The house was nice and worked for what we needed it for since we were out most of the time we were there. The views are great. It didnât bother us much but I have to mention the house creaks pretty frequently - itâs not too loud but definitely noticeable. Also one of the provided towels looked dirty or stained. Otherwise our stay was good!
We loved our stay. This was actually the second time booking this same cabin and we'd love to come back. We would highly recommend this booking to anyone visiting Boone.
It was a lovely weekend in a precious cabin. There were some issues with the washing machine leaking when we got there, and continued throughout the weekend. However, the management staff was very responsive and sent someone out immediately to assess the issue. They were so lovely and gracious that it didnât affect our enjoyment of the cabin.
If youâre looking for a beautiful and quiet cabin to enjoy nature this is the place. The house was perfectly furnished and had a fully stocked kitchen with everything to make or grill good meals at home. Boone is a short drive away.
Overall it was great!Cabin needs exterminating. Killed 12 crickets and 2 roaches.Cabin makes a very annoying popping sound constantly throughout. No idea what it was,Hot tub water was not as hot as it should be. After 30 minutes it turned itself off. Later when we checked, it was working fine. I think this may be an older model! The bed upstairs was very uncomfortable and makes a terrible squeaking noise on the left side when you get out of bed. For the price you pay, you expect comfortable beds. We would not come back just because of poor mattresses.
The cabin was beautiful but the best part was the beautiful view. Nothing but mountain range all around and a small view of the Beech Mountain ski slopes. The company was very nice and checked in on us. We would love to stay again.
Lots of rest and relaxation. The weather is perfect to beat the heat back home! We loved the historic feel due to decorations and furniture. The porch with hot tub was our favorite place! We stayed out there most of the time! A great summer getaway and great location in Banner Elk and Boone area! Highly Recommend!
We loved the cabin. The view was great, felt very secluded with just the right amount of privacy. There are neighboring cabins, but you hardly know it. Kitchen was well stocked and even had both types of coffee makers, which was great because we are coffee people. We didn't realize that there was a fireplace, that was a great surprise! We lucked out and didn't have to deal with snow, I wouldn't underestimate their instructions when it comes to bad weather. The cabin is a fair way up a steep gravel road. Plus side, the road was very well maintained. It's a new cabin, but was very well decorated. It felt very homely. We are already making plans to come back again. We really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful cabin. The smell of the wood when you walk in is amazing.. Hot tub was very nice but there was no view because of the trees. The house was very clean except the bedding was dirty in both rooms luckily we found extra bedding. Overall a great place I would come again.
This was for a nice weekend getaway for two and it was great. It is far enough from the crowds but not too far from everything. My only complaints are the beds were hard as rocks (I know some people prefer that) and also the mirrors were all antique looking and therefore very hard to put on makeup :) Furnishing was nice and hot tub with view was perfect! I would say it could use a better cleaning but nothing that was bothering me.
Great Cabin , views should be great in Fall and winter ! A lot of trees so in the summer not a lot to see . Cabin about 50 ft below front porch but still felt somewhat private . Good local .
We had a great time and would definitely return. The only downside was the directions that we were given, we were lost and it took a long time to find the cabin after a long drive. The map and written directions were very hard to follow.
I took my mother to Hawk Feather for a couple of days for her birthday. I called Anderson Mountain Rentals the day before our arrival to see if we could check in before 4:00. I was told that I would receive a phone call letting me know if that was possible, I never received that call. Upon arriving I was disappointed at the curb appeal of the cabin. The front porch had a wicker chair that was in need of repairs and there were other items that should have been stored away in the tool shed. The landscaping needs attention. Upon entering the cabin we were pleasantly surprised. It is nicely furnished and the kitchen had all the conveniences of home. The back deck is beautiful! Lots of seating, however, the dining table is in need of repair. There are limited mountain views but it was nice listening to the birds singing and enjoying the cool air. The hot tub was nice but I wish we could have turned it off when it wasn't in use. It shuts off at some point but comes on in the middle of the night, which can be heard throughout the cabin. Beds were comfortable but I recommend bringing your own pillows. The kitchen has some high end appliances and fixtures in the bathrooms so I was puzzled why they don't have better pillows and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. I recommend bringing your own pillows.
Our last day a load of mulch was delivered and later in the evening someone came to work on the landscaping. They did a nice job but it would have been nice if Anderson Mountain rentals would have let us know workers were coming or better yet, have the work completed when there are no renters on the property. All in all the cabin is lovely and clean and we enjoyed our time away.
