Lovely place old but comfortable. Owner was awesome to deal with great communication. The only downside was the construction next door that started up every morning at 7.30am.
We had an absolutely lovely stay here in Wanaka! The location was ideal, and the accommodation perfect for our group of friends - with separate rooms, and a spa (albeit a service to pay for separately). There were some quirks - like the bucket for the spa-pool was pretty cracked, but hard to complain when the price was so reasonable! We had a great stay and would highly highly recommend it to others.
We were 4 adults and 3 kids and the house was very spacious. From the listing, I was under the impression that only one room is in the sleepout but the bunk room is also there, perhaps can be clearer in the Amazing view from the deck!
An old tired but much loved holiday home absolutely suited to our group of 70+ ages. Plenty of parking space also for a campervan. Within 20 minutes of coffee shops in town!
Great old showers and comfy beds. The huge living area suited us well. We biked and walked between rain storms. Thankyou Belinda our host for letting us stay.
6 friends staying for a sports event. We were welcomed each morning by stunning views, spent sultry evenings on the deck. Everything was provided, basic, simple and clean.
Classic simple kiwi Bach -worked well for our family group of 3couples and a single.
Classic simple kiwi Bach -worked well for our family group of 3couples and a single. Warm and cosy. Spa was a treat after a day up the mountains. Easy walk to town and lake for those wanting a rest day. Lovely lake views from the deck.
We knew it was rustic from the photos and others comments but for us it was very relaxing and comfortable. Everything worked and small things that you wouldnât take on holiday were there and available for use. Plenty of space and well set up.
The standard and presentation was VERY disappointing. Wet washing still in washing machine. Hence very unpleasant smell on arrival!!! Barbecue disgusting and unusable. Cleanliness not up to an acceptable standard. Lawns very long. Not value for money. Wanaka still magic place to be.
Great easy communication with hosts - definitely a bach, adequate and comfortable, could do with a bit of tlc.
And a new fireplace - not a great replacement for the heat pump in a power cut!!!
Belinda was really helpful and great to communicate with throughout the booking process and our stay.
The house has everything you need, very usable kitchen and lounge, dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer. The beds in the main house were very comfortable and we were all warm with just the heat pump - didnât stay there long enough to put the fire on.
The house and sleepout are like the other reviews say and are not flash. They are a little run down in places. It could do with a good deep clean and sprucing up but was perfectly fine for two families to stay a few nights.
Beautiful cosy bach! Not fancy, but everything you need, nice and warm with the air con and wood fire, 1 min drive to main Wanaka strip and a great view of Treble Cone ski field on a clear day from the deck!!
Note that there's 2 double-bed bedrooms in the main building and 2 bedrooms in the seperate building - would be ideal for 2 families. :)
The property was a bit aged as mentioned in the description. However, it was perfect. Plenty of room for 4 to 6 people,. It was warm. The location is excellent. The price was great. Would definitely stay longer next time
Just like in the pictures - although view from lounge/bedroom/deck was a lot better than expected. Great to wake up in the morning and check the mountains - could see Treble Cone in the distance. Heaps of options for keeping warm- and chopped dry firewood stacked ready to use. Beds comfortable and good pressure/hot water in shower. Kitchen had everything you needed - even a nespresso. Spa pool was a bit tricky to get the hang off but very nice to be able to soak after a day up the mountain. Located in very nice neighbourhood and very short drive to town and easy access to lakeside paths. Unfortunately our party was a little smaller than expected due to last minute sickness - but loved our stay.
2 families have owned this bach since the 70's. Its a very special place for us all with amazing memories of jet boating, skiing, camping in the Wanaka area. The bach has been improved over the years i.e heat pump new deck but it is still a simple bach, we only put a TV in a few years ago, and we now have internet.
