Only concern would be the really low water pressure. It was hard to take showers. Would consider adding safety bar to the showers. My 90 year old mother was with us. Thanks!
Overall, clean and comfy. However, it smelled like my grandmaâs house. The windows were stuck shut, needs new coffee pot, water smelled like sulfur, no door from bathroom to master bedroom, could hear everything đ. Super close to Lake Padden golf course.
Property wae nice. Yes a busy stree but during the day. Our only problem was being an older house was hard for my mother that uses a walker. We thought to put her in the master but she could not manage the step down. But she could not take her walker into the other bathroom. Needed help to get inthere. But all i all, its a nice house.
There are a few things that need to be addressed at this site. When we entered, it was musty smelling inside. There are no screens on windows or doors so we had no way to air it out. There could be a handle by the step to get to driveway for safety on the uneven steps. Guest bathroom faucet is on backward. The hot is the right and the cold is the left.
Otherwise the place was very clean and comfortable! Very well stocked kitchen.
Great little house for a stay with friends or family. Close to the MTB trails and Lake Padden if checking those out. Close to town if driving, if biking (like we did) the way home is a long uphill, we don't recommend that part.
Backyard is actually divided into two properties so much smaller than the picture would let on, so not as much space for playing games as we thought.
Master bathroom doesn't have a door, I was with friends so that was awkward, I also don't like my spouse that much either so a door is required, who doesn't have one?
Has everything else you could need, a perfectly good spot to chill for a while in the country, but in the city more or less.
Overall I give this property a 98 points out of 100.
My current career is house flipping so IF I were buying this property....
1) defective ballast for kitchen lights (no worky some times).
2) several dead light bulbs. replaced. you are welcome.
3) really needs a bathroom door for the master suite. weird.
4) water leak, outside, under kitchen sink window.
5) electrical not to code in patio area exterior (safe but not conforming).
Otherwise nice, nice, nice.
Cheers
Family vacation- met with relatives residing in Bellingham. This was a 5 generation visit!
Rental was good. Could have used a binder with instructions on use of tv, checking in it was dark and took a bit to realize we were using a side door not the front door for keypad entry. Stated it slept 8 - knowing 3 bedrooms assumed there was a sleeper couch to make it 8. One guest slept on couch and the noise from the road out front required him to wear earplugs. No instructions on what to do with the garbage. Nice big coffee pot on the counter but did not work, there was a small one that did. Nice backyard! Overall the stay was very good, just the little quirks!
This was a good family place to stay for our relative's wedding. An older home, but updated on the inside, we had everything we needed to have a great stay together. Close driving distance to groceries, shops/restaurants/breweries, hiking (we walked Lake Padden loop and Larabbee State Park) and other activities. The road is close to the house, but road noise was no issue. In an area with older and newer homes, neighborhood was quiet. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
Enjoyed our stay at the house; it was comfortable and had everything we needed. The fire pit was a bonus. We had fun in the Bellingham area -very gorgeous. Our trip could only have been better if weâd seen whales on our tour :)
The home was a comfortable stay for us. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen, while needs to be updated, was fully stocked with everything we needed and more. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard with our morning coffee.
Although on a very busy road this old Billings home has most of everything that you need for a convenient stay in the area⊠Convenient to the lakes and Fairhaven and Bellingham are just minutes away⊠The yard is a plus for having a pet⊠The kitchen leaves a little to be desired⊠For evening cooking and food prep . Could not resolve television not working during our stay.
This 1950 style home is in need of an update. The house could use a deep clean and there are some wonky electrical and plumbing issues. The location is good. It has a private back yard with a lovely patio, BBQ and burn pit which we enjoyed. The kitchen is well-stocked with modern appliances.
We were in town for our daughterâs graduation from Western Washington University. Brought some family in tow. We had a great barbecue night in the outdoor area; landscaping is beautiful, did have to clean up some dust but manageable.
Plenty of seating and beds but be aware the parking is limited and house is on a busy street. If traffic noise is a problem then best to reconsider. We didnât mind at all and our adult son even went for an early morning jog with no problems from traffic. Saw some bunnies!
Kitchen was fully stocked with lots of extras. Best weâve stayed in a while. Cooked a full dinner and big breakfast with everything we needed. Bathrooms are nicely updated.
Would definitely stay again!
The property was as advertised and well equipped. Good location close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Downsides: the house is located on a busy street and walls are quite thin (I could hear cars passing through the night and was woken up out of a dead sleep by car doors closing nearby). Overall a great rental experience and would stay again.
