It had been almost 20 yrs since our last visit to Holmes with a View. My husband and I needed a short getaway. The property was beautifully quiet, peaceful and clean. It was just the refreshing getaway that we needed.

The views were amazing and the suite was nice but....the wifi was poor. We could barely get cell reception and the wifi cut out so much that we couldn't get and email to the host to report a problem. The kitchen sink was clogged when we came and the garbage disposal did not work. We rented this particular place because it had a full kitchen and we wanted to cook most of our meals during our stay. We ended up having to do dishes in the bathroom sink. The TV was very small, probably 18". That wasn't a problem for us but others might be annoyed by it. The furniture was functional and the bed was VERY comfortable but everything looked dated and well used. The jacuzzi bathtub was very nice but the sprayer was broken 6had a piece of tape over it. The description mentioned a hot tub on the property that could be used by all the guest but it was right outside of another units window where the kitchen table was and there was no way to access it except to go onto their private deck area. So we didn't use the hot tub like we had planned. They did have fresh baked bread, cinnamon rolls, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, yogurt and jam. It was a beautiful location. From what I understand 2 of the 6 units have been updated and I suppose that the other 4 units are next on the list. We would definitely consider staying again of the sink and wifi worked.

Thank you for the feedback! We're glad you loved the amazing views, comfortable bed, and breakfast treats. We have since resolved the kitchen sink, disposal, and jacuzzi sprayer issues, and we are working to optimize our WiFi. For clarity, our property features a private in-unit jacuzzi soaking tub rather than an outdoor hot tub. We always encourage guests to reach out during their stay so we can assist immediately, and we hope to welcome you back for a seamless stay!

So beautiful and peaceful! The view was amazing! Would definitely come back! Everything was well cleaned and nice. I will also add, I loved the bed and wish I knew what it was! PS! I'm so sorry I forgot to start the dishwasher after loading it.

The setting is lovely. The mattress and all the furniture needs replaced, they were all uncomfortable. The new hot tub below suite 1 is tacky, and we did not enjoy hearing the activities going on in it.

Weekend getaway

Overall it was a peaceful couple days. Its always nice to slow down for a whike and just enjoy life. We did just that at Home with a view. Beautiful views of the rolling hillside. Sat out on swing and listened to the birds and watched the horses and cattle .just a short drive to downtown Berlin and about 15-20mins to walnut creek.
