My partner and I had a great stay! The house was super cute and lots of nice little touches such as the lights, the back deck, etc. Charles was very communicative when I had a question and super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again : )
This is a beautiful home with very nice amenities!! Clean, so pretty, and a wonderful kitchen. We were only there 1 night but it was very comfortable. The host was very communicative and promptly responded with all the information we needed.
First time we ever stayed in Boston area. Bit surprised that host was not present at this inn, but maybe that is the trend? Very clean Bath and Kitchen area, and new linens for bed. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
This was a good fit for us because we were in town for 3 days and needed easy access to the Fenway part of town. It was an easy 10 minute drive. Parking on the street at the residence was easy. The room was clean and comfortable and sharing the bathroom was not an issue.
Charles was wonderful. Room was clean and comfortable
The room was very clean and comfortable in a beautiful, old house with a beautiful kitchen, access to the entire floor's rooms for sitting and reading, eating in dining room, and a breathtaking backyard off the kitchen that was very peaceful. Nice neighborhood and very close to stores in charming Brighton, Boston. I'd definitely stay again for the very reasonable price. Thanks for the nice memory.
The house and room were exactly as advertised. The neighborhood was nice. Very walkable and seemed very safe. Sharing the bathroom was not an issue. We didn't spend much time at the house but the kitchen, common areas, and patios all seemed nice from what I saw.
Charles was very responsive to emails. House lovely. Street parking a bit difficult depending on when you arrive. Detailed instructions on how to get to your room very nice and well written. A few nice restaurants within walking distance at oak square. Felt very safe walking in the area. Had a great night sleep in a comfortable bed.
Pros: very clean, nice place to stay. Kitchen is well-equipped, bed was comfortable. Excellent decor, spacious.Other: for a 4 night stay, I was provided one bath towel and one disposable sponge, no washcloth, which is really odd. I went to Target to buy a 6-pack for 3. There are quite a few steps to climb to get to the front door, then more steps to the second story.Communication was ok.All in all, Charles was nice and helpful. I'd consider staying again!
The communication with the host about parking was not very clear. I have trouble walking, and the host suggested that I should park at the bottom of a very steep hill. I drove around for an out an hour to try to find a better option. After speaking to a neighbor I was told that you can park on the street next to the house for free. Not sure why the host never suggested this? Also either I misread the property description or it was not listed that I would have to climb a lot of very steep and narrow stairs to get to the property. And as I mentioned before, I have some difficulty walking. But I made it work.My reservation was also for two people and there was only one towel and one sponge left in my room for a shower. And a SPONGE? No wash cloths. Strange. After requesting more towels, the host said we would be charged 10 PER TOWEL. after explaining that we had only received one towel the day before, he waved the fee. Which was nice. The bathroom was very nice. It had a nice patio outside. Has a vintage feel. Kitchen was nice. Room didnât have AC, wasnât aware of that upon booking, but they provided a fan in the closet. Which was fine. Not a bad stay, not completely upset. But I think the 10 towel charge is ridiculous and lack of communication about parking is unacceptable.
Awe, I was there for a bittersweet reason, memorial for dear lifelong friend⊠the solitude and calm of this place was just what I needed while I attended this important event⊠and on a brighter note, I got together with old friends and celebrated a beautiful life. I guess the ole saying lemons into lemonade. But, in the end, I had a glorious time in this beautiful home with its very kind and generous proprietor Charles, what a gentle, genuine and sweet man who was very attentive, down to earth and helpful. Everything was perfect. I felt like Iâm staying with a family or friends. Iâll go back in a heartbeat to that place. Great location with great people! I loved every room I saw, was such beautiful place inside and outsideâŠ. just as pleasant as it could be. Close to everything in center in Brighton and not far from Brookline or Boston for that matter I will definitely go back in a heartbeat⊠Looking forward to my next visit!!! Thank you again Charles for a delightful and memorable stay!!!
Beautiful, Historical ,classic property worth staying besides first class cleanliness with lovely ambience. Property manager/landlord is a wonderful personality. It was a great experience. Whenever I will visit this place again I would love to stay at this place again and again.
It was a lovely room in a lovely home. Charles, the host, was very helpful and responsive. The patio was very private. It is like sitting in a tree house. Everything was impeccably clean. We would definitely return to this home should we return to the Boston area.
We stayed here while at our son's Boston College location. Everything was well maintained, especially for being such an older, historic house, and the location was conveniently located.
This was probably my favorite place to stay in Boston. The room is comfortable and clean. The shared spaces are beautiful and perfect for relaxing. The only drawback we had was distance from public transportation. StreetIt'snotdefinitely a home in s Hill
I had a great stay in the Pistachio Room at the TPH propertyâit was exactly as described. The photos were accurate, and the room itself, painted a soothing pale green, was cozy and inviting. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shared bathroom was conveniently located just outside the door. The neighborhood felt safe, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. I appreciated having access to laundry facilities if needed, and the check-in process was super smooth and consise thanks to excellent communication with the host.Parking can be a bit tricky since itâs a residential area in the city, but there are several bus routes nearby in Oak Square at the bottom of the hill. Just be prepared for a bit of a workoutâthe uphill walk is steep! It's also close to the Mass Pike (I-90), which is convinient if you are driving.Overall, this was a fantastic alternative to the pricey hotels in and around the city. I'd definitely recommend it!
Comfortable and Clean room with shared living, bathroom, and kitchen. Stayed over Christmas, located a short walk to the bus stop to the train station to downtown. Saw the Lights Display and Bruins Game, love Boston! Advice: bring a pair of slippers since hosts asked for no shoes into the space.
It was wonderful! Nice, quiet, cozy & clean! Close enough to the freeway & city to get around but far enough away from the city where you get a nice, homey feel. Definitely would recommend to anyone with a spouse/significant other for a nice, relaxing getaway.
It was in a nice neighborhood with some great little restaurants within walking distance and a handy 7-11. There was a very nice little Italian restaurant called From Scratch. Great foos and service.
We had a car and could be downtown Boston in 15-20 minutes. Be warned, it has quite a few steps up to the room if youâre lugging a heavy suitcase up. The shared kitchen was very well equipped ( I loved the toaster! Youâll see if you stay there). We shared a bathroom with another room which is OK until you desperately want to use it and someone is having a shower in the middle of the night! By the way, the bathroom is very nice and modern. We both loved the shower. The bed for us wasnât the most comfortable. We kept sinking in the middle to each other. The duvet was super heavy and thick. OK on a super cold night but it was quite warm in Boston.
The deck off of the kitchen was very nice to sit out and have a glass of wine in the evening after sightseeing which we did with some other guests.
We walked down the street in the mornings to have breakfast outside at the Glasser coffee shop. Great food and cheap.
Parking on the street is allowed. It is a non-permit parking area. We had no trouble parking our car close to the house. Iâm not sure why Charles says you can park free on the square, you can park free on the street! I tried to get Charles to clarify this but did not get a clear response. I got an answer from neighbors walking their dog.
Overall a good stay.
Our host was awesome and very quick to reply to any needs/questions we had. The house was beautiful and the neighborhood very quiet. If we ever return to Boston I would be very interested in staying here again.
I am still so speechless about this house. There has been so much work and effort put into the house to make it beautiful and it has paid off. The different lights used around the house remind me of home. Iâve been away for 10 weeks and this house was the perfect way to bring me back. Everywhere is spotless and the location is perfect. The Neighborhood felt extremely safe and is only a bus ride away from the city centre. When I come back to Boston, I will be choosing this house again!
