This is our 3rd time staying at this location. This is the first time we stayed in this room. We love everything about this property. The master bed in this unit was hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Everything else was comfortable just not the bed with the view.
The refrigerator leaks. 2 beds were like sleeping on wood. The washer and dryer could only fit 3 beach towels at a time. Unit 117 needs updating badly. Other than that the property was very nice. The room location was awesome and had plenty area right out the back door for the kids to play. The pool was a great size and very clean. The beach rental employees were very accommodating We enjoyed our stay
Loved the location. Didnât like the broken AC, stopped up dishwasher w rancid water left in it and leaking freezer/fridge. Although the AC issue was resolved a day later, the dishwasher and fridge issues werenât addressed at all. The maintenance man came but said he couldnât do nothing about any issues or concerns we had. There were Other minor issues but doable This unit needs some much needed attention from stained drapes, to a new mattress in master bedroom
It was fun and safe and the room accommodated us well. We had a few hiccups ( air not working properly and then the water coming from another condo flooding the floor). Management took care of issues quickly. We would stay again in the future.
This was the perfect condo for my grandchildren but the roaches were horrible. I would like to make this our yearly destination family trip but until the roach problem is addressed we will not be staying again!!!
This unit is located away from the swimming pool, more peaceful. The kids had room to run and play in the grass rather than being cooped up in a balcony unit. The bed in the master bedroom was VERY hard. I could not sleep with my husband . Slept on the couch which wasnât much better. The bedrooms are small .
Fort Walton Beach -Waters Edge unit #117 April 9-23, 2022
This unit has a lot of potential but needs several upgrades
We have a group of friends and family that have been staying at Waters edge for eighteen years and have rented numerous units in that time.
We really enjoy the ground floor three bedroom and three bath units as we have grandchildren in our group and the first floor is convenient.
This year, our group had five units and I had rented two units from VACASA. We were disappointed with Unit #117
We feel they need to replace the carpet, Master bedroom furniture needs to be upgraded, appliances need to be replaced, cooking utensils were lacking and need to be totally replaced
This year we also had friends staying in unit #116 and I suggest that you or the owner take a look at the units on either side of #117 to see the potential improvements that could be made to this unit.
Beds were horrible. They had bad reviews last year. I called to make sure they addressed the issu...
I was told all new mattress had been replaced since all the bad reviews in 2021. Well, that was a total lie. Our bed was so hard I had to go and sleep on the couch. Springs were poking my side it was so bad. I called and all they did was send a new mattress cover! Roaches were bad. We live in the Galveston Tx area. We know what it is like to live in a coastal area. But, trust me we donât have roaches crawling in the kitchen around 10-20 during the stay. And at night in our bedroom in the carpet and bathroom. The unit was 117. Donât rent it. The owners need to put back some of the 4,000.00 for 4 nights that we paid back into the condo to make it clean and comfortable. I will never stay at this place again. This was our second time to stay at these condos.
Just stayed over for 5 nights during July 4th weekend... we were expecting a lot more since the place was a bit pricey. The beach while awesome, with perfect sand, there was some algae looking grass in the ocean, not that big a deal, but some days it was heavier than others, we asked and they told us its that time of the year where that grass is just 'passing by' - sort of like a pollen of the ocean if you will. So while not the most awful thing, certainly not fun to swim in. Its supposed to last just a few weeks. Now, on to the apartment unit itself, where to begin! Its VERY outdated and needs renovation, the couches are from the 80s, furniture was difficult to use (in the bedrooms) broken handles, drawers that don't easily open/close. The unit is right behind the garbage section of the building, and there were LOTS of roaches outside of the apt that inevitably get in the apartment, and while we did kill a couple (not a lot) there were some dead ones behind the couch (we dropped a toy & unfortunately had to get it out) - which means they don't clean the apartment well. The carpet (in the vast majority of the unit) was not in great shape. The sliding door that leads to the patio/beach section would not lock, so while it closed, we slept with an unlocked door for all 5 nights, which is a little concerning. I get it that its a 'calm' area, but we were in the first floor, we placed the coffee table against it to prevent anyone from opening it (we are big city folks). When we told the vacation folks it wouldn't lock, they said they would send someone 'with a metal stick' that never happened. The unit is on the main level, with very easy access to the pool and beach - this was the best thing about this mini-vacation, the proximity to the beach and pool. But otherwise, I wouldn't stay in this unit again, the lack of upgrading but yet charging as if it was a great/updated place is not worth it. The apartment furniture decor is stuck in the 80s - just look at the mirror-covered wall which is so old the glue from the back shows in the actual mirror!!! Oh, and may I say the pillows were the WORSE I've ever had - super flat, no support.
This unit is ground floor, so no stairs, and itâs an easy walk to the beach, but there is no beach view.
Furnishings are very nice, and we found everything we needed.
Very nice rental that has a grassy area and walkway to the beach right out the back door. Perfect for someone with walking and climbing disabilities. Also, perfect for returning to the room with kids and people that donât wonât to sit on the beach all day. Ms Mary, at the front desk, was very friendly. Go early to claim your chairs and umbrella because they are first come first serve. The water was beautiful and the condo had everything that we needed.
Unit needs a little love....beds, washer/dryer, bathrooms all in need. I saw all of the previous comments about the beds & figured they would be replaced & they were not. Washer/Dryer very small & takes a long time to dry. Loose toilets with flushing issues. We've been renting condos on the Gulf Coast for many years & 1st Floor is our preference, but I would not rent this unit again. Too many others to choose from that are comparable in price & much nicer.
We recently stayed at this condo and loved the area and easy beach access but there were many things that needed to be corrected for the price we paid for this. When we arrived we noticed the back door would not lock at all. This was concerning because my 7 yr old was sleeping on the couch that week. We had to make a makeshift lock to hold the door shut at night. Next the ovens handle in the kitchen was abkut to fall off so we tightened that so we could use it. One of the bedrooms by the door had a fan that was making a strange noise the first night so the couple that was sleeping in that room woke up and turned the light on to find the fan was about to fall out the ceiling onto them and wires were exposed. In the master bedroom we could only use one lamp because the other was missing the knob to turn it on, many light bulbs were out and also the jacuzzi tub had hair all in from past vacationers. To top it off the dry in the kitchen had the dryer vent fall out into the drum when you would turn it on so we took it out and set it ontop of the dryer while using it. Clothes would fall into the open hole while drying. This was a great location but for the price we paid it needs a lot of work and better cleaning before.
