Very good for vacation rental.
Some may find shower stalls too small; also some may find the modern fixtures in bathrooms and kitchen require some basic explanation/directions for use (i.e. too late when in shower and no glasses on to find out which faucett to use and how).
We chose to stay here as we were at our nieces wedding at Sandon Hall only 10 minutes away. We had decided to make a weekend of it with our Son and Mum. The house is lovely and clean, we didn't experience the surrounding area other than the supermarket. The house is in a quiet residential area, with Morrisons and Aldi close by if you need them.
We did have a couple of teething problems on arrival, one being we couldn't find the towels on arrival, we found them in a wardrobe when looking for the boiler instructions. However, Lisa did respond to me and we were all sorted.
Our only comment to Lisa & Dominic would be to put all the Utility instructions in a folder for easy finding, we have stopped at many places before in the UK & abroad and this has always been a great help, especially if you're only there a couple of nights.
Lisa was incredibly responsive with the multiple queries we had before booking. The property was in a nice area and exactly as described. It was a great base for our family to do what we wanted to do Would not hesitate to recommend this
Pictures don't do property justice. Many rentals are kitted out very minimally but this was a true homely home ... everything you could have wanted was there. It was beautifully presented and immaculate. Location fab ... right by lovely canalside walks. Would highly recommend.
As the home is described is how the home is. Delightful.
Very convenient to make visits within Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire & Cheshire without even touching the motorway(M6). Although this is conveniently nearby if thats your road of choice.
The local town still has much charm with local needs met in both shops & restaurants.
The house is in a tranquil setting just steps away from the canal and lovely walks to enjoy the countryside and watch the barges going by at their steady pace.
Overall the house is peaceful and cosy and was easy to relax in..
Owner quick to respond and would recommend as your place of stay if you are wishing to be around this area.
Lovely family home for a short break. The house is only about 30metres from the canal, which provides a lovely towpath walk along the canal into the centre of Stone. Chill out time watching the canal boats at the lock gates.
The main purpose of our visit to the area was to visit Drayton Manor, Alton Towers and Monkey Forest, this property provided a good base for these. Visiting during Scarefest did mean that we had minimal time to enjoy the house as leaving Alton Towers after 9pm every night. The night that we did light the wood burner it did provide a lovely aroma in the house for a family movie night.
Stone has some lovely restaurants, we enjoyed both tapas and Italian. The main street of the village is mainly charity shops though.
Only shop on the doorstep is the local petrol station that sells essentials.
Great location. Near the Peak District, Alton Towers, Trentham Monkey Park, Trentham Outlet shopping, Cannock Chase Woods, Downs Banks, Potteries (Wedgwoods), Shugborough etc...
Lovely property very well furnished within easy walking distance to Stone town center and Stone Railway station. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.
