This was our second time staying on the house boat and we absolutely love it. Just a fantastic experience. We will be back soon for another weekend adventure. The host let us use the kayaks and we spend half the day exploring the waterways . Woke up to dolphins just outside the door.
Awesome alternative get away to your standard Vrbo.
I hadn't considered the possibility of staying in a house boat for a Vrbo vacation, but it was such an awesome time. Host was great and very accommodating. Perfect little romantic get away.
If your looking for an affordable way to go to the beech this is it. Hosts are very accomidating. We brought our boat with us and they allowed us to park our trailer in their yard and dock our boat in their slip space. We saw dolphins, went to Crab Island, fished, enjoyed the quiet islands and went boat watching in The Destin Harbor.
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay! The atmosphere is relaxing and there was plenty of room, inside and outside, for us to spread out. The location is minutes away from outstanding restaurants and grocery stores, as well as the beach. Having the use of kayaks and paddleboards was a wonderful activity that we took advantage of daily, and one day we enjoyed being just yards away from a pod of dolphins that came into the inlet! The hosts were very friendly and attentive to our needs. I would absolutely stay here again.
Polite owners. Owning an off shore charter boat with sleeping quarters, safety on a boat is priority. Exposed wiring outside, ceiling water damage in main bedroom, which most likely if left unchecked will have black mold issues, boat also needs to be dry docked and under go some major maintenance. Furniture in helm area with kitchen was uncomfortable and the recliner was broken. Outdoor patio furniture, as a business owner, was absolutely disgraceful. I hope this information helps anyone looking to stay. If these issues are corrected it will be an ok place to stay for a few days.
Overall the place was Nice & it was cute & Cozy. The View & Atmosphere was Good. The shower water got Hot which was a Plus for me. Thanks for having the primo water machine. On the Downside Some of the light fixtures didn't work and i couldn't get the coffee pot to come on. Thanks for Sharing your Boat house for a Vrbo listing choice. It was A new and different experience hopefully one day I can visit againđ
The owners were very accommodating, friendly, easy to contact through the listing and respond quickly. We enjoyed sitting on the decks and enjoying the quite inlet. We were fortunate to have comfortable temperatures that even allowed us to keep the doors open and enjoy the breeze. There were no mosquitos in April (maybe they spray, maybe just perfect timing).
No additional attractions besides the water within walking distance. However, beaches and a variety of other things are within a short drive. Be aware that there is a steep walk from the parking spot to the boat. The owner was kind enough to leave a cart to help transport our things down the hill.
Thanks for a lovely, peaceful stay on your boat!
Should not say two bedrooms. Older people like us could not climb up in that little space. Thank god there was a slide out couch. All around it was good.
If you want to be one the water, in a safe and comfortable location, this is it!
Beautiful location. Quick drive to the beach. Nice paddling from the houseboat. The cove is calm so the boat did not rock. Very comfortable! Nice linens and towels. All the items you need in the kitchen even though no stove top. Houseboats are not for everyone, but I would defn go again!
Looked like the bare minimum of cleaning was done. All the linens were clean, but it was dusty, and the toilet didn't work right the whole time. The owners were very informative and sweet. I would definitely stay there again. It was just out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to travel to the places we wanted to go to within just a few minutes.
Sadly the listed photos do not portray the actual condition of the houseboat. Upon entering we walked thru cobwebs the first few steps inside. Food crumbs on the futon sofa, and on the dining table as well as underneath the table. Sign on bathroom wall that states toilet paper cannot be put into the marine toilet. The washer/dryer unit was out of order. Cable TV currently turned off. Mini air unit running with bucket behind it to catch dripping water. Water was pooled in the floor beside it along with dirt and other debris that had not been cleaned up. A lot of dust and lint on top of main air unit causing it to go into an error code regularly. Blinds torn up, moldings hanging off the wall along with other damages. Strong odor from marine toilet. Fortunately there was a small vacuum and mop so we were able to clean it before we decided to stay. The hosts were out of town at their sons wedding the first couple of days so we didnât want to bother them with our dissatisfaction. The houseboat needs repairs and a thorough deep cleaning.
Most welcoming couple went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our fun, enjoyable family time together.Thank You we look forward to returning for a longer vacation ASAP
Our stay was excellent. Quiet area and the boat was so peaceful. Stocked with literally everything you need for cooking, getting in the water, or going to the beach. We would love to come back soon! đ
We stayed for a few days to avoid the snow back home. We had not stayed on a boat before this trip. We had a great time. Boat had all the things you would have at a condo. We ate out all meals and the restaurant options were all close. Hosts were super easy To book with. Thanks.
We bought this boat from another person that did rental from a marina. We live on an acre on the water in a quiet bayou. My husband (Fil) is retired air force of almost 30 years . I am a retired cardiac nurse. We love the outdoors and are fairly active with running and working on construction projects.
My husband wanted a house boat and I agreed if I could rent it out. Now during a time of a pandemic we offer a safer alternative to high volume high rises and still enjoy the water and beaches that this area has to offer
You can swim in our water or a 10 min trip to the most beautiful beaches in the world! We are 7 miles from Destin, 20 miles from the famed 30A. There is fishing here, at the beach or the pier just a few miles away.
