Everything was nice and neat. The old house is beautiful. Lovely neighborhood. Easy access to transportation. Everything was easy. Kitchen and laundry were convenient. Host Charles was kind, responsive, and efficient. Highly recommend.
We loved this place. Itâs more in the style of a bed and breakfast. It looks like a lot of thought went into the interior design. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves so sharing the bathroom was not an issue at all, everything was super clean, well stocked kitchen in a beautifully preserved historic home. Will definitely stay again.
The Perthshire house is an inexpensive and beautiful option to Boston hotels. My room was lovely and large with great light and views. The dark wood floors, trim and doors throughout the house are magnificent and well maintained. The common areas are comfortable and well decorated and the kitchen well stocked. The bathroom was great, While sharing a bathroom can be a drawback, it was not an issue for me. I highly recommend this place!
what a beautiful nest of a room on the third floor. Spacious enough and the bed was VERY comfortable with really lovely sheets, too. And for sharing a bathroom, it was a beautiful bathroom to share with a great shower. I could really hear the people other rooms when I was in the halls, but in our room, I didn't hear them at all. It's in a quiet neighborhood and we loved the grounds, the kitchen and living room, the small patio, and the area.
This was our 2nd stay at the Perthshire House. Loved the Sanctuary room! Comfortable and restful. Loved having the little seating area and waking up to the birds chirping.
The Pershire house was a charming and cozy place to stay. I was there for two weeks in January 2025. I stayed in the Sanctuary Room on the third floor. It was spacious, had a firm mattress excellent for sleeping, and an sitrimg area. The shared bathroom was clean and well-appointed with a lovely modern glass walled shower and nice tiles. The shared kitchen had all the amenities needed to cook (which I did a lot). Lovely living and dining room and washer/dryer also available. The house has beautiful wood paneling and details while also having great modern amenities. The host Charles was very responsive to questions. It is also very well located to get to other places in the Boston area. Ubers were inexpensive and easily available for a trip I took to Concord and some other places. There is a great YMCA down the street which I joined for 53 for the month. It has a large clean swimming pool, yoga and other classes and a nice clean gym. This was an unexpected bonus.I highly recommend the Pershire House.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The house is so full of character. It feels like living in a famous Massachusetts home filled with history. Everything is available to you. I appreciated the fridge to store my beer. The busts inside add a lot of character. I thought I wouldn't like the idea of a shared bathroom, but the other guests were so nice. I felt so welcomed. I will try to stay here if I ever come back to Massachusetts.
Attended a workshop in Boston and couldnât find a hotel within government per diem. Found this location on VRBO and it was very pleasant! Charles is so friendly and kind.
Top design inside. A+++ for little details. Communication with host was flawless from booking to check out. Added in my list for my ne t visit. I recommend strongly.
I just stayed for one night - but it was exactly what I needed - a clean room/bathroom and a comfy bed. But it was actually even more than I had expected because the house was beautiful - very spacious, lovely decor. I just wish I couldâve stayed longer!
Charming historic home in a quiet neighborhood. I easily found parking on the street and the bed was comfortable. Nice newly-renovated looking bathroom. Detailed instructions. Pleasant stay. đ
Clean and quiet. Do not recommend for travelers carrying big heavy bags!!
I appreciated the stay as it was clean and the instructions were clear upon entry, however I would not recommend this VRBO to those lugging heavy bags! There are many tight staircases you will have trouble hauling up heavy bags on. If you are carrying lightweight backpacks or handbags and donât mind the climb, it is a nice and quiet stay. I stayed for one night and I had lots of trouble entering and exiting with my luggage, but I appreciated how direct the instructions were and how neat everything was.
This house was absolutely gorgeous and so close to many spots. We ubered into the north and end it was only $20. 10 min drive to Cambridge. Amenities were amazing and Charles even left out Halloween candy for us. No complaints at all!
I stayed at the Perthshire house for 5 days and it was quiet and peaceful. The house is very clean and Charles, the manager was easy to communicate with when I brought things to his attention. I would recommend this property to anyone in the Boston area. It is located right by Oak Square and itâs in walking distance from the library, bus stops, and restaurants!
