Amoureux de la nature et des anciennes demeures françaises, vous serez les bienvenues dans cette charmante propriété familiale datant du 15Úme siÚcle. Elle a été remaniée au 18Úme siÚcle, dans un écrin de verdure au creux d'une vallée.

La maison principale entourée de douves a une grande cuisine, une bibliothÚque, un petit salon, un grand salon et une salle à manger. L'ensemble est baigné de lumiÚre, avec dans chaque piÚce, une cheminée au dessus desquelles de grandes baies vitrées permettent une vue superbe sur un parc de 7 hectares.
Au 1er Ă©tage, 3 trĂšs grandes chambres avec cheminĂ©e et 2 grandes fenĂȘtres chacune, et une chambre plus petite; 3 salles de bains modernes et confortables. L'ensemble de cette maison a Ă©tĂ© restaurĂ© en 2011.

Lovely time spent in Tailly!

I stayed in Tailly for a week with my husband and we loved it! I didn't know this region of France and truly enjoyed the long walks, the quiet and beautiful countryside, the pool, the house, the park... I will definitely come back and recommend! THE HOUSE: Everything was clean, warm colours helped us feel at home along with the fireplace (I know we were in the middle of summer, but we love fireplaces!) and everything went well during our stay. THE GARDEN (should I say the park?!) A huge park comes with the house, it is perfectly maintained, and I was able to meet with the gardener with whom I practiced my poor French! THE SWIMMING POOL 23°C, I swam everyday. My husband and I enjoyed sitting by the pool under the sun, reading on the deckchairs a good part of our stay! OUR HOST Marie welcomed us to give us a tour of the house and explain everything to us. We had a lovely time talking with her, she is from Paris and comes to Tailly every weekend to make sure everything goes perfectly for her guests. It is really nice, and I thank her for the great holidays we spent at her house.

absolument superbe

Un trÚs bel endroit calme et reposant , un parc clos et superbe, une demeure à la mesure de la gentillesse de la propriétaire . Le descriptif est bien en dessous de sa qualité , la vie de chateau , les enfants etaient ravis- heureux , nous étions la pour nous reposer et nous sommes vraiment heureux d'avoir habité ce lieu.je recommande vivement.un restaurant sympa le colimencart.A bientot Marie :-))jac et noelle et les enfants

TrÚs belle propriété pleine de charme

Accueil trÚs chaleureux : bouquet de fleurs, livret d'accueil et petits cadeaux. Nous avons énormément apprécié le confort des grandes chambres et salles de bain ainsi que le parc arboré et la grande piscine. Je recommande vivement cet endroit pour son calme et sa belle nature.

A magical week in Chateau Tailly

This is a lovely property, with a huge amount of character. It is incredibly spacious, comfortable and full of lots of history. On arrival we were given a very warm welcome by the owner, Marie, and her host Flavie who explained all the things we needed to know about the Chateau. This is an historic home, a little careworn but full of character with everything you need. We had five bedrooms to use, which were all very clean and comfortable, as were the sitting room with its lovely fireplace, library and dining room. The kitchen was a little more basic, but had all the things we needed to cook lots of lovely meals. The real showpieces of this property are the swimming pool and the parkland. We spent hours exploring the house and the park, which is beautiful and very private and the kids spent a lot of time in the pool, which is great. I would give a very strong recommendation to anyone with an extended family to book this property. It is good value, in a beautiful but remote part of France. Thank you for a holiday to remember!

außergewöhnliche Location

Das Haus ist wirklich sehr schön und gerĂ€umig. Viele nett eingerichtete Zimmer mit außerordentlichem Charme und nostalgischer AtmosphĂ€re. Das große GrundstĂŒck mit viel Natur und Pool in absoluter Ruhe, lĂ€sst einen zur Ruhe kommen. Abends am Pool die Sterne betrachten ist einfach herrlich. Das Dörfchen Tailly und die Umgebung ist sehr reizend. Empfehlenswert ist auch ein Besuch des Lac de Bairon. Hier kann man in ruhiger AtmosphĂ€re schwimmen, sonnen und Wassersport betreiben. Das Haus ist wirklich etwas Besonderes!

Very nice, quiet and charming

Wonderful place in an unbelievably nice park with beautiful swimming pool. The interior is also very nice and charming, albeit one should not expect five star luxury hotel level. The owner is extremely nice lady who takes her position as a host very seriously and hasn’t even invited us for an apĂ©ritif. The ideal location if you are looking for quiet time with the family.

Auszeit im Paradies

ZunĂ€chst zu siebt, zeitweise zu neunt (4 Erwachsene, 5 Teenager zwischen 11 und 16 Jahren sowie zwei Hunde) haben wir wunderbare Ferien in Tailly verbracht. Neben den in der Beschreibung erwĂ€hnten Zimmern gibt es im Obergeschoß noch mehrere einfach, aber völlig ausreichend ausgestattete Schlafzimmer (zumindest im Sommer, beheizbar sind nur die offiziell aufgefĂŒhrten). Es gibt mit zwei Wohnzimmern und einem Esszimmer jede Mange Platz fĂŒr alle, sodaß man einander auch bei schlechtem Wetter nicht auf die FĂŒĂŸe tritt. Dabei ist die Einrichtung teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen, und wer mit kleinen Kindern reist, wird viel Zeit damit verbringen, die AntiquitĂ€ten zu beschĂŒtzen. Die BĂ€der sind neu renoviert. Die KĂŒche ist recht einfach ausgestattet. Wer mit mehr als sechs Personen anreist, bringt besser noch ein paar große Töpfe mit. Wir haben uns im Haus sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt, an kĂŒhleren Tagen auch vor dem Kaminfeuer. Der Park ist wunderbar und bietet allerlei Möglichkeiten zum Flanieren oder um einfach nur draußen zu sitzen und ins GrĂŒne zu schauen. Alle paar Tage fĂ€hrt ein GĂ€rtner durch und mĂ€ht die Spazierwege. Die Hunde liebten die Möglichkeit, nach Herzenslust zu rennen (fanden allerdings auch schnell die Löcher im Zaun, die wir daraufhin verschlossen) und im Bach zu baden. Der Pool ist großartig und wĂ€re noch viel mehr genutzt worden, wenn wir wĂ€rmeres Wetter gehabt hĂ€tten. Die Umgegend ist erholsam unspektakulĂ€r, sodaß man sich nicht stĂ€ndig verpflichtet fĂŒhlen muß, 1000 SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten zu besichtigen. Wer nach pulsierendem Stadtleben sucht, ist hier allerdings völlig fehl am Platz. Zum Einkaufen von Lebensmitteln bietet sich Stenay an, wo mit dem Auto in einer knappen Viertelstunde ein großer Supermarkt zu erreichen ist. Das essentielle Baguette kann man beim fahrenden BĂ€cker direkt in Tailly kaufen. Die Vermieterin, die nur gelegentlich am Wochenende im Nebenhaus wohnt, hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen, kann interessante geschichtliche HintergrĂŒnde berichten und war immer erreichbar, wenn wir Fragen hatten. Danke dafĂŒr! Alles in allem haben wir eine wunderbare Zeit in Tailly verbracht und können diese Unterkunft nur wĂ€rmstens weiter empfehlen.

Buitenleven

Charmant kasteeltje met heerlijk zwembad in parkachtige tuin met klaterend beekje. Een onbezorgd weekje met de bbq en fijn zwembad. Wat rommelig en verouderde spullen die met een beetje styling en aandacht net wat meer allure aan een verblijf kunnen geven. We realiseren ons ook dat dit familiebezit iets heel speciaals is.

Idyllic peaceful paradise

The chateau is well-appointed, with a fascinating history and lots of space. Set in a large, enclosed park with some wonderfully ancient trees, it was perfect for our dogs who could roam safely and free. The pool is a dream, with lovely fresh cool blue water and surrounded by heat-resistant paving to spare bare feet on hot days. The setting, in the small, immaculately kept village of Tailly, could not be more peaceful, with the silence broken only by the tolling of the church bell on the quarter hours and the occasional tractor chuntering its way home in the evening. The countryside around is beautiful, with gently rolling hills and quiet woods. Marie and Laetitia made us incredibly welcome, and our fortnight could not have been happier.

Unique holiday home in rural France

We were warmly welcomed by Mme. Gay de Tailly and given a tour of the impressive gardens and chateau. She also familiarised us with the workings of the swimming pool and appliances in the house. The gardens are idyllic and contributed to a very luxurious holiday atmosphere. Mme. Gay de TaillyTailly also treated us to cocktails and champagne and told us about the house and it's history. The Meuse region is worth visiting; little towns such as Marville and Montmedie have a wealth of history and there are some nice eateries. Verdun is about 45 minutes by car. Our two young children (4 and 5 years) thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool, the vastness of the gardens and climbing trees in a parc nearby.

wonderful quiet family vacation!

We had a wonderful holiday in Tailly! We were five (including three children, twins aged 11 and a 16 year-old). The owner Marie was extremely kind, very knowledgable and interesting to talk to and made sure that we had everything we needed. The house itself was amazing! it breathed history in every room but was nevertheless comfortable and had everything we needed. The house lies within a huge park, which really gives the impression of space and serenity - my husband went jogging around the grounds, it was that big... The only sounds are those if the small waterfall behind the house. The kids spent most of the time in the pool, which is very clean and big enough to play in with 5 people. to the more practical things: - the supermarket is 15 minutes by car. it has everything one needs. the village also has a few bakeries (some of which are closed in the summer) and a butcher (who is also closed for 3 weeks in the summer). - there is a bread van most mornings in the village at 8.30, no other shops though. - a lovely restaurant is about 15 minutes away, really nice people and the food you come looking for in the French countryside. - the nearest champagne winery we could find is near Reims, about 70 minutes by car. - Reims is lovely, with all the shops and sights. Verdun is also lovely and not just historically interesting, but much smaller. - lovey walks around Tailly. If you are looking for peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings, this is exactly it! We had an extremely relaxing and peaceful holiday and no-one wanted to leave. would definitely come back!

Family Trip in August

We stayed in this beautiful house in our summer holidays with our to kids (8Y) and can just recommend this place. The location is fantastic with very nice interior decoration and a lovely park with outdoor swimming pool. The host was really friendly and helpful. From the place you can easily do some tours to Reims and the Champagne area (1h drive). The whole house was very clean and the Kitchen equipped with everything you are looking for. We would come back for a second time.
