It was a pleasure to stay in this lovely, obviously well cared for and loved home. The private access to the bay through the woods was a delight every day. The house was truly light filled, comfortable, and supplied with all we needed and more. Our hosts, Kate and Jim, were totally available to us for our needs and suggestions for our visit to this quiet, private home in Maine!
This property is a very comfortable, private, light filled home with real character. Real art, real books, no IKEA furniture. It is somewhat dated, but everything works and the kitchen was well supplied. Wi-fi was excellent, beds firm and comfortable, water pressure fine, and the rocky beach - a 5 minute walk through the woods - is a lovely place to sit and sun or take a (very) cooling dip. It is a 15-20 minute drive to nearest store and the local winding, narrow roads make running or biking an adventure near the house.
We had a lovely stay in Cushing. The home has a charming open layout with great daylighting and comfortable furnishings. The interior design is fantastic! The kitchen was well appointed and like the rest of the property, was very clean. Being nature enthusiasts, we enjoyed the peaceful environment and the beautiful surroundings, spending mornings and evenings on the deck. A well-marked path will lead you to water access, and a few minutes' walk from the property is the Pleasant Point Nature Preserve, which is a great place for an easy hike among the resident wood thrushes. On this visit we also spent time in Friendship, Port Clyde and Rockland, all within reasonable driving distance. Our gracious hosts Kate and Jim live nearby and generously made themselves available if anything was needed. My partner and I have stayed at many properties in Maine, and this one is now our favorite.
