Absolutely super, really didnât want to leave, so homely and comfortable ,and a wonderful host, quiet peaceful charming. I would highly recommend Apple Cottage !!
Very comfy, well appointed cottage. Paula was great to deal with and the location suited us as we wanted to walk the Brecon Beacons, (10 minutes away) and also walk the Mumbles coast line (1 hour away.)
A lovely cottage that feels very homely! It was lovely and quiet, and it was so nice to stay somewhere that felt more like a home. My dog also loved the secure garden. Only thing I would say is it would be nice to have your own control over the heating but we didnt find it too cold this time of year.
Wonderful cottage and great host!
We loved this dear cottage which was full of character and had a pretty garden which our dogs enjoyed very much being townie dogs.
Location is perfect, so quiet, with great views, and ideally situated for visiting all the beautiful areas around.
The bed is divine! Very comfortable and we slept better than we had for ages.
Paula was a lovely host, there to give advice on the area (there was a helpful folder with info on great places to visit too) but not intrusive at all.
Definitely will be booking again!
I stayed at Paula's lovely little cottage for just one night as a friend was having a birthday party nearby. It was a great find as it was cute, cosy and had everything my friend and I needed. Paula had left a couple of little welcome touches for us which was very welcome and she was happy to be flexible on our timings to accommodate any hangovers, which was very appreciated.
The beds were amazingly comfortable, both the mattress and the bedding so I could have stayed there forever.
As it was only one night I didn't use much of the facilities or explore the area but it looked like everything that we would have needed to cook for ourselves was there and the view of the hills at the front made me wish I'd brought my walking boots, a clearer head and a bit more time.
I'd definitely recommend this cottage for a couple or small group who wanted to explore the area. It certainly helps you to realise you are in the countryside.
Thanks Paula!
Easy access and simple cottage. Very nice and helpful owner lives next to the cottage. Excellent pubs within 3 miles, eg: Raven and Tradeger, trails all around. Fenced back garden gives you a peace of mind if you have a dog. Groceries- Nisa a mile and 24 hr Tesco 5 miles. Petrol/Diesel 2miles away. ( or in Tesco) . There are more than 50 DVD movies in the cottage and free WiFi. Just enjoyed the holidays.
Apple cottage is lovely. Perfect for getting into the mountains or to the beach.
Paula is a perfect host, there if you need her. The cottage is cosy with everything you need for a holiday. The garden is lovely and very safe and secure for a dog to enjoy. An ideal base for exploring the area.
My dog, Elvis, and I had a great week. Different walks every day all within easy reach. I will definitely be going back to Apple Cottage!
We had a lovely long weekend in the cottage, itâs perfect for two people, with room for two dogs too! The garden is beautiful and gets the sun all day, and itâs enclosed for letting the dogs out so we spent lots of time relaxing out there. The cottage is a good base for exploring the Brecon Beacons, you can get straight out into the countryside from the cottage; good for walking and cycling.
We definitely liked our stay in Wales, the cottage looked very nice.
Of course it's an old cottage, not for tall people, but that's not really a problem. Some negative points we experienced unfortunately were the beds - the matresses were really much too soft and the bed was quite narrow. This could be a personal taste. Which does not apply to the toilet - hard to flush and a loose seat. We missed a normal table to sit at and have our meals, the shower doors are quite tricky, the lights downstairs were not meant for reading and a bedside table was not available, although you can easily use one of the drawers. If you're having your meals in the cottage and prepare them as well, you might miss some utensils, and you definitely need to wash up a lot, there's not too many of those. Sitting in the kitchen is not that enjoyable, next to each other - as is sitting in the living room which has no table. In the garden you can sit - we had great weather - but the bench is quite narrow and we are certainly not that big. A long meal in the garden literally is a pain in the ass......In short : the cottage looked great, but the practical use we found rather limited.
Finally, the owner forgot to send us the code we needed to enter the cottage, and the phone was not on when I phoned the number given. Fortunately that turned out alright, since after ten minues waiting Paula arrived and let us in.
All in all, a little more care towards practical use would not be amiss.
Paula was kind in accommodating us for three nights, with short notice. She was very friendly and generous and made sure that we had all we needed, without being intrusive. We loved the cottage and its beautiful, bird-friendly garden with interesting features. It is also a good base for visiting National Botanic Garden of Wales, Gower peninsula and Brecon Beacons.
Just what we needed, loved the walks. We saw deer, nd the falls. Lovely and quiet

Excellent accommodation in a relaxing setting. If you want peace this is for you.
My husband and I stayed at Apple Cottage while we were looking at properties to buy. Paula who owns the cottage was very hospitable and helpful with her local knowledge. The accommodation was comfortable and spotlessly clean. A bottle of wine and Pringles were waiting for us on our arrival also a dish of chocolates. The cottage and gardens were excellent to relax in after our busy days looking at properties. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone. We will certainly be returning.
The owner even left a bottle of wine and tub of pringles for us. What a lovely thing to do. The cottage was spotless and had lots of character. The garden was pretty and safe for the dogs .
The cottage is small, the stairs are narrow and steep, as long as you don't mind that, you,ll be fine. The cottage had everything we needed and more, everything had been thought of. The double bed was very comfy, the shower was brilliant, the garden is delightful.
The owner Paula is next door, she was kind and helpful but not intrusive.
