We had an amazing time at Casa Santana
It had everything we needed and more, including a lot of outdoor space, a garden, a wonderful view, and an amazing kitchen with really great appliances.
But most of all, it was immaculate and had the most comfortable beds.
I felt right at home the whole time and never wanted to leave. We will for sure be going back. I strongly recommend it!
This is an amazing property. Plenty of space available even for our group of 6 adults and 4 kids. Comfortable beds and overall the house is very well kept. The house is immersed in nature which makes it very quiet, lots of privacy, and opportunities to see many different types of animals.
It is also very convenient that you can use all the amenities (pool, spa, restaurants) offered by Rancho Santana, which is an upscale resort with mostly English-speaking guests.
Highly recommended!
My family and I stayed at the house for 11 nights and really loved it. The location is excellent with a short mini-workout walk down/up hill to the main clubhouse. The The house itself is extremely spacious and very comfortable. the outdoor areas are beautifully manicured and the pool is large.
We loved Rancho Santana, with its mix of natural beauty, surfing, rugged terrain and luxury.
John was an absolute pleasure to work with and highly responsive every step of the way. We definitely want to return.
My family and I had a great time in Nicaragua. What a surprise to see the improved infrastructure and safe surrounding. The Inn and Resort area were impressive and we were able to take pictures that could be made into post cards. Casa Santana was more than I expected. The modern kitchen made it a breeze to cook breakfast and prepare snacks during the day. Taking a swim every morning before breakfast drove home the fact that we were on vacation and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely bring my family and vacation there again.

My husband and I have long been traveling to Nicaragua, but we have always done "budget" travel. This time, we invited my in-laws (in their 70s), and decided to upgrade. We stayed at Casa Santana for 3 nights, and it was wonderful! The house is solidly built with beautiful wooden fixtures and gorgeous native wooden furniture. The rooms are large, and the beds are very comfy! Our favorite part was the patio by the pool, with lots of different chairs and hammocks for relaxing. It was so quiet at night, and not hot at all during the day. Its located within the community of Rancho Santana so you have access to the clubhouse and pool if you want, or you can just stay in the house! Everything was immaculate and well-kept, it is obvious the owners have spent a lot of thought and put a lot of care into the place. Highly recommend!
Beware! This property is not as advertised. The advertisement that the house is âBeachsideâ is a stretch. House is on top of a steep hill from the beach with multiple other houses between it and the beach. Some key pictures in the listing are outdated; for example, the listing picture of an ocean view from the first floor no longer applies as it appears to have been taken over 10 years ago before tree growth blocked the view. The home is advertised as inside Rancho Santana; however, what is not disclosed is that Rancho Santana charges a resort fee of $17.25 per person per day. The resort told the home owner to clearly disclose the resort fee in his listing, but he refuses. The owner claims that the resort fee is optional and only payable if you use the resort amenities, but resort staff state it is required to be paid regardless of what amenities are used (we were told the resort fee was owed at the front gate when we first arrived). Other problems: lizard poop all over the top bunk bed when we arrived (we have pictures), a broken ceiling fan, A/C remotes with dead batteries on our arrival, and bathroom doors that have the wrong type of lock creating safety issues. The interior bathroom doors inadvertently locked behind us. When we called the manager, they said they didnât have a key to reopen. When a locksmith arrived the next day, he said these were incorrect locks for bathrooms and the door latches were out of adjustment. For the above reasons, I canât recommend this home.
This property exceeded my expectations. It was located in a beautiful beach complex and the property manager went above and beyond helping us with our requests. It was a little confusing getting there, as Google Maps always sends you in another direction and there is no clear signage, once you enter the complex. I highly suggest providing the house number. All I had was pictures of the house and an address. Be aware there is no cable or antenna on the TV, so you are limited to paid programming. Also the bunk beds in 1 of the bedrooms have terrible mattresses. I had to have them switched and at the end piled to have it not completely sink in the middle; it did not work. Two of my guests slept in a sunken mattress. Other than that, the place is well kept and we had a wonderful 2 days at the beach. I would return, specially for the food our cook made us.
The house is very nice and fully equipped. Although the house is not facing the sea, the atmosphere is pleasant and the location is excellent. The service people arrived and the house was clean.
I recommend this house and the owners are very kind. Of course I would like to stay with my family again.
Playa de los perros is ten minutes from the house and it is a nice beach that I also recommend to visit.
I had a relaxing stay and the house was very comfortable!
The house was very comfortable. It was spacious inside and out!! The house was clean. It was well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen and in the rooms. A warning, you need a car to get to the beach if you have children or elderly people, the terrain is not easy to walk with hills and large gravel. Overall, I loved the house!
House is as listed in the ad and the photos are accurate.
Host John and daughter Sherri are very helpful and are close by if needed.
Property is well taken care of, clean and safe.
Everything worked with no issue including the AC.
You do need a vehicle (4x4) to experience this area and everything it has to offer.
We will be visiting again.
There are not many houses in Rancho (Casitas and Condos are not houses) that are really walking distance to the Restaurant and Beach. From Casa Santana you can walk down the path passed the Yoga studio right to Rancho. It is a lovely walk and for me even walking back up the stairs was fairly easy. The house is big with a large patio area and swimming pool. There are views and balconies from all of the upstairs bedrooms. The house worked well for us as 4 singles, although one of the bedrooms is small and you need to walk through another bedroom to get to it. I think the house would be ideal for a family with kids over 6 or 7. It would even be great for 2 families because there are really 2 master bedrooms. You get cleaning service and a gardener. The grounds are lovely. The decor is perfect for the setting and the outdoor area very spacious. The Edwards and Sherri are really easy to contact and work with. We do volunteer work with the local community and will probably stay here often.
My stay at Casa Santana was the highlight of my two week vacation in Nicaragua. I fell in love with the home, it's architecture is breathtaking, I loved every artifact of decoration everywhere which was rich with Nicaraguan culture. My family and I had a blast and I dream of coming back to your property again in the near future. I loved the fact that we had access to the clubhouse which was an added bonus. The only feedback I would say is that we had no cable TV, only a DVD player. The other bummer was that the beach is not really for swimming, it's more for surfing. I come from Southern California where the beaches are really cold and so I was hoping for warm beach that was safe for my two children but the waves were gigantic and the water not so warm. Other than that, the water was really clean. But overall, this house is a dream house. Congratulations on your amazing taste!
We stayed for eight days at this lovely beach house which is just minutes walk from Rosado's surf break which is a really nice left point break the house is very clean and there's made service every day the pool is a really great added bonus the kitchen is well-equipped My only complaint would be that its stated to sleep seven but not if you're seven male surfers. It might sleep seven if there were couples that wanted to share a queen bed but overall fantastic
Casa Santana is the perfect home for a family. We travel a lot but still had concerns about Nicaragua. The owners were so helpful before our trip, responding to every question with enthusiasm. They made us feel at ease before we even left the US. The location of the house is perfect. you can see the ocean from the house and the beach is just a short walk. The staff at the house are amazing and made the stay even better. Rancho Santana is gorgeous and having the amenities at your fingertips adds even more. We had Chefs from the restaurant come and prepare meals for us at the house so we could relax with the kids by the pool. I highly reccomend doing this. The house is such a great value, worth every penny. We can not wait to return to Casa Santana.
Casa Santana had everything we were looking for. The house has a lot of space, it is well kept and the house keeper, Karina, keeps it very clean. The terrace and pool area is perfect to relax and enjoy. The location is great, safe and close to the beach. If you want to explore, there are some great mountain bike trails or you can visit nearby beaches all within Rancho Santana. The beach club was very nice and serves great food. I do recommend the Magnific Rock restaurant. It has amazing food and views! Our vacation in Casa Santana was perfect. Looking forward to our next stay!
We travelled from a cold January in Canada to the wonderful weather and beautiful scenery of Casa Santana for a week in paradise. The property is beautifully manicured, with fresh coconut for refreshment from the hot sun! We spent most of our time enjoying the relaxing outdoor living space with the perfect-sized pool to cool off when the heat got too much. The beaches that are close by were excellent for swimming, relaxation and surfing! The house provides a great home away from home. Whether it was preparing meals in the large kitchen, catching up on reading in the living room, or just settling down for the night in the comfortable beds; this place has it all. The property is very clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this property as a great vacation spot for families, friends, surfers, or those looking for peace & quiet.

My wife Evelyn and I built our retreat of 'Casa Santana' a few years back so that we could occasionally get a break from the 'Cold Canadian North'. We enjoy spending time with all of our family and friends there whenever we are able. We travel frequently to our 'home away from home' year round, and like to think that all of our guests feel as at home as we do during their stay....we hope that our 'haven' is a place that will attract you back to Casa Santana time and time again. Sherri, our daughter manages the rentals for Casa Santana and has had extensive experience with all there is to do in the area as a result of her 5 yr full time tenure there until she returned to Canada a few years ago...she's a delight to talk to, and would welcome any inquiries that you may have.
We chose to own a piece of this magical place very early on in the developing stages....we couldn't be happier with our home along with the beautiful beaches, smiling faces and the great family adventures that we enjoy!
This is our home away from home. We hope that you will enjoy the love and attention that we have put into the detail at Casa Santana that makes our stay and yours amazing, every time!
