Fireside Cabin – a cozy retreat at Truman Lake – relax and unwind! Pet friendly!

I'm a big fan of Truman Lake! Over the years, I’ve spent countless days out here fishing, boating, hunting, or just soaking in the peacefulness of the evenings. Everything you need is close by, and the kindness of the locals makes the area feel like home. I really can’t speak highly enough about it.

One of the things I enjoy most is hearing the stories from guests after their stay. I often hear about how much the kids love the play set—and how the slide off the deck brings out the inner child in the adults, too! But more than anything, people talk about the peace and quiet they experience while they’re here.

You can sit back and watch birds fly through the trees, deer wander across the backyard, and enjoy the charm of the Martin house. It’s a special place, and I’m always happy to share it.

I have loved spending time at Truman Lake for many years. It’s one of my favorite places to relax, fish, boat, hunt or just enjoy the outdoors. With hiking trails, picnic spots, and beautiful open water, there’s always something to do.

Truman Lake isn’t just scenic—it has a rich history. Truman is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake that was created in 1979, and named after Missouri native President Harry S. Truman. Today, it covers over 55,000 acres and supports both wildlife and recreation.

Whether I’m out on the water or exploring the area’s trails or boating, every visit reminds me why I love this place so much. If you’re looking for a peaceful, activity-filled getaway, or to just chill, I highly recommend it.

The cabin is packed with kid-approved features—including a swing set, slide, and sandbox. For a little extra fun, there’s even a slide off the deck so everyone can zip down into the yard!

Located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of space between neighbors, you can enjoy peaceful evenings around the fire pit and have room for the kids to run and play. Just minutes from two boat ramps, a local general store/gas/bait shop, you’ll have all the lake-day essentials right at your fingertips.

If you need larger essentials like boating gear, swimwear, or groceries, Clinton, MO has everything you need just a 20-25 minutes drive away, or you're 20 minutes from Osceola, MO. Looking to grab a bite or enjoy a night out? Clinton or Osceola offers a variety of bars, grills, and restaurants to satisfy every taste.
