomfortable. Kitchen facilities were excellent with loads of extras.
Great communication from our hosts, both before we arrived and during our stay. Super comfortable, warm and inviting home, very central to most amenities in Palmerston North. Bella annd Dean ensured we had everything we needed for the week. The home was well stocked, including the kitchen, the rooms and also the entertainment options, with books and games for a rainy day. Highly recommended if youâre after a relaxing stay away from home. :-) Thank you.
Bella had been very accomodating (forgive the pun). We visited in the middle of winter, but the soft beds, warm blankets and heaters made our stay very comfortable. The distance from town was exactly what we wanted; it made for a great early morning walk of less than 15 minutes to town.
I wonât have to look for other options next time we visit Palmerston North!
NOT FOR PUBLICATION PLEASE -
I left a note for the owners about some safely concerns. The house had soft rugs on most of the floors as we, two seniors, viewed them as hazardous. I also mentioned the risky state of some of the lights and switches but I want them to know about these safety issues and give them a chance to consider and act upon my message to them. They were away so we didnât meet them.

A pleasant stay in a â30s vintage house in a lovely tree-lined street with beautiful birdsong and plenty of room. We were pleased to see how much life there is in Palmerston North since our last visit when The Square was deserted and rundown. Plenty to see and do but donât expect much of the Rugby Museum because there is nothing much there.
The owner was turning the heaters on for us when we arrived, and showed us through the property. It was a lovely welcome. Tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam and eggs were provided, and a bowl of fruit was on the dining table.
