The house was perfect! The house was very clean and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and coffee on the front porch was relaxing. The backyard was great too. We were lucky to see a spectacular sunset from the backyard. Highly recommend this house and I would stay here again next time I am in the area.
The host live next door but still gave us privacy they were so nice they allowed the kids to play on the playground equipment and eat fresh berries 5 stars
Perfect place to stay! Very comfortable and relaxing. Host thought of lots of little thinks to provide safety and security. Very quiet and peaceful! Would not hesitate to stay again!
This was our third visit, we love the comfort and cleanliness of this home. It has a great space for family dining.
Great location, quiet neighborhood to enjoy the front porch. The family enjoyed sâmores in backyard firepit.
Lovely home to visit family, we will be back.
This property was charming and meticulously well maintained. They had every possible thing available to you in the home from laundry detergent to Saran Wrap etc. Definitely one of the nicest homes Iâve ever stayed in.
We had a blast at this spot, the owners were very sweet and took great care of it. Monona is a sleepy Midwest town that is a great break from the city. Our dogs enjoyed the stay as well, and the house was perfect for all of us. The neighbors were kind and the owners cat came to greet us every morning which was adorable. Thank you for an awesome stay!
Our family came to visit my sister who lives locally. Our Easter dinner at the house was memorable. We loved the layout and cleanliness of the house. We cooked Easter brunch an dinner at the house and had all the cookware and supplies to make it feel like home. We will certainly return.
We really enjoyed this house. The big dining table was perfect for meals and games with our friends, and we really appreciated the clean and fully appointed kitchen. Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms clean and filled with what we needed. Our dog was obnoxious, but the neighbor dogs were super nice to him, anyway. This is a little gem in Monona.
We loved our stay! Tim and Bridget have put lots of love into updating this house while keeping much of its original charm, like built-in shelves. My husband, our daughter and I had plenty of space, even with our daughter's dog. We had treats awaiting us: items for s'mores for us and a dog biscuit in the bowl for Bagel. The street is so quiet that it's hard to believe we were in a town. City in the front; country in the back! The location was perfect because we were within 20 minutes of several towns to explore. We spent one day in Elkader browsing the antique shops and also visited Prairie du Chien, McGregor and Marquette. We never cooked while we were there, but the kitchen was fully stocked if we had chosen to eat there. If you have children, the house is well stocked with books and games. Our bed was super comfy. Two thumbs up for the Monona Guesthouse!
The host has thought of everything. My family enjoyed our visit in this well-equipped home. We would definitely stay here again if weâre in the area.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. It was a great home away from home for a few days. We look forward to staying again in the future.
I grew up in Illinois but after graduating from college in Dubuque, Iowa, I loved Iowa so much I decided to stay. I met my husband Tim at our mutual friendâs wedding and we got married in 2010. We always thought we would stay in Dubuque but found ourselves wanting our children to have the same small town experiences we had growing up. A few years ago, we decided to relocate to Timâs home town of Monona to be closer to family. We love the many outdoor activities and experiences our family is able to do here. We hope you enjoy your stay!
Tim and I were excited to purchase this home in 2019 after the prior owner approached us about buying it. I love to decorate and we are âdo it yourselfersâ as much as possible with the help of our supportive family. We thought this was the perfect opportunity for us to have a space for our family and friends to stay when they visit and fill the lodging gap in our community.
From original woodwork to the hardwood floors, this house has lots of historical charm. The front porch is the most peaceful place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the world go by.
