Located in Port Lligat, at the edge of the charming village of Cadaques on the Costa Brava (Spain), CASA DEL CAPITAN is an exceptional 9-bedroom villa with a spectacular infinity swimming pool.
Built in a 5 acre parkland facing the stunning natural park of Cap de Creus, the villa offers breathtaking sea-views in a very quiet environment. It benefits from direct access to the sea while offering extreme privacy.
Casa del Capitan has a rich history, it was first designed in 1962 by the well-known American architect Peter Harnden. Then the property was entirely renovated in 2017/2018 with care for respecting the original architecture and preserving its amazing artistic heritage.
For nearly 20 years, Dali's personal manager, the extraordinary ‘Captain Moore’ lived in the house welcoming a variety of international artists, intellectuals, and free spirits.
With spacious living areas, restful and stylish bedrooms (each with en-suite bathroom), CASA DEL CAPITAN can accommodate a maximum of 20 persons.
It's a one story villa built above the rock, with two different parts: the main house (including 5 bedrooms) and four exterior bedrooms with independent access, all connected with nice Mediterranean style patios and stone steps.
CASA DEL CAPITAN combines modernity, refinement and simplicity along with high level comfort and technology. It includes:

The swimming pool is located at the top of the property, 50m from the main house. The pool house overviews the sea and includes a summer kitchen with barbecue grill.
The vast terraced park hides statues and nods to Dali, along with an amazing tiny chapel.
CASA DEL CAPITAN offers stunning views in all directions: to the natural park of cap de Creus, S'alqueria and Port Lligat beaches.
The Salvador Dali house-museum is just a short walk away and Cadaques center a 20 minute walk (or a 5 minute drive).
CADAQUES
Cadaques is a magnificent remote fishing village situated in the Cap de Creus peninsula on the famous Spanish Costa Brava (close to the French border), recognizable by the narrow cobblestone streets and charming whitewashed houses overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The village is dominated by a seventeenth century church which boasts an astonishing baroque altar.
Cadaques has been a source of inspiration for international painters and artists for decades and still enjoys an intense cultural life. Artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Picasso amongst others, used to visit, attracted by the beautiful light and amazing landscapes as well as by the enigmatic figure of Salvador Dalí.
Cadaques not only offers a wide selection of cultural activities (art galleries, museums, concerts, traditional events…) and gastronomic experiences (some excellent restaurants), but also a broad range of sporting activities such as boating, kayaking, diving, hiking or cycling. One of the main attractions is the excellent hiking opportunities that the Cap de Creus Natural Park provides.
