This home worked perfectly for our family get together. The kitchen was well stocked and the large eating spaces, both inside and out on the patio, allowed for some great meals and fun game nights. There were plenty of beds for all the grown children and a very nice master for Mom & Dad! This place made for a great home base while enjoying all of McCall's outdoor activities. Thanks for sharing your place.
Lots of room and beds to accommodate a large group. Cabin was clean with the exception of the kitchen. I had to wash every dish before it could be used. Coffee pot was dirty, cupboards were dirty (crumbs and spilled food) and dishes were just thrown in the cupboards. Silverware drawer had food and hair in it. No instruction for check out or pellet stove operation. A nice place to stay if the kitchen had a good cleaning.
The front door was unlocked when we got there. The keys were left in the door way to the owners locked pantry. The bedrooms were very dirty. There were candy wrappers on the floor and shoved under the beds. The top of a Skippy Peanut Butter Jar was left on the floor of the bedroom with peanut butter still on it. The bedding also did not look clean. There was long hair all over the fitted sheet. When we went to cook breakfast we noticed the stove had a massive crack on the cook top. We took a picture and sent it to the Vacasa Team. They informed us that someone would be over from the local team and no one ever contacted us. The dishes were dirty in the cupboards. We had to wash them before we could use them. There were not enough towels for 12 people to use. The garbage outside was almost full, so we could only add two bags of trash. We had to leave the rest of the trash out next to the backdoor. The worst part was the joint that was left out by the back door for my kids to find. In all the cleaning of this house needs to improve it definetly made me want to sleep with the lights on.
Easy process checking in (lockbox), property was clean (except under couches there was popcorn) well heated, and spacious enough for 11 adults and two kids. Kitchen had everything we needed. Snow plowed the road daily, and had neighboring cabins but far enough away to have privacy. Could not find fire pit as the snow plow buried it. It was overall a great Christmas holiday.
Over all we had a great time! But, there was lots of things that weren't cleaned. Drool marks on the pillows, popcorn in a bowl under master bedroom bed, beer cans behind night stands, lots of dead bugs in the windows,, and we kept having to kill ants! The screen up stairs is broken like listed, the water does smell pretty bad but leave it running for a while it gets better.
This place was the perfect size for our family of 9! Plenty of space and more than enough beds. Thereâs a few things that I would mention needs some attention. Within 10 minutes of arrival, our 2 year old found an empty beer can under the couch but not a huge deal at all. The upstairs shower did not work. These next two things have been previously mentioned by people who stayed here in the past. The water from every faucet smells like sulfur (rotten eggs.) run the dishwasher? Stench. Run the downstairs shower? Stench. Wash your hands in the sink? Stench. After doing some research I discovered there is nothing anyone can do about that. Some older homes that run well water just have that sulfur smell in the water. Also the upstairs bedroom with 4 beds in it has a broken screen which could be dangerous if your kids open the window. Itâs probably a 15â to 20â drop straight down. All in all we loved the place but the items I mentioned are so future renters can be aware.
Loved the scenery! Almost no traffic passing by, neighbors were far enough away. Most ammenities I needed were available. Plenty of space, fit my entire family no problem, plus my parents. The only negatives were an upstairs window didn't have a screen and there was a hornets nest starting... Very dangerous for little kids to fall out the window. Also there was no laundry detergent (even though the owner requested we start a load of towels when leaving), and we ran out of propane while cooking our first meal. But no big deal, it's a great spot if you don't need to be right on the lake.
