Clean, comfortable, quiet and well stocked with amenities! We relaxed in the hot tub each night and there is a large deck that is private to enjoy as well! The river access is just down the hill from the back patio. Kitchen was well stocked. Host was very friendly and very respectful of your privacy but also very responsive to anything we needed! It was the perfect location for us! We were just about an hour from Branson which allowed us to enjoy all the things Branson has to offer as well as Springfield! It is less than 15 minutes from Bass Pro and the WOW Aquarium. There are also many great places to eat in the area! If you like to be close to the action but also far enough away to relax, this is the perfect place! This place is definitely on our favorites list! We will definitely stay here again if we come to the area!
My husband and I stayed at this place, and it was beautiful. We saw lots of animals from our view from the hot tub. We definitely reccommend staying here.
Was very clean and comfortable felt like you was at home saw several deer and turkey early in mornings thought it was very good location felt country but still close enough to get where you wanted within a short drive. Will definitely remember next time want to stay down that wayvrryway!! Very good remember
Came to Missouri to visit friends for my bf's birthday. The property was in a great location. Peaceful but not to far from any essentials you may need. They only negative was there was no river to fish, float, or enjoy.
This was a great place to be able to enjoy things in Branson and not have to stay within the hustle and bustle of it. Very close to Bass Pro in Springfield which my husband appreciated. House was as advertised. Highly recommend this location and owner.
Rented this cute little cabin space for a weekend get-a-away after the hectic holidays. Just me, the wife and the dog. we were looking for a quick get-a-away from Kansas CIty and It was just about perfect for what we wanted...and expected. The fresh 3 inch's of snow that arrived the morning we traveled into town made it all the more perfect. Great view from the deck of the James River in the winter, with the new snow blanketing the trees. The Hot Tub was awesome in the evenings after long hikes in the local parks and trails. Fire pit was used every night, although I probably made a mess of the woodpile trying to find dryer wood to split from the snow and ice. We are planning to come back in the summer to go kayaking/canoeing with the easy access to the river right from the property. Would recommend for a couple or small family.
Lovely cabin on the river, beautiful view. Owner attentive/caring, but only if you needed something, which we didn't. We didn't need anything because the cabin was fully equipped. I would definitely recommend & would stay again. đ
This is our second time staying here, and we enjoyed it again. Clean house and great communication with the owner. Close enough to Wonders of Wildlife for an easy commute. More leaves were off the trees this time, so we could see part of the river from the deck too. Could tell there had been a few updates since last year, especially appreciated the fan in the bedroom and extra plugs and charging cords provided! Thanks for a great stay.

Misleading
This river cabin is actually a garage with about a third converted to an apartment. Don't consider this if you're an older couple. Steep stairs to bathroom on bottom floor. Owners living next door and they sure keep an eye on you. Zoom lense on the pictures
My husband and I (and our two dogs) wanted to take a little trip out to Springfield so we looked for places around there that would take our dogs. We came across this property and booked it almost instantly. Once we arrived, it was absolutely beautiful and had a beautiful view out back. Cheryl did a beautiful job with the property. Unfortunately, the weather didnât cooperate well with our agenda but the house accommodated us perfectly. We plan on staying here again in the future!
Enjoyed our family weekend in Springfield. Cabin was great for our needs - family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teen boys) just in town for the weekend. There is only 1 bed, but there is a futon and comfy couch that the boys slept on. We like to give our business to people instead of hotels when we can. Nice back porch, couldn't see the river from the porch, but it was just a short walk down the trail to the water. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Shower took us a few seconds to figure out, we're not used to one that fancy, haha! I didn't see any specific check-out instructions, so I hope we did everything we were supposed to! Thanks for a great place to stay.
I am so glad we chose this spot to run away for the weekend. The place was the perfect size and well maintained. The owner was extremely responsive to all of our questions and needs. Property sits perfectly out of town but within minutes of good beer, food, shopping, and outdoor activities. We visited Sac River Mountain Bike trial which offered alot of good trails with great scenery. Tics were a HUGE problem here but nonetheless it was a great time. We brought our kayaks and bicycles and Kayaked a portion of the James river just north of Springfield Lake. We dropped our bikes off at Southwood Access and then drove up to Joe Crighton Access, dropped our kayaks in and left the truck. Paddled all the way down to Southwood Access where we hopped on our bike and headed back to the truck. The river was calm and there was hardly anybody else out, which was surprising because it was a beautiful day. We also found a great Italian restaurant in Nixa called Piccolo's that had some of the best vegan food I've had. Highly Recommend. Thanks for the great stay! We will be coming back!
We stayed in this VRBO as a family with a 4yo and 6yo. The property was large enough for us with 1 bedroom and a futon. The deck is amazing and offers lots of outdoor space to run around. I worked the majority of my days on the deck ;)
The property is within walking distance of the James River and there are trails around for adventure. Our kids loved this! There is also a nice walking trail a little ways up the road which leads to the Missouri Institute of Science which I would recommend.
Recommendations to pack:
1- lawn chairs as there is a fire pit and you may want to sit at the river
2- coffee to use in the provided coffee maker
3 - laundry soap to use in the washer/dryer
4- extra TP if you are staying a while
5 - wood if you want to use the fire pit
The only drawback we experienced during our stay at the property was dog hair. I'm not sure if the previous renter brought their pet, but there was a lot of dog hair around. For those of us with allergies, we made sure to be on our daily Zyrtec! This could have just been timing though on us being the renter after a pet owner. Thought I would mention it for those who have severe allergies.
