This was a good property, and we did like itâŠmostly. Itâs close to downtown Boone, which is one of the best parts about it, in our opinion. But there are a few other things to consider if you are looking at this property for a stay.
1. It needs a really good cleaning/dusting for cobwebs, which were in abundance (especially on the 2nd floor). It wasnât filthy or anything, just hadnât been polished up in a while. There were little areas that hadnât been touched in some time. It wasnât disgusting or anything, just not what weâve experienced in other well rated VRBOâs.
2. We were trying to get some work done (yes, I know, while on a short getaway. Please donât judge too harshly.), and the Wi-Fi kept going out regularly. We were able to fix by unplugging the router and plugging it back in. If this isnât a concern of yours, no worries.
3. Stay here for closeness to town and not seclusion. While it is a few hundred feet from the neighbors, you definitely know theyâre there. A neighboring dog likes to bark most of the night, which kept us awake. Ear plugs solved the problem, and I certainly wonât hold the property owners accountable for someone elseâs behavior. But again, just something to consider.
4. Itâs tighter than it looks. The bathrooms and bedrooms are very utilitarian and functional, but I wouldnât say my 6â-5â frame was able to stretch out. We definitely had some bumps on the head from the upstairs bedrooms.
All in all, itâs a 3-3.5 out of 5 stars for us. It is bad, but certainly doesnât warrant the 4.5+ rating. But I truly hope our experience was the exception, and that if you and your family choose to stay, that itâs everything you could hope for and more.
