This property is a true gem. The property (its location right on a river bend) is absolutely stunning. It was the perfect place to spend Labor Day weekend. We loved using the fire pit for s'mores, the hot tub, and the tubes and kayaks on the water. We didn't cook or grill this time, but we will next time! Plenty of spaces to gather and hang out with friends and family.
It was beautiful. We had excellent weather the entire trip. The river was just gorgeous, and the dogs loved it. Met the neighbors up the hill and enjoyed a cookout and fire in the fire pit. Very relaxing. I really enjoyed the property.
We loved this property from the time we saw it 4 years ago while staying at the sister property. The view of the river is just awe inspiring-it mesmerizes you for hours. Our crew had a blast rock hoping form island to island. We will be back FUR sure! Rob is a great host.
Check-in and communication was excellent and easy. I was grateful a previous guest had mentioned in their comments the driveway. There had been quite a bit of rain prior to our arrival so the red GA clay dirt roads and the steep driveway were less of a shock. The cabin had everything you could possible need. We went out for groceries and a quick trip into Helen but honestly, you donât need to leave the property. Furniture is nice but not the most comfortable; remote for bedroom tv didnât work- minor inconveniences. However, the view, screened in porch, fire pit and atmosphere are really all you need to find your version of heaven on earth. We lucked out that the property next door wasnât rented as it is very close and we would not have enjoyed the peace and quiet we experienced. I would highly recommend this property and planned to make another trip back next year.
This property is the perfect location on the River. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Itâs so nice to unplug and refresh, but still have the capabilities to hop on the emergency Zoom meeting. We had a few minor issues the first day, but the property manager was awesome and had us all fixed up in no time. We look forward to coming back next year.
The house and property are beautiful! We especially enjoyed the peaceful moments when we could read and relax to the sound of the river. That said, we chose this property over two othersâpaying about 150 moreâbecause the listing emphasized its privacy and location on 5 acres. We were really looking forward to a quiet, private getaway to decompress from our demanding jobs. Unfortunately, the listing did not mention that two neighboring properties also share the waterfront access. Both of those homes were occupied by large groups with children during our stay, which significantly impacted the sense of privacy and quiet we were expecting. Even inside the house with the doors closed, we could hear kids yelling. While we truly donât mind kids having fun, it wasn't the tranquil setting we had hoped for, and my friend decided not to fish at all because of the constant activity right in front of the house. The hot tub also wasnât all that privateâit faces the shared waterfront, where people were frequently hanging out. The living room windows do not have curtains, which normally wouldnât be a concern, but since people kept walking past the house to get to the water, it did feel a bit exposed.Overall, the property has a lot of potential, and for the right groupâperhaps families or social gatheringsâit could be a wonderful choice. But for anyone looking for true privacy and a quiet escape, itâs important to be aware of the shared waterfront. We wish that had been made clearer.
Pictures do not do it justice. Absolutely beautiful location. The river has the absolutely best spot for family, kids, dogs, swimming, fishing, or just chilling out. Great small towns to visit, shop & eat all within 10-30 minutes. We loved it!
Amazing! Home, outdoor living space and river were magical. The "House Rules Book" was so thoughtfully put together with awesome recommendations and fishing tips! We will definitely be back!
This was our 2nd stayâŠ..Beautiful view right on the river, great location. Plenty to do playing on the river or taking trips to local attractions. House is nicely setup, enjoyed sitting on the enclosed porch and the hot tub overlooking the river, and sitting around the fire pit.
We live about an hour away but this was a great mini getaway. We lived the screened in porch and fire pit by the river. There were games and rock painting for the kiddo. Perfect stay.
This place was everything I hoped for and more! Great location. The view is stunning! This is a gorgeous property with everything, and I mean everything, you would want to feel like home. Every decorative detail is special. We enjoyed board games, the hot tub, the kitchen, the screened in porch, the view from each bedroom, the fire pit area and the river too. We made some great memories as a family and we would definitely stay again!
We had a really great time with family fishing and grilling. The river is just beautiful and walking across the "hairy" rocks was a lot of fun. We didn't take advantage of the kayaks- maybe next time! The older folks in our party said the big beds slept well-- the bunkbeds on mine and my husband's 50 year old bodies were a little tough- but younger people wouldn't have an issue. Everything was well organized and stocked, though more silverware would have been good, but we made do. Our only complaint was the grill. The men had a difficult time with getting it lit with the ignitor not working, but once it was it grilled perfectly! Also, the main trashcan was full from previous guests so we worried about raccoons pilfering through the can, but luckily nothing happened. Be aware, the driveway is very steep, but all of the vehicles made it up and down without issue. Great place for rest and relaxation and we highly recommend!
Just spent 6 days here with my wife and teenage daughter and this property is by far one of the most incredibly beautiful places you could stay at on the Chattahoochee. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Plenty of room in the house, fire pit on the water, very calm section of the river, extremely private and quiet all day long.
We brought our family for our sonâs 16th bday and 2 of his friends. The views were breathtaking!!! Wishes we could have stayed longer. Everything was perfect! Everyone stayed busy in the river, fishing, kayaking, hot tub and painted rocks to add to the collection. We ended every night with a fire by the water. 10/10.
We had a fantastic time at the cabin and truly enjoyed our stayâeven our pup loved it! I hope to visit again during the warmer months to explore more and make the most of the river.
Our family used to live in South Florida. I am a Physical Therapist, Marisol is a Pharmacist. We wanted to have a vacation property to escape to with the kids and build family memories through the years. I wanted a place in the Florida Keys. Marisol did NOT. I am glad I listened to my wife. We have spent the past 20 years vacationing to this property with our family and friends and have created so many wonderful family memories right there on the river. We gradually fell in love with the North Georgia mountains and relocated to this area with our family. There is a plaque on a rock down by the river that says 'A little peace of heaven'. And that is exactly what this property is. I am never happier than I am at this property spending time with family and friends. Now that I live only 45 minutes away from White Rapids Retreat, I am able to come over once per week and perform regular maintenance, repairs, and make improvements to the property, so year by year we gradually add amenities and make upgrades for everyone's enjoyment.
This property is located 1.5 hours drive from Atlanta, so you can either drive there or fly into Atlanta and rent a car for a short drive. We looked at alot of properties in North Carolina, South Carolina, and North Georgia. Our family loves the river, so we were only looking at river properties. There were alot of options, but we wanted a river with rushing rapids to play in and the sound of the water to lull you to sleep in a hammock. Most properties are either slow moving water, or the house is too far away from the river. The moment we saw this property, I told the realtor 'This is it'. We actually ended up in a bidding war with another buyer over this property. We won!!! It has been worth every penny. We would like to share this property with you and your family to enjoy.
There are so many things to do at the cabin, in the river, and in the North Georgia area, that I can't pick just one. Mostly, we just love spending time with family and friends experiencing what 'a little piece of heaven' is like.
