This historic home, and in particular its location, exceeded our expectations. Weâve been coming to Pensacola for 20 years, but never stayed in the downtown area. We were able to walk to endless food options and the bustle of downtown. We live in a historic home, so weâre partial to that kind of charm⊠but this home is beautiful and clean and roomy and cozy.
This is an adorable cottage and so nicely and thoughtfully furnished. My husband andI I were in Pensacola with two granddaughters for our grandson's high school graduation. The location was perfect for walking around the historic district and downtown (including to our grandson:'s graduation venue). There was plenty of parking to accommodate the kids' and grandkids' comings and goings through the week. The one thing that renters might note is that the bunk room is off the downstairs (master) bedroom and you have to go through it to access the master bath. It was fine for our granddaughters to share, but wouldn't provide a third private bedroom space.
Great time in the historic district of downtown Pensacola. A beautiful, historic home in walking distance to top restaurants and a short drive to the beach. We loved our stay!
Great property for a family stay. Very nice layout and yard. Close to everything you could need while in town. Host was very helpful and all communications were flawless. We will absolutely stay again in the future.
Everyone loved the house: our family, our dog, our friends. The location is perfect for walking to everything downtown and the accommodations were wonderfully comfortable.
It was perfect. The house was so clean and pretty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and how convenient it was to restaurants and the wedding venue. Gloria was fantastic and checked in with us. We will definitely be back to relax.
Spacious property in a cute, very walkable neighborhood. Perfect location for visiting family in the area. Easy drive to Pensacola Beach and NAS Pensacola. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Great stay. Perfect for our family needs. The home is beautifully decorated and clean. We especially loved our walks through the historic neighborhood.
Fantastic Stay at the Red Door House in Historic Pensacola
Very well kept historic home. It has great character and is in a fantastic location for both downtown Pensacola and the beach--we enjoy both.
Gloria is the best property manager too.
Thank you--we will be back!
This is the second time we stayed at the Red Door and it was just as good as the first time. It's maintained very well and clean. It's comfortable furnished and has everything you need. The location is fabulous and puts you within walking distance of many good restaurants and downtown entertainment. Highly recommend!
This was our fourth stay at the Red Door and we loved it once again. The location is perfect, the house is spacious, clean, and cozy, and the property manager is always within reach. A wonderful rental experience!
The Red Door is the perfect location to explore downtown Pensacola and the bay. Restaurants, art galleries, theatre, and shopping. The home itself is comfortable with all the kitchen essentials and a fenced-in backyard so the dogs can frolic.
The Red Door house was in walking distance to many restaurants and was updated with modern appliances and had was well stocked with all soaps...laundry, dish, bathroom, etc. They even had a magnifying mirror for applying makeup. We definitely would recommend this property for your stay in Pensacola.
Our stay at Red Door exceeded expectations.
Communications were answered immediately and pleasantly. Check in was easy and the house was pristine!!
This historic home has been excellently remodeled with all the conveniences of a modern home without sacrificing it's antique charm. Beautifully furnished, well stocked, comfortable.
Safe, quiet street with private parking, fenced backyard meticulously maintained.
The location is in the heart of downtown. Everything within walking distance! There was even a Farmer's Market in the park there Saturday which we thoroughly enjoyed!
We would not hesitate to stay again...and again!!! Thank you for everything...it was perfect!
We have stayed in several homes and condominiums over the years for vacation, and The Red Door home is by far the best of all of them. The owners, Teri and David, offer an amazing home that is spacious, cozy, and suited us perfectly. There were four adults staying in the home over Thanksgiving. The kitchen was perfect for preparing our Thanksgiving feast. The open living room/dining room area is so inviting. The front porch and the back patio made for great outdoor relaxing areas as the weather was perfect during our stay. With the master bedroom downstairs and the second bedroom upstairs we all had plenty of room and privacy. The location of home was close to many of the downtown Pensacola restaurants and venues that interested us. It is also an easy drive to the beach. Gloria, the property manager, met us at the home when we arrived. She showed us all around the home, answered all of our questions, and made us feel welcome. This was truly our home away from home for the week, and we are already thinking about a return trip in the future.
With family in Pensacola & Destin, and a grandson graduating from UWF, my two little dogs & I stayed here for 2œ weeks (our post-Covid family reunion).
Over the years I have stayed in quite a few pet-friendly rental homes on the beach... condos, townhouses, etc., but I decided to stay in town this time because of the bridge closure (when I reserved the opening date of 3-Mile Bridge was not known).
Being near Seville Square was wonderful -- I once lived on Zarragossa (that's how it was spelled then) in the 1970's, so it was like coming home for me. Surprisingly, although there were continual Memorial Day parades & festivals a block away, this area was quiet. And there is parking for 3 cars off the street so my family was able to visit, park, and we could walk to Palafox restaurants.
The house had everything I needed -- I did quite a bit of cooking for myself while I was there. Gloria was wonderful and very eager to have everything perfect for me.... which it was. The king bed was incredibly comfortable. And I could walk in my bare feet without my feet getting dirty or sandy -- the house was the cleanest of any I have ever stayed in. Unlike townhouses, the master is on the main level and my knees really appreciated not climbing stairs.
The back yard was fully enclosed so I could let the dogs out without having them on a leash... a real bonus late at night. There was a nice courtyard for my morning coffee, too.
To summarize... this is the perfect vacation home, and it's the first rental I have had that I feel I could actually live in full-time.
We went for a girlfriend getaway and this was the perfect house and location. From sitting on the front porch drinking coffee to walking to shops and restaurants we loved it. The house has been updated and kept historic at the same time. I will definitely recommend this to friends and family.
Welcome! My husband and I are new to hosting and decided to buy this landmark home (The Hawkins House, circa 1880) to share a bit of our rich local history, and all that beautiful coastal Pensacola has to offer you and your family.
This home was recently up for sale, and we fell in love with it from the moment we walked in the Red Door! We have lovingly decorated the house with warm contemporary furnishing that is fresh, welcoming, and beautiful.
We look forward to hosting guests who wish to enjoy our vibrant historic downtown, and special life occasions such as weddings, honeymoons & family reunions. We are a short 15-20 minute drive to our stunning sugar-white beaches along the emerald Gulf Coast.
