The property was really clean and had everything we needed for our night away. Plenty of parking, free wifi and all mod cons. The beds were really comfy and it was really quiet. Would definitely return and would highly recommend to others. Only slight downside was the size of the TV (approx. 28") , but as we spent most of our time chatting it didn't distract from an otherwise perfect stay. Great pub down the lane with lovely food if you wanted a break from the fully equipped kitchen. We even had a walk around to see the cows in the morning.
Dovecote was a fantastic space for 6 adults our group of 4 adults over 70, husband and myself, could not wish for better everything was there home from home and communication with Amanda was second to none, all beds comfortable with quality bedding, two modern bathrooms upstairs and downstairs ,the kitchen had everything and more, left the full breakfast cooking to the men folk in our group, the lounge area is fabulous for all our group to be together, the sofa s recline and the two big arm chairs so comfortable that my mum wanted to take one home, outside seating is delightful looking outward to beautiful countryside, do not hesitate to book, so close to beautiful villages with two great pubs serving lovely food, nearby Southwell is a pretty little town. could not fault anything, a real treat of a place for family, friends to enjoy.
Family get together to celebrate Diamond Anniversary
We had 7 family members between 17 and 83 and the accommodation was perfect for us. There was enough room for us all to be together but not tripping over each other. There was comfy seats for everyone and we could all eat together. The ears was so peaceful and the villages and towns around there are well worth a visit. We twice visited the Full moon pub in Morton, 1/4 mile easy walk. The staff we so friendly and the food fabulous. Definitely recommend a visit there. Southwell town was lovely too.
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying in Valerieâs beautiful property at Lodge Barn for 2 nights. We stayed in The Dovecote part of the barn conversion. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived, was well-equipped for our self-catering needs and we found the information book extremely helpful.
When we had a minor query shortly after arrival (location of patio door keys), Amanda, who looks after the property, was easy to contact and helped us out straight away.
The living areas of the property were beautiful and spacious. Our group was made up of family and a few friends, to have a relaxing get-together before my daughterâs wedding next month and we stayed at Valerieâs property the night before we checked in at the fairly nearby Eden Hall Spa.
We would definitely recommend this property to stay and wouldnât hesitate to book another visit next time we need a relaxing break. A big thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable.
The Barn is in a fantastic location with a lovely country pub serving great food just a short walk away.
The barn was very clean with all the essential equipment to make our family stay perfect. The fenced off outdoor area allowed our dogs to wander outside safely and the grass areas just passed the fence were ideal for short exercise and toilet needs.
With Nottingham only 30 min drive away it's in an ideal location for days out.
I would highly recommend and will definitely look to book again in the future.
This cottage had everything we needed for our stay here. I was looking for a fairly spacious cottage that would be suitable for our family in the run up to my daughterâs wedding and where we could enjoy a few relaxing days afterwards. There are 2 good sized double bedrooms and 2 quite small single rooms. The lounge dining room is large and comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. We had everything we needed for our stay and enjoyed the time that we had exploring the surrounding area. We had a good meal at the Bromley Arms and there appeared to be some nice restaurants in Southwell although many were opening reduced hours since lockdown especially on Sunday.
We had a lovely time here in Nottinghamshire for our annual holiday. The owners were very responsive when we needed them. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely converted barn
really nice and comfortable. Close to local pub. Sherwood easily accessible. There is a lack of basic staples so if staying for any length of time you will have to bring everything you need.
Lovely barn in the countryside. All the mod cons you could need in the kitchen. Clean, comfortable and spacious with lovely views. Two very nice village pubs within walking distance and quite a few more a short drive away.
Booked for next year already :)
The barn was very warm and welcoming, all as described. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well equipped. A very tranquil location on the outskirts of a lovely village. The only downside was poor water pressure in the showers.
I booked this for myself, 3 bridesmaids, my brother-in-law and parents to stay in the night before my wedding and it was perfect đđŒ. Everything we could ask for and more
Everything you could ask for and more , lovely and clean plenty of towels nice bed linen,we stayed nite before daughters wedding and left from their nice area for pre wedding shoot
We really can't praise this property and the owner enough - what a delightful little place to escape from the world for a bit. We had everything we needed, the Dovecote Barn is just delightful and such a cosy place for the family. We can't wait to return in the future
The area is awesome. Great countryside. Lovely pub in the village from us within walking distance. Near the historical town Southwell and also nearby is the town Newark. Southwell race course near by and the River Trent with great fishing and lovely river walk.
