Our experience overall was great! We were pleased that all was in order and ready for use.We enjoyed excellent privacy and convenient access in all directions to places we planned to visit. We had all the conveniences we have at home. There was an abundance of space to enjoy. We'll consider staying at the Cozy Cottage when we visit the area again as we do have family in the area. Thanks again Miss Merry.
We visited Louisiana for a graduation, the house had more than enough space. Like a secluded retreat tucked away, but very close to everything you need. No complaints. The porch was a treat at the end of the night. Very comfortable beds. Very clean.
This place has the perfect name cause it is so cozy! Such a cute cottage ! My daughter loved the hammock , I love the porch swing ! Location is great! The owner has always been quick to reply if I message. Everything we could possibly need was already here. My 10 year old son is tearing up cause heâs sad to leave . We will for sure be back!
The host Merry was super informative and kept us in the loop when is SNOWED in Louisiana (never happens). All was good at the house though thank goodness. Easy directions to get in. The heat worked fantastic (not always the case in older homes) and the bed was super comfortable. We are going back in December and are going to book this house again!
This cottage was in a great location and very cozy as the name states. Lots to do if you are hanging around. The owner was very quick in responding to questions and very friendly.
We chose this sweet place for our wedding anniversary. We visited in 2023 and we knew we had to go back. We love the porch so much. Itâs the coziest place!
Quaint and lovely home, felt like you were in the country but it was close to everything!! We had a great time and would stay there again. The porch is the best part!!!!!
Mainly slept there. Only problem inability to tune the TVs . Also chilly this morning and couldnât get any heat on the thermostat. Stay was comfortable and gine
Our stay reminded both of us visiting our Grandmother houses growing up and that is a great memory to experience again. Loved the charm of the house & wood floors and screened in porch. We now have this house tagged as our go to when visiting our daughter and son in law.
This was the perfect spot for me and my family. Merry was the perfect host, she did everything she could to accommodate us. If ever I am in Louisiana again I would definitely stay donât do it here.
Loved everything about this country home! That port h was everything! Dry clean and secluded but still close to everything. Surrounded by nature and very down home feeling. My daughter LOVED it. Very safe and host was a sweetheart. Will definitely be back!
My husband and our 3 teens wanted a place to just relax and enjoy the scenery. This place met all of our expectations and more. The porch (which is why we booked) hwas our happy place! The pictures do not do it justice. Itâs even more gorgeous. The grounds were magical. The porch swing was my favorite thing. We hope to go back in the fall! Lots to do around, also. Donât miss the Sunday Abita Springs Art and Farmers Market. Touring Abita brewery was amazing, too.
The house had a lovely screened porch and a wonderful gazebo with a hammock. I wished I had more time to spend there to enjoy them.
If one is a light sleeper, the road noise could be an issue, and the fact that the bathroom is between the two bedrooms could also be an issue for a light sleeper, as there is no buffer from the noise of the shower, etc.
I'm a native New Orleanian who bought the cottage in 2004, the year before Hurricane Katrina. The cottage was a dump! but bravely sustained little damage during that major storm, and I've renovated and added to it over the course of the years.
This is a historic nineteenth century cottage with its original heart of pine floors and barge board walls; there are no studs so outlets and switches are positioned on door frames, window frames, or baseboards. The character of the cottage shows in its deep window frames and original wavy glass windows. In restoring the cottage, I chose to maintain as much of the original charm as possible while updating for twenty-first century living. There is an original artesian well that still flows but the house has its own more modern well with a water treatment system which services the house.
To be able to retreat to a beautifully wooded and landscaped property with something blooming almost all the time is one of the unique charms of this special place.
