Incredible stay! The sauna and UKRAINIAN âchanâ were perfect for relaxing. The home was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped. Great location with easy access to town. The hosts were fantasticâresponsive and welcoming. Canât wait to come back!
We spent 5 nights here with our children and six grandchildren and had a blast. The little ones were kept busy with the playground area, the multiple riding toys, and basketball hoop, as well as the lake with its slide, kayaks, rowboat and paddle boat. We also made use of the toy room in the basement and the air hockey table on the rainy and cool day (used the hot tub too). The kitchen is big and the island and dining room table fit everyone when cooking and eating. There were enough beds for everyone (extra blankets and sheets if needed) and each family unit had a bathroom to themselves. Many others have commented on the spiral staircase. We definitely used the gates (1 permanent and 2 others provided) but the kids loved using that staircase to go down to the toys. When adults were carrying multiple items, we went out the kitchen/deck door and used the deck stairs to go down, or the front door and path down and around. No one was ready to leave :)
The cabin was beautiful, very clean and we fit everyone in. Enjoyed the small lake, except for the amount of lily pads, small fish. Kayaks and row boat were used and fire pits where enjoyed. Peace and quiet were an added extra. Thank you.
The house was perfect for a big family, lots of space to spread out and to come together. The owners were so helpful and responsive. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.
Our family had a great week-long stay at this beautiful property in the charming town of St. Germain. We loved the beautiful setting including the private, non-motorized lake and all the wildlife. The lake slide, kayaks, paddle boat and dock were used daily. We also enjoyed all of the outdoor amenities - sauna, hot tub, fire pits and seating areas.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The location was awesome. The house was very welcoming and well appointed. We had a wide rage of ages (infant to 70 yr old) everyone loved it. Our communication with owners during the stay was excellent. We would definitely
return.
Wanted a large vacation house for my kids/grand kids. It was everything we wished for. Lots of bedrooms, lots of space, sauna, hot tub, toy room for the littles, etc. Host Alex great to work with. Wouldn't hesitate to stay in same house again. Well stocked on many fronts.
This rental was even more than our group anticipated it would be! The house was super roomy and accommodating for our weekend stay on the private lake. We had everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy a fire by the pier. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends/relatives in the future! Also, the "Red, White, and Brew Company" bar upon entering the secluded area was a wonderful place to hangout with great food and service as well!
We had 23 people stay at the house and everyone had a bed to sleep in. The location was great, the layout was perfect for all the couples/families. The kids loved the access to the lake with boats, fishing etc. Location was remote but yet close to town to get anything needed. I would highly recommend this property and the owner was very good about getting back to me with any questions etc.
We will cherish our memories at this house.
12 of us -- 6 adults, 6 grandboys ages 7-16 -- really enjoyed our stay, boating, catching loads of panfish, hot tub/sauna, and especially sharing the kitchen and eating space. The front of the house has a generous asphalt-paved area that we played a lot of catch, badminton, corn hole, etc. Alex was readily available to answer questions. Thank you!!
This was our 2nd vacation at this property and we will be planning a 3rd there! Perfect for our
family of 15 ranging from 2 to 66 years old. We love the quiet little lake. So nice to canoe, paddle board, swim or just relax around the firepit. We often see deer right outside the windows. The fire heated hot tub and sauna are always a big hit. The home is very clean and the kitchen is large and well stocked. The owners are very friendly and helpful if needed. I highly recommend this property and excited to plan our next family vacation there in 2024. Linda
Great communicatiin with host! The house is fantastic for a group. We were a group of 11 Adults and 2 toddlers and 3 babies. There was plenty of room for all. Those who are more agile should choose to be on second floor that has access by the circular staircase. The hosts have outfitted the kithchen very nicely and left plenty of cupboard space to store all of our provisions. So helpful! There is plenty of refrigerator and freezer space as well. We all had a fantastic time! Our best rental house in years!! Thank you!
While we really enjoyed our stay at this property, there are a few things future vacationers should know: We weâre very excited about having a hot tub and sauna available at this location. What we did not realize is that you have to fill and heat the tub before you can use it. The tub is heated by fire stove, so it take 2 hours to heat up. You must also drain the tub when you are done. It also was not clear to us via the pictures that 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are only accessible by using the steep winding staircase (Downstiars with bathroom and pool table could also be accessed by exterior entrance). We enjoyed the fire pit by the house. There is also a fire pit down by the lake. The lake is a small, quiet lake that is great for paddle boarding and kayaking.
Perfect for a family gathering in the summer. We just wanted a long weekend getaway in the early spring, but I could see the house being the perfect summer house. House was very clean and set up to accommodate large families. Large kitchen that was well stocked with everything you might need. Nice fire pit out front that adults could gather around while kids played basketball or on the play set. There is another fire pit on the lakeside. Lovely sauna and hot tub. Kids would enjoy the basement which is set up for both young and older kids. Donât let the stairs deter you. Teens could easily get up the stairs to the two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. If the spiral staircase was intimidating to the basement the basement is still accessible by sliding doors outside, so people could go around or out the back deck to get to the basement. Very peaceful and quiet on a small lake.
We had 14 people of varying ages. The stairs going up and down are not safe for older people. One of the stair steps is broke. Kitchen could use more cooking supplies- can opener was broke, no dishcloths, numbers on stove were worn out, but plenty of glasses. Many things âbrokeâ when we were there- dishwasher shelf, front door lock. A broom or vacuum would be nice to have available. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper and soap. 2 of our bathrooms didnât have any soap and no extra toilet paper so we had to buy both in town. A few days of a handyman to fix things and update would make the price worth it.
Communication with the owner is excellent.
We stayed for 6 nights. The first morning we woke up and notice a ton of mice droppings all over the kitchen counters and floor. I contacted the owner who said they would bring some traps and were aware there was a few from doors being left open. We are country people and get it. After they dropped a few sticky traps off (we had to put out ourselves) we woke up to nothing caught and again a lot of mice droppings. We had to disinfect and lean and put away food and throw away foods. We had two small children along who couldnât run and play like they wanted because of the traps out. We took it upon ourselves to get more traps and get snap traps. We set them and the next morning woke up to 4 dead mice in the kitchen. Each day we had to clean and set them again. We were here 6 nights and caught 10 mice!!!! My husband was sitting in the kitchen and saw a mouse go between the dishwasher and kitchen counter. Honestly if we didnât have people who drove for over 12 hours to come and lose all our money we wouldâve said screw it. Also, on the deck there was a spot a chipmunk had been chewing on which became unsafe for the small children as the hole was so large. After the stay I reached out to the owner to let them know before I wrote my review. He apologized and said it was something that happens in the forest and they were going to set traps. Yâall- I live on a farm in the woods I understand things happen but this is an infestation that needs to be addressed with more than traps.
Our family has a great time here overall. The only things that were a turn off were the rooms with no blinds since we had littles and the spiral stairs to get to our some of the rooms. Other than that our family enjoyed our stay.
At this price point, I would expect comfortable beds and pillows, strong internet, working doors and windows, table and chairs at the correct height and toiletries. The pictures in the listing also make the house look far more modern than it actually is and did not show the proliferation of lily pads around the dock. On the plus side, it was clean, the hosts answered the phone quickly when we had a question, and the home was large for 6 adults and 2 kids, with lots of activities for the kids.
Our family enjoyed this cabin so much! Our age group range was 1-59yrs old and everyone enjoyed it as much. The rooms and bedding were very clean, plenty of parking space, cookware, lounging areas, activities, so many amenities! Sad we had to leave after our 3 night stay but highly recommended!
We are family of 5 with 3 kids: 6, 5 and 1 year old. We like family getaways and always enjoy family time spent on the lakes what brought us to the idea of owning a vacation house. We fell in love with this beautiful house at the first look and we are happy to spend every moment we are free from our jobs at the house. Spending time outside: exploring the trails, playing, fishing, boating, and many more things to do around makes us all happy.
