Fantastic holiday home in a beautiful part of France
We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday at La Tourelle. This beautiful old house was lovely and spacious and very well equipped for our large party. The beds were comfy and the kitchen worked well for our large group.
The children enjoyed exploring the woods and playing in the games room, we all enjoyed the pool and we spent most evenings enjoying a glass of wine under the tree (although the now TV box was a godsend at times!). The village was a short walk and had a small supermarket, bakery and a bar which served lovely ice creams.
There is plenty to do if you wish to. We spent several days at the nearby lac la Raviege where we hired pedalos and leisure boats (there is also a snack bar and pizza restaurant), we took a scenic drive to the coast one day which was worth the drive and we also visited the amazing Sidobre rocks.
We had a fabulous holiday in this lovely house in a beautiful part of France - we would love to return!
Vi havde lejet la Tourelle i to uger i juli 2019 for her at fejre vores guldbryllup sammen med vores nÊrmeste familie (tre generationer - i alt 13 personer).

Fantastic week for a family holiday with everything we wanted and more
Quiet and authentic week in the french countryside!
This fantastic and authentic big french countryside house has everything you need if your are looking for a great stay in France. We were four families spending a week together in this house and we all felt that we had enough space both for privacy and to be together as much as we wanted.
The rooms were big and well equiped, with a rustic touch to it. The kitchen had everything you could ever need.
The kids loved playing around in the garden and in the pool.
The host was very welcoming and helpful.
The small village is just five minutes walk away to stroll around, and to buy your basics from la boulangerie and the local store.
We could easily have spent one more week at la Tourelle!
We had an amazing stay at La Tourelle last summer 2016.
We came as a large group for an active break- offering a cycling swimming and running getaway to active families on a WholeHealth holiday. We took over the house for three weeks, and it was perfect for our needs. The rooms are beautiful, and the large grounds were perfect for the kids in our group to play in, as well as the pool which kept them entertained most days.
A car was needed to get to the nearby towns, but we did lots of our exploring by bike on the lovely quiet roads, through villages and up climbs in the area. Everything we needed could be bought in the local village, and we enjoyed the regular markets including the night market. Supermarkets were further afield, but were combined with a trip to the pool at Castres, which again was a big hit with the kids with its massive slides, and adjacent restaurant providing a full day's entertainment.
Tom and Liz could not have been more helpful in making us all welcome, helping us to discover the area, and feeling like friends when we shared a barbecue at the end of our stay. I would recommend the property to anyone who is seeking a peaceful break in the French countryside, especially those who like us enjoy an active break.
Thank you, and we hope to be back again!

We have just spent two weeks at La Tourelle and loved every minute. The first week was with 9 family members, and in the second a number of friends joined us, maxing out at 13 staying. The house coped with us all well, especially as the weather allowed us to eat al fresco. The bedrooms all had their own character, all were clean and uncluttered. Everyone in my party commented on the comfort of the beds, and duvets were provided all round. Towels were also provided as well as towels for round the pool as well. The 4 bathrooms had a boutique hotel feel about them, nicely laid out and decorated - with just the one on the 2nd floor being a little smaller, but with a large walk in shower. Downstairs there are 3 rooms (no toilet though), large kitchen with all the appliances and utensils you would need, a dinning room which was great for late night cards. The lounge had a large flat screen TV with freeview, which was perfect for the Olympics!
We used the pool everyday, although it is at the front of the property the bushes have grown up well and it is now completely hidden from the road. It's not a diving pool but was perfect for playing on lilos and rings. We just had to beat the younger members of our party to the sun loungers in the morning!
It was worth heading this far south for the excellent weather, some of us drove the whole day from northern France, whilst other flew into Toulouse and hired a car. Angles was a friendly village with all the basics covered as far as food was concerned. A great local cafe as well which was a good stop after collecting the bread in the morning. The restaurant in the village was closed, but we went to auberge de la souque, which is just 7k down the road and was excellent with simple food cooked well.
Tom the owner ensured we had everything we needed and was contactable when we had questions about anything. The house is old and has character, so is not perfect, but had everything we needed to ensure we had a great holiday. Visit gorge d'heric which is about 50k west of angles for a good day playing in river pools (not white water rafting!).
The sun hits the front of the house in the morning so it was great for sitting outside for breakfast. In the evening the house is shaded from the sun, but it was still a great place to sit outside and eat before it got dark. It was a long way to travel, but the house worked beautifully for us... A great find.
