Excellent and Comfortable Stay

Our family booked 6 nights at this wonderful property. The property was clean with amazing scenic views of the surrounding property and ocean. It was wonderful to have full access to all the hotel amenities at Westin and Mauna Kea sister resorts. Both beaches were beautiful and perfect. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Big Island.

Great unit in a beautiful community

M101 at Wai ‘ula ‘ula was a perfect place for our family. The 2 master suites plus the additional bedroom & bath were very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. From beach chairs & towels to the amenities in the fully equipped kitchen, the unit lacked almost nothing. The furnishings and decor were tastefully done in an island style. The lanai was comfortable and clean. I would recommended this unit to families and would stay there again.

Overall good, not perfect.

I stayed here with my wife and 2 other couples for 8 nights this February. What drew me to this rental was the access to the amenities at Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince resorts. This worked out perfectly and we greatly enjoyed both beaches. Mauna Kea resort in particular has spectacular service, but very limited public parking (only 20 spots which fill up very early), so having a resort pass made this stress-free. The condo itself is very nice with higher-end finishes. The pictures do it justice, but we had a few small issues: - No beach chairs in the garage. There are boogies boards and a few other toys. Without chairs it is hard to enjoy other beaches, so we stuck to Hapuna/Mauna Kea, where they have lounge chairs set up for you. - The gas grill on the patio performed very poorly. In fact we had to call maintenance from the resort 3 times to help us get it started. We let the property manager know but they didn't seem too interested in permanently fixing this.

We love to stay at the MaunaKea Residences and enjoy the easy access to the beach and restaurants. This time we had a slight problem in that the condo was not stocked with toilet paper, we called twice and they never delivered any. This property is not close to any store. Otherwise, great stay!

If I owned a place in paradise it would be this condo!

Another Five Star (the highest number of stars available) stay at M101!! We’re repeat renters of this condo and every year it feels more PERFECT! The care and investment the owners have made in M101 is evident in that everything is fresh! If I owned a place in this Hawaiian paradise it would be furnished like this and sit in this exact spot. About the condo: top of the line kitchen appliances, full size washer and dryer, TVs in every room, WiFi, a garage, outdoor sitting area, view of the ocean, mountain, golf course. In addition to the great condo, renters have access to the Mauna Kea and Hapuna resort’s, two of the finest resorts on the Big Island. The beaches, pools, fitness centers, restaurants, spas are fantastic!! The benefit of the condo over a resort room: no housekeeping interruptions, ability to spend as much or as little as you want on meals without spending $50+ for a bagel and coffee for two. The perfect condo, at the best resorts= a GREAT VACATION!! I cannot wait to stay at M101 again...in 4 months!!!

We Found Paradise

Spacious Living. Peaceful and quiet . Such a clean and well equipped condo. Access to great amenities. We have been to Wai'Ula'Ula 6 times with our young kids. The last 2 times have been here at this condo. We plan to make it a 3rd time. Very well maintained and very clean. The owners take great pride in providing a top quality vacation experience. Some of the many things we especially like about this unit. It sits at the end of the neighborhood (last building) which means we have seen only goats and golfers passing by the lanai. It feels so remote and peaceful. The owners give access to their garage where our kids gather their sand toys and boogie boards for our beach days.

The owners are true hosts supplying all high end details to make you feel you are in a luxury resort with all the comforts of home. The view was wonderful. The space was quite private. I enjoyed walking the area each morning. The only thing I did not enjoy, no fault of the owners, was not knowing there would be so many flys. Maybe something other pp would know about this location or this time of year. The access to the beaches/resorts was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.

Beautiful and Relaxing Mauna Kea Residence

My family spent 5 nights at the beautiful and relaxing Wai'ula'ula M101 condominium. I chose this condo both for its size and amenities offered, as we were looking for a special experience for our 25th wedding anniversary and family trip. The condo was clean and beautiful and felt very private. The high end appliances in the kitchen and grill on the lanai made cooking enjoyable. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the golf course, ocean, and sunsets from the lanai each evening. My teens enjoyed walking to the nearby amenity center and swimming in the infinity edge pool and working out in the gym. I enjoyed morning walks through the hilly and peaceful neighborhood. The access to the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel (currently undergoing a huge remodel to Westin) and Mauna Kea Beach Resorts was one of the primary reasons we stayed at Wai'ula'ula, and that did not disappoint. The resort access cards provided convenient parking access to both resorts and the chair and towel service was a wonderful convenience. We couldn't decide which of the two resort/ beaches we liked better, as both were spectacular in different ways. It was less than an hour drive to Waipi'o and Hawi for ATV and zip-lining adventures and beautiful lush scenery. Our favorite restaurant was the Seafood Bar and Grill just a short 10 minute drive up the coast. Mauna Lani and Waikoloa resort communities and shopping are both within 10-15 minutes drive south. We noticed that the climate was sunny on the Kohala Coast where we stayed, and when we went south to Kailua-Kona or inland to Waimea, it was more cloudy and wet, so we appreciated the weather there. If you want a quiet, relaxing, and beautiful vacation with driving access to both Kailua-Kona and all that the beautiful Kohala Coast has to offer, then this is the place to stay.

The peaceful and gentle world/平和で穏やかな空間

I stayed at M101 with my daughter and two friends. It was just a great place, was very clean, so quiet and peaceful. I loved to have breakfast on the lanai, clean air and wanderful view were also our treat. It was such a luxurious time for me. We enjoyed the both beaches at Mauna Kea hotel and Hapuna Prince. They both were very nice beaches, beach towels and beachbeds, umbrellas were all prepared. It was so peaceful to listen to the tone of the wave. It was wanderful experience to stay at such a nice and peaceful place, and hope to come back again. I wish I could write my review accurately in English. I just want to tell how much I love this place, and give more than 5 stars! Thank you very much for a wanderful relaxing vacation. 私はM101に娘と友人たちと滞在しました。そこはとてもとても静かで、平和で落ち着いた素晴らしいコンドミニアムでした。すべてが清潔で、設備が整い、とてもリラックスできる空間でした。家具のセンスも素敵でとても落ち着いた雰囲気で、リネンも水回りも清潔です。特に朝食をラナイで食べるのはとても贅沢な時間でした。おいしい空気と素晴らしい景色もすべてご馳走でした。マウナケアとハプナのビーチにも行きましたが、とても静かで素晴らしいビーチです。パラソルやベッド、ビーチタオルも完備しており、プール清潔で綺麗でした。波の音を聞いているとリラックスでき穏やかな気持ちでした。とても素晴らしい休日をこの場所で過ごすことができ大満足です。出来ることならまた戻ってきたいと思います。

Pristine Wai'ula'ula Condo

This is the second time we have stayed at M101 and we just loved it. Because it is in the highest building it feels very private. The owner is extremely responsive and on island management is through the Mauna Kea Resort. The unit is beautifully furnished and the kitchen has everything you need when you decide to cook in. There are ample towels and linens, and the furniture is very comfortable. The amenity package with Mauna Kea is included which makes the great golf at Hapuna and Mauna Kea more affordable. Beach access is simple using the hotel facilities. We have vacationed in Hawaii over 20 times, but we have settled on the Big Island as our favorite place. M101 has provided us with a luxurious, relaxing vacation home and we have already booked for next year. Be sure to try a trip with Authentic Hawaiian Sails out of Mauna Kea Beach. Whale watching, snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins was great and the crew was a hoot. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Fabulous!

Photos and description are exactly what you get.......a beautiful and extremely clean villa. Check in and Check out were simple along with all other directions. Using the resort amenities was wonderful. We especially enjoyed walking to the pool/clubhouse just down the street. Perfect set up for 3 couples.

A nice relaxing week.

Didn't really love it, we liked it. Nice property, liked the sliding doors and access to the patio. Golf course and ocean view was good but we couldn't see the sunset which was a downer. We would look for a better view next time.

Simply excellent

This wonderful 3bed/3bath unit was a great launch pad for our family vacation. The until is very close to the best beach on the island and includes resort access. High end furnishings are awaiting you after long physical days in the ocean, at the volcano, or anything else you might be up for. The gourmet kitchen and gas grill were a real treat as we actually enjoyed cooking several nights. The grounds were immaculate, the views were incredible, and the serenity was amazing. We rarely heard anyone else at all. Highly recommended. We hope to return to this unit very soon.

Fantastic Space & Location

I couldn't have been more happy with this unit. The views are absolutely amazing. We had everything we could have possibly needed--cookware, beach towels, beach toys. The beds were amazing and I slept soundly. The property surrounding the area is fantastic. In terms of property amenities, between the Association club house and what is offered at Hapuna Prince and Mauna Kea, we had it all. By having access to the beaches at both hotels was a great perk and we definitely did not feel like we were missing anything. I highly recommend this unit.

Gorgeous view. Relaxing on the lanai cannot be beat!

This is fourth time staying at the Wai ulu ulu condos. Our favorite is M101. We loved having coffee in the morning on the lanai and dinner out there just before sun went down. We always love the pool at Hapuna Prince Beach and the amazing beach at Mauna Kea hotel. This is the life. The condo offers great privacy for two families with the bedrooms in two different areas of condo. The condo pool and gym are great on days you want to stay closer to home. Worth every penny and management very accommodating. Will be back again.

Best Ever!

My wife and I have been to Hawaii over 20 times, rarely missing a year. We finally settled on the Big Island as our favorite. We have stayed at the Hilton, at Hali'a Kai and at Waiulaula/Mauna Kea. Last year we spent 3 weeks in a different condo and we had the chance to look around. We were able to see M101 and actually met the owner. We decided to book it for 4 weeks and are we ever glad we did. Simply put, this unit is outstanding. The condition and furnishings are top notch. As the pictures show, the decor is stunning. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want. On arrival we didn't find a martini shaker, but I'm happy to report there is one now:). This is a great community, but M101 is in the last building which makes it even more private. A mile or so north you will find the Seafood Bar and Cafe Pesto which are both good places to eat. Mauna Kea Beach is wonderful and we recommend the 2 hour trip with Authentic Hawaiian Sails. We enjoyed good whale watching, snorkeling and swimming with dolphins. The trips are limited to 6 people and leave from the beach at the Mauna Kea. We also recommend a trip to the volcano. Return through Hilo and stop at the botanical gardens. Finally a tour van down into Waipio Valley is breathtaking. There is so much to see on the Big island. It is even more special with a great rental like M101. The owner is very responsive and the staff at Mauna Kea are great.Don't forget the golf. Both courses are challenging and the views are unforgettable. Assuming we stay healthy we will go back to the Big Island and we will definitely stay at M101.

Waiulaula in Mauna Kea was spectacular!

Our family of 6 found the condo at Waiulaula to be perfect! The open floor plan with the indoor/outdoor feature was nice for whale watching. Having access to both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach Clubs was a nice amenity as well. The unit itself had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The only thing we would recommend would be new mattresses for both master suites.

Extraordinary escape to paradise!!

Hale Melia, a beautifully appointed showcase home, is a fabulous place to stay - from the panoramic ocean, mountain and golf views outside to the lovely furnishings and elegant island décor inside! The quiet ground floor unit is luxurious, spacious, sparkling clean and really well-maintained. No lugging of suitcases, purchases, beach gear, etc. up and down stairs is required. From this private end unit location on the highest elevation in the Wai 'Ula 'Ula complex, it is so easy to pop over to either Mauna Kea or Hapuna for golf and walks on the beach. We loved having access to the two hotels and their amenities throughout our stay. The Tommy Bahama writing desk in one of the master suites affords phenomenal views, so logging in for some occasional meetings and work was stress-free. Mauna Kea Resort Services was really friendly and efficient - their stock and shop offering is awesome! With an advance order, we arrived to a well-stocked refrigerator filled with our favorite foods and beverages. We replenished supplies the same way midway through our stay and really enjoyed cooking in the gourmet kitchen and on the lanai with the BBQ. Sunsets from the lanai are absolutely breathtaking - just like the photo at the website! Some of the sites we took in: lunch and tour at the Hawaiian Vanilla Company; Kula Caverns Caves (be prepared to crawl on your hands and knees!); Thunder Mountain Coffee; Hamakua Macadamia Nut Factory; and both the Sunday brunch and the famous luau at Mauna Kea. The kids loved the Dolphin Quest at Hilton Waikoloa; Ocean Rider Seahorse Farm and the island honus at Puako black sand beach (just a short drive from the condo). We also appreciated having the small kids' chairs in the unit. We miss waking up to the ocean view every morning and we definitely plan to return to Hale Melia again. Mahalo for sharing your island home with us! PS - be sure to visit the Original Big Island Shave Ice Company truck in Kawaihae - a 5-10 minute drive - for the best shave ice on the island! In Kona, don't forget to stop at Mrs. Barry's cookies and Kailua Candy Company.

The PERFECT PLACE to RELAX IN PARADISE

I've been remiss in posting my review as work caught up with me on my return home...how I miss Hawaii and our stay at this wonderful condo! We regularly visit Hawaii and usually stay at the Mauna Kea resort. We were taking this trip with another couple and decided to look into a condo. I was skeptical about staying at a condo as I like the amenities the Mauna Kea resort offers. I'll start this review by saying we enjoyed our stay at this condo so much that we're booking it again for the Spring 2017! 1) The unit is on the ground floor, very spacious, has an outdoor covered patio and is beautifully furnished! 2) The patio and living room face a hole on the Hapuna golf course, the mountains and has a partial ocean view. It's very private. 3) All of the kitchen appliances are high end and is stocked with everything you would need to prepare and serve a meal. It was very convenient and cost effective to prepare our own breakfast, lunch or dinners rather than pay high restaurant prices at a resort. 4) The bedrooms are large, the beds very comfortable. There are two master suites with their own bathroom and another large bedroom with a hall bathroom. 5) There is a full size washer and dryer in the condo. 6) Not that you'll watch too much tv but there is cable tv in every room. 7) There is a garage for covered parking and a guest space. 8) I usually have to rent boogie boards but there are boogie boards and other beach gear for condo guest use in the garage. 9) The condo sits between the Hapuna and Mauna Kea resorts. As a condo guest you have beach, golf course, pool, fitness center and restaurant access at both resorts. We played both golf courses, used the beaches and fitness centers. There's a key for the parking lot at Mauna Kea so it was easy to use the amenities at my favorite resort! I could go on for pages about how easy it was staying at this condo for a week. My wife and I are very picky and this condo checks all of the boxes for a great Hawaii experience!! I highly recommend this condo!

Home away from home

We stayed at this location last summer and it was perfect in all respects. The condo was amazingly clean and well maintained. All the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms stocked with fluffy towels and other wonderful amenities. The overall location was perfect. We were able to get in some sight seeing and still make it back to the property to enjoy the beautiful sunset. One of the really great features of this particular condo is that you can access the various programs offered by the Mauna Kea Resort. They had wonderful activities for the kids, interacting with locals and learning local traditions like coconut picking/cracking, basket weaving with local plants and net fishing. It was actually a wonderful experience for both the adult and kids. You also get priority for golf and tennis reservations (a big plus for dad). We saved some money by cooking at the condo and BBQing on the patio. All the appliances are high end (many better than we have at home). The patio view is great and so relaxing! We will definitely stay here again.

The Perfect Place to Stay - the Hale Melia!

We stayed at M101 during our June vacation at the Mauna Kea Resort. The condo is lovely, chic, spacious, very comfortable and well maintained. The on island staff are friendly, responsive and very accommodating. We loved sitting in the wrap around lanai with the drop dead ocean and mountain views and in the late afternoon, watch the sunset - gorgeous and very relaxing! Condo location? Perfect! Very private and quiet but still a hop and a skip to the private amenity center and to the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. We had free access to both hotels' lovely beaches and facilities. Great fun playing golf at each hotel's golf courses and tennis at the Mauna Kea Seaside Tennis facility where some of their courts are so amazingly close to the ocean. We absolutely loved Hale Melia and will definitely book this condo again on our next vacation at the Mauna Kea Resort.
