The location was breathtaking and very conveniently located to downtown. The hosts were lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Just know if you book during the summer months that this cabin does not have a/c. We happened to be there during an unusually hot weekend and it was tough to get comfortable the first night. The host did bring us a cooler fan and that did help quite a bit.Overall we loved our stay and would book here again.
Sunset ranch is the perfect distance away from town. Has excellent fishing, and hospitable owners/hosts. Richie the Ranch Dog is our buddy, and is very friendly. We love coming back as often as we can.
The property was beautiful with both a stocked pond and a river within easy walking distance. My husband did some fishing and caught a variety of fish. The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. This is an excellent property to visit and relax in. Itâs also close to Pagosa Springs if you want to shop or eat out. We would definitely recommend it.
This house was in a great location! It was close to the downtown area and easy to find. Having the river on site was perfect and our kids spent hours playing there! The kids also really enjoyed playing on the tire swings, playing with the dogs, and exploring around. Lots of outdoor fun! The house was clean, welcoming, and well equipped. The property owners were friendly and helpful.
We had an excellent week at Sunset Ranch! The evergreen wooded setting is restful and pastoral. Cedar Cabin provided for all our needs. Richie the giant Golden Retriever was our host, companion and guide for our stay. Thank you to the entire family who shared their ranch with us! We look forward to our next visit!
A great place to get away and relax. It was peaceful with beautiful views. A nice, short walk down to the San Juan River to fish or just hang out. Some traffic noise from Hwy 160 but not too bad. Ritchie the Golden Retriever was a welcome companion and the owners were kind and gracious and respected our privacy. This will now be a regular destination.
We had a great stay at Sunset Ranch -Cedar Cabin. The fact that they welcome dogs is superb! Benny enjoyed meeting Richie and seeing him each day on the porch. Our dog Charlie as infatuated with Bell the cow. My daughter and I also enjoyed the horses and cow. The location was perfect as we were in town to celebrate Christmas with our daughter in laws family who have a cabin nearby. The weather cooperated and we had a white Christmas. Definitely recommend.
Lovely property with room to explore along the river or pond. Richie the golden retriever is a sweet boy. Some minor issues in the cabin itself but the owner helped out. Could have been cleaner too. We would still visit again. Close enough to town to enjoy activities but far enough away to feel in nature.
Nice and cozy cabin with 2 large bedrooms with king size beds. Large bathroom with nice shower. Fully stocked kitchen with gas stove đ!
Living room kind of small for more than 2-3 people but there's so much to do in the area we weren't there except at night. Rented a pontoon boat for a couple hours to cruise around the lake (highly recommended!)
We will definitely return!
Place was spacious and clean. The property was incredible. You can see some of the corners they cut while fixing up the place though and there is a bit of maintenance that needs to be done especially on the entry slider door and the grill outside. Kept feeling like I was going to break the door while going in or out and the grill should be thrown out immediately!
Had a great stay at the Cedar Cabin, excellent location for all our planned activities which included, snowboarding at wolf creek and the hot springs in Pagosa. Property has beautiful views, a nice pond and very friendly dogs. They have excellent communication and we all enjoyed our stay. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
On the day we were suppose to stay we wrote an email and called - no response - got there and went to cabin on right per instructions - very very dirty - called three more times and knocked on the main house - again nothing. We had been on the road for five hours - booked another place -host finally called at 745 - said we were in wrong cabin- she would not answer question about a refund - I told her to please answer our question on a refund - told her we would be contacting an attorney and cc company - she said she would talk to owner - never heard back again - she wrote us a note that we needed to quit contacting her with questions and we were banned from property - awful start to our vacation - still never heard on our refund - just beware
Great weekend up in Pagosa Springs. Our snow sports got cancelled due to lack of snow in town, but we found a lot of fun for the kids on the ranch. Great little walks, wonderful animals and friendly staff. We came for sports, but got great relaxation which is just what we needed.
The property is lovely with a sweet retriever who greets you. Could have been better communication with property manager..she never inyeracted with us..tub was dirty and we cleaned it. Overall it is a very peaceful and relaxing property and convenient to town.
Thought weâd have a view of the river but did not. It was , however only a short walk.
Access to the river is limited due to very heavy stream side brush most of the property.
Labor Day weekend in Pagosa Springs was just nuts -- the town was full. But a couple of miles to the northeast, we were relaxing in the peace and quiet, and relative isolation, of the Sunset Ranch.
Whenever we wanted to walk down to the river, whether to fish or just explore, Richie, the Ranch's extremely mellow Golden Retriever, was happy to act as tour guide. And sitting on the porch listening to the breeze in the pines sure beat the hustle and bustle of town.
Context is important, and for a rustic cabin in the woods, this gets high marks.
Excellent property/cabins with river access and pet friendly! Close enough to town but far enough away to enjoy a little solitude! We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Sunset ranch!
