Pas besoin de marcher ou de faire du vélo pour franchir la porte d'entrée. Cette maison en rondins est 100% sur mesure et décorée dans un thème nautique / extérieur pour profiter pleinement de l’Up North. Levers de soleil que les mots ne peuvent pas décrire et des souvenirs qui dureront toute une vie. À distance de marche de tout le centre-ville.

À distance de marche des restaurants, des glaces, des bars et autres attractions et événements. Cheminée en pierre. 3 chambres plus une mezzanine avec 3 lits simples. Family Fun Vacation

Such a beautiful home with the best location in downtown Oscoda. My family is so lucky we found this gem. Plenty of space to accommodate everyone. Our host was fantastic and was very quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely return.

Fantastic cabin on the shore of Lake Huron in Michigan's wonderful "Up North" country.

This visit marks the second time that I have rented this wonderful modern-day log home on the shore of Lake Huron. Mark is an outstanding host and maintains his property in top condition. It was every bit as neat and clean in 2024 as it was when we visited in 2021. If you like being just a few steps away from the sand beaches of Lake Huron, this just may be your vacation home option.

“ Sharing Happiness “

Stayed here with our daughter, SIL , and granddaughter ( 4 1/2 yrs old ) and couldn’t have asked for a more memorable “ first time “ staying at this home . Location was perfectly situated by the beach/ park where there was plenty of playground equipment for the 4 year old and beach access for the rest of us ! ( We were stationed here years ago at Wurtsmith AFB so part of our trip was revisiting “ old stomping grounds “ , which included Lumberman’s Monument, Foot-site , the base itself ( which seems to be coming back as a housing/vacation area which was nice to see) We have already asked if we could do this same time next year and hopefully make this a family “ tradition “ for our “ Anniversary “ visit ! The house itself had great amenities…the mattresses were firm and the pillows were plump, great water pressure and never ran out of hot water ! ( reminiscent of cabins in the past !) and Mark ( and Elizabeth) was great to communicate with and very open to any questions or concerns we might have had . We had one “ glitch “ with the bbq grill that a previous guest apparently did not take care of and resulted in us not having one at the house while we were there …but we were able to just walk across the street to the park area and utilize one of the charcoal grills there ! Memories were made and we hope to do it again next year!

Retreat

Great time had by all. Beautiful location for 2 and 7 year old granddaughters. Park and beach right across the street. When it rained, set up a mini corn hole game in garage and had fun practicing chipping and putting with plastic balls. Also, can't go wrong taking a trip to Tawas' Ben Franklin. Can walk to ice cream parlor, theater, restaurant, Hallmark. Owner great to work with. Highly recommend.

Relaxing Open Property

The property is inviting, opeen amd wonderful. 5 adults and one child were very comfortable. Close to town & within walking distance to anything really. Mark is a super host & communicated that I left something behind & is sending it to me. Thank you for allowing us to stay. We all agreed it was a great place to reunite our family.

Perfect getaway up north!

The log home is gorgeous, spacious and clean. The setting is perfect— right next to Oscoda Beach Park and town. We loved hearing the waves from Lake Huron and watching the spectacular sunrises. The host was friendly and responsive. We’ll definitely return!

We loved every minute of our stay in this beautiful log cabin. We just left today and I already want to come back! The host is great with communication and the house has everything AND MORE that you could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable, the upstairs loft for the kids was great, and the house was very spacious. Hoping to book again next year!

Uncomfortable

I almost never write reviews, especially negative ones, but I want to share our experience because my husband and I felt a bit duped by all the five star reviews of this property. The location could not be better and the host was great. We found Mark to be friendly, responsive, and helpful. We were disappointed in the cabin itself, however. It wasn’t clean. The counters had old food on them, the floors were gritty with dirt, there were cobwebs on the walls, there were dead bugs suspended in cobwebs in the light fixture directly above the dining room table and covering both skylights, and many of the cabinet and door knobs were sticky with grime. With the amount charged in cleaning fees, I personally don’t see any reason for the lack of cleanliness. The walls in the upstairs bathroom are covered in what we believed to be mold (there’s some in the downstairs bathroom too, but not as much) and it smells. We nearly left right after arriving but decided to stick it out for at least one night after we’d spent so much on the rental and traveled so far to get there. We’d booked three nights but left after the first night, once we saw the upstairs bathroom. We didn’t feel comfortable staying there with our daughter.

A perfect stay!

We had a great stay. The location with little kids couldnt be beat- practically on the public beach with a big playground. The cabin itself was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Communication with the property owner was east and fast. 10/10 and can't wait to stay again next summer!

Hidden Gem

Oscoda and this property are a hidden gem! The beach and park right across the rarely traveled street were so convenient. The beach itself was so beautiful and sandy. Despite the unseasonably chilly weather, we were there everyday with our kids. There was so much to do within walking distance from the property: restaurants, ice cream, shopping, and a movie theater! The home is a beautiful custom built log home. Many amenities and necessities were supplied that made our trip so much easier with 6 young kids and our stay more comfortable. The only thing I would suggest are some extra blankets stored, as we had some unseasonably chilly weather for our stay. I would love to book this vacation property on a yearly basis as we all had SO much fun! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

This property is perfectly placed. The house itself is a hidden gem for the area. It’s so close to everything. Great place for family and friends. Mark is a great property host! Communicates well and his knowledge of the area helped are group everywhere pretty easily. This was a great place!

Amazing!

Perfect Location, Amazing clean home, communication with Mark was great, he was very in touch with every step of the way. My husbands grand parents built a cottage on Cedar Lake in Oscoda 70+ years ago and my husbands family of 9 kids vacationed there all there lives and we also vacationed there with our families every year. When she passed unfortunately the cottage had to be sold. We used to bring our kids to the beach and playground right in front of the house whenever we were up there. We always admired your house and my sister in law and I said we would love to see the inside and that it would be so fun to have a place there. Well we have had our first of many vacations there! Booked for next year already! We have rented many different places through VRBO in different areas of the US and this by far surpassed any stay we have had.

Great house and host

Everything was as described. House is a great location across from the beach and walking distance to a souvenir store, ice cream shop, couple of restaurants, and pharmacy/liquor store. The beach was never crazy crowded. Owner was very responsive to small issue we had - called within a minute of sending him a text. IMPORTANT NOTE: I was very concerned about the lack of air conditioning in August and packed fans. Didn't need them at all as the house fan setup made the place borderline chilly (which I prefer).

Perfect!

Mark has the perfect house and location for our family vacation. The kids (3-6 yo) loved the loft with the 4 beds! The house was cozy but with lots of room for the 10 of us. The beach and play area were so close and we enjoyed walking the couple blocks to the ice cream shop every night. We look forward to returning next year!!

My wife and I were born and raised in Oscoda/ NE MI and moved back to our hometown to raise our growing family. We both enjoyed the Oscoda beach and park on Lake Huron throughout our childhood and love that we can host our guests right on the beach park so that they can share in those experiences we enjoy so much.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This property has been in our family since my grandparents purchased it as a summer home in the 70s. Since then that cabin was taken down and the current custom log cabin was built in its place as their retirement home and landing zone for the entire family. We have chosen to offer this to guests to further the legacy of the home, and for our guests to enjoy the experience of being right downtown at the beach park.
