We call our home Valhalla Ranch as an ode to my father, the ultimate Viking of our family, because this was his heaven. We encourage you to bring your family and enjoy one of Island Park, Idaho’s most sought after locations. Our beautiful cabin is set back in its own private paradise on 26 majestic acres with its own private pond and stream. We stock the pond with rainbow trout making fishing one of the children's favorite activities. Valhalla's magnificent views will have you mesmerized for hours gazing at Henry’s Lake, one of the top fishing lakes in the country, or scouring the mountainside for wildlife that migrate through the area. And the best part is that the house is just 14 miles from the gates of Yellowstone National Park!

We offer a spacious 5860 square feet home with four private bedrooms, an open sleeping loft as the 5th bedroom, and three bathrooms for the comfort and convenience of up to 12 guests. All linens are provided for your stay. You will find ceiling fans in the living room, kitchen/dining area and the two main floor bedrooms. The downstairs bedrooms have floor fans and the Loft has a portable air conditioning unit.

Our open floor plan provides wonderful spaces for families to gather. The large living room, with floor to ceiling windows, is the perfect spot to enjoy the incredible views, watch television, or read and play games. The large kitchen is well stocked and has lots of room for all of the chefs in your group. Enjoy fixing a home cooked meal with family and friends in this well-appointed kitchen or barbecue steaks on the outside grill on the back patio. The dining room seats 8 with additional seating for 4 at the bar. Outdoor dining is encouraged on the expansive wrap around deck.

Enjoy a rousing game of billiards in the downstairs family room or play ping pong in the "kids room". A laundry room with full size washer and dryer are available for your convenience with all supplies provided.

Our outdoors is what sets Valhalla Ranch apart from the rest. Imagine wading in a private stream while enjoying the soaring eagles overhead. You will never feel closer to Heaven on earth than at our little slice of paradise.

Valhalla has Direct TV and a very good reception. Cell phone coverage is excellent.

Truly Exceeded my Lofty Goals

What an absolutely amazing place! All of my family were blown away. The views were simply amazing, but then the house itself was beyond compare. Everyone from our group wants to leave their mundane existences back in the real world behind, and move to Valhalla! Not to be glossed over also the property manager was very helpful. I made a special request of some ski poles to use to walk longer distances in the park due to a muscular disorder. Not only did they come yup with one pair, they had two! One of them definitely worked better than the other, and I was off and running (or slowly walking actually). Thank you again for a stay that will be very difficult to top.

The Most Amazing Place at Yellowstone

We absolutely loved staying at Valhalla. The property and house are absolutely beautiful. The view was stunning. It was close to Yellowstone and the things we wanted to do. Our kids had a blast with the games and activities in the house. The house was equipped with every possible thing you could need for cooking. Cellular reception worked well. The property owner/manager Rosalyn was very helpful and accommodating. Honestly our experience at Valhalla was as perfect of an experience as anyone could expect. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend Valhalla to anyone that is looking for an amazing place to stay near Yellowstone.

Wonderful Stay!

The property and home were both just amazing! They outdoor deck/s were perfect, enjoyed quite a bit of time there! The owner understands that the little things can make all the difference! For example, they had laundry detergent available which is much appreciated when traveling. Also available were baggies, some condiments and some things that are hard to travel with or you just forget to purchase but really need. Owner was very timely in all communications which was just great! Would definitely stay again.

As described and more

Our family of 10 (6-70 yrs) had a memorable trip! The house was immaculate and saying it's well-stocked is an understatement. Lots of nice touches too...huckleberry jam and honey with welcome note, pop-up puppet theater for kids, etc. Plenty of room to spread out and have your own space if needed. View is spectacular and pictures are accurate. Kids had fun fishing in pond and playing frisbee golf (nice lawn in front of house for games). I wasn't sure about staying outside the park as it's 15 minutes to YNP entrance and then add whatever you are visiting, so it can be a long ride. We went into the park 3 of the 4 days. But the house made it worth it and there's plenty of wildlife to look at along the way. Rozalynn was quick to answer any questions and you can tell the owners take pride in Valhalla. Thank you for sharing your home. All around, a trip our family will never forget!!

Nice but not without issues

The house is very nice, has great space, and has a great view. The bathrooms were very nice, beds comfortable, good furnishings, etc. Our main issues with the property were the stairs from the driveway to the main floor were a full staircase up so it was a lot of work to bring all of our luggage, totes, etc up the stairs for our one week stay. In addition, it made it very difficult for my mother in law to get into the house as she has stability issues with stairs. We were also disappointed that the house didn’t have central air conditioning. The description stated air conditioning but that was only a window unit in the loft area. The house was very warm in the afternoon in mid July even with the doors open and fans blowing in every room. Finally, the bats!!! Don’t plan on enjoying the stars at night like I had intended or leaving the house before sunrise to get into Yellowstone early because there are probably 40-50 bats that you have to contend with that swoop all around the deck area and under the eaves of the house .

Amazing property and amazing host

We were expecting a lot based on the pictures on the listing and this property did not disappoint. It was amazing! The views were breath taking. The first morning we had 15 elk and 3 moose in our yard! The little ones were able to go down to the pond and catch (and release) some beautiful fish. The older guys were able to walk across the street and catch even bigger ones. This house has everything you need for a perfect stay. A well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, pool table, ping pong table and even games for the kids including a little hand puppet show for the little ones. You will not find a better view anywhere in the area. And I can not say enough good things about the host Rozalynn. She was extremely helpful and very patient with my questions. She was a wealth of very helpful information. I would highly recommend this property and her for your stay! Thank you Rozalynn for allowing us to create memories of a lifetime for our family.

Heaven in one word: Valhalla.

3 generation family trip to celebrate 50th anniversary and 70th birthday. This home was absolutely perfect. Comfortable and spacious with such a welcoming feel. We enjoyed a day trip to Yellowstone. West Yellowstone Grizzly center was a big hit too. ATV rentals to Sawtelle Peak and Big Springs was super fun. Mesa Falls was a gorgeous trip with picnic at Warm River to include wading and fishing. We all enjoyed the many hours we spent at the cabin. Playing cards. Shooting pool. Badminton and croquet outdoors. The kids watching movies in the loft. Cooking and eating meals together in the incredible kitchen. Honestly I think we all could have spent the entire time right there at Valhalla. All ten of us, from age 6 to age 70 unanimously give this lovely home 5+ stars. Perfect.

Valhalla, heaven indeed!

Wow! This home and its surrounding beauty left my family and I in awe. Pictures can't capture how truly beautiful it is. A trip to Yellowstone National Park led us to booking this property since it is only 14 miles from the West Gate/Entrance. All the comforts of home away from home. We had a great time bonding and taking in the breath taking sceneries/landscape of this home. We even saw some mule deer in backyard. We had such a great time that we plan on returning.

Valhalla Wow!!! This home exceeded all our expectations, and then some. It has everything you need, and so much more, so just bring your belongings, unpack, and enjoy. The outside deck and views are spectacular, as well as the inside of the home. Great place for a couple, or a whole family. Plenty of room for all. Besides being close to all major attractions, if you have the time, walk the property, and feel the peace that it brings. The pond and stream are wonderful. stocked with trout, but please catch and release for others in the future to enjoy. Plenty of fishing on the lakes an drivers surrounding the area. It's an easy 20 minute drive into West Yellowstone, for restaurants, bar, and grills, and YNP is only a few minutes further. The owner is very gracious, and anxious to make your stay one that you'll never forget. I have been fighting cancer for 3 years, and all treatments failed. So instead of trying first stage clinical trials, I've (we've) decided to enjoy life as much as possible, while I am still healthy and able to, and let things run its course. This was my third trip and while I'm still healthy, many other trips coming up with my honey, and love of my life. Valhalla touched my heart and soul. It was exactly what I have been looking for and has rejuvenated my body, and given me the comfort and peace I have been looking for. I'm sure it will do the same for you, if you just listen to it.

Something for Everyone

Pictures don’t do justice here, absolutely breathtaking views all around! We came to visit Yellowstone and of course that was incredible but the entire family had the best times just hanging out at the property. There were lawn games, we caught fresh trout in the private pond, (delicious BBQ) the pool table was a big hit and so many cozy places to just sit and enjoy the views. Would definitely come again and would recommend 100%

Beautiful

This was a spectacular place for us! The house is equipped with anything you need and plenty of space for all 12 of us. The views are stunning! It’s in an excellent location for Yellowstone and all of the surrounding activities. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, Yellowstone, white water rafting, horseback riding and a rodeo. So much laughter and so many memories made here. Thank you for all of your hospitality.

Fabulous-Amazing-Gorgeous-Perfect

This vacation for our 3 generations of family was a year in the making. In that length of time expectations can grow to unreasonable. This fantastic mountain retreat surpassed all our expectations!!! The views from anywhere in the house are breath taking. There were 10 of us and the accommodations were perfect for our group. Anything you could need is there. The kids loved fishing in the pond and we had a momma and baby moose visit one morning. The distance to the West Yellowstone entrance is perfect. We did a south loop one day and a north loop the next day. Words cannot express our gratitude to Rozalynn for sharing her slice of heaven with us. I have rented from VRBO for years and this is by far my favorite!!!!

Amazing vacation!!

This property has it all! It was absolutely perfect for 2 families of 4 (4 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies). The home is well equipped, extremely clean and even had baby items we appreciated- baby gates for stairs, pack n play and high chair. The owner is incredibly responsive and so so helpful. We will stay here again for sure!!

So much to love

I could never put into words how amazing this house is. There were 8 adults and 5 kids with plenty of space. It was spotless. The attention to detail is unmatched. So many small gestures that go a long way, such as a welcome text informing us of weather as well as local jam as a gift! I have stayed at several VRBO’s. This one felt more like we were staying in a HOME. Fully stocked kitchen with allll the spices. My favorite part of all is the amazing deck. So many memories made on that deck.
