Our stay was fabulous! The location couldnât be better - totally walkable to everything downtown Santa Barbara has to offer. The house itself is so charming. Itâs an older home that has been updated with features that still match the charm of the home but also make for a comfortable stay. The backyard space is so wonderful for families. 10/10 would stay here again!
The location is perfect. A few minutes walk to the pier, marina, Cabrillo Blvd. promenade, State Street and the Funk Zone. The neighborhood is quiet. the house is lovely - exactly as advertised. My family and I would gladly stay here again.
It was great! Took the train to SB and the house was a block from the train station and 2 blocks from the beach. Perfect location surrounded by a ton of great restaurants.
We often visit SB⊠this home was beautiful with the best location we have stayed. Walking distance to State St with shops and restaurants.. and a quick walk to the pier and beach. Perfect !
Diane was a great host and kept us informed about the house. This house is absolutely adorable. It has a small yard for kids to play and a table, chairs and furniture. Itâs just a few blocks from the Pier, beach and restaurants, an easy walk. Weâll definitely be back!
Visited with family to enjoy 4th of July on the beach in SB, the location was unbeatable. This cottage felt like taking as step back in time and was meticulously maintained, absolutely loved it. The garden in the back allowed for our children to take breaks for beach play but continue to enjoy plenty of outdoor time while we decompressed from outings. Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay. The property couldn't be more conveniently located, the backyard is beautiful and the host was very communicative and available as needed. We recommend it highly!
This is the rare property that truly feels like you are âhomeâ when you arrive. Whether a weekend stay, or a week long stay, everything you need is at hand. Diane was incredible to work with, and the property location is ideal for walking as well as peace and quiet. We will return!
Adorable house near everything. The yard was lovely with beautiful flowers & orange trees! If we ever make it back to Santa Barbara you will find us here.
We are three retired work friends who visit Santa Barbara often. This was one of our most favorite stays! Perfectly walkable location, comfortable beds, lovely backyard areas, and quiet privacy. Off street parking was a plus as we hardly used the car! Thank you for providing such a wonderful spot for us to celebrate.
We loved our stay at the house. It was just as described on VRBO. The kitchen was well set up and had some basics like salt pepper and spices which was nice. The location was perfect! It's just a block from the beach and all the great spots in town. The communication was excellent. Thanks for a great stay.
The location and adorable neighborhood are the standouts to this quaint little bungalow. Super close to the the beach and the Funk Zone. The house was immaculate, although it did have a bit of a musty smell to it. The yard is cute and inviting, but we didn't use it on account of the cold weather. The bedrooms and bathroom are VERY tiny, and the shower pressure is disappointing, but the beds are comfy and there are plenty of extra pillows. I might suggest upgrading the bath towels for a more luxe experience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in beautiful Santa Barbara!
Overall the house was nice, clean and the beds were comfortable.
Some things to note if youâre looking for a quiet place to stay like I alway am. There is a train nearby that you can hear the horn during the overnight hours. For one of our nights there was a crazy loud party somewhere that sounded like a nightclub in the house. The only saving grace was they shut off my 10pm.
These two things are not within the property owners control but it is good to note this because I live in an area that has horrible loud parties like this and when I vacation I want to get away from it completely.
The owner was very nice and responsive when I had questions. I would definitely pick this place again if I had to stay in SB.
A really lovely place in a great location. Loved the outdoor space, watching the hummingbirds feed and we even picked ourselves some fresh oranges from the trees. Would love to come back again.
A very cute property in a great location of Santa Barbara, you can walk to everything. Beds were comfy and we had everything we needed for a lovely stay in SB. The outdoor space is really nice. Garden areas and back fence could use a little cleanup but overall, very nice.
Dianes place is so incredibly close to everything wonderful. Walking distance from the beach in a quiet, peaceful little neighborhood. She was super fast to respond to any questions we had and was extremely accommodating. I will definitely book this property again!
My sister and I decided on a getaway to Santa Barbara to celebrate our milestone birthdays. I wanted something reasonably priced that had good walkability to the beach and into town for dining. Casa Capricho fit our wishes perfectly! We appreciated the attention to detail and cleanliness. Checkin/out was easy and seamless. Interactions with the proprietor were all pleasant. Although it wasn't a necessity, it was definitely a plus to be able to park in a driveway. I highly recommend this lovely cottage!
We live in Buellton, CA and have always dreamed of owning a home in Santa Barbara. We have recently retired and purchased and redid this wonderful cottage for us, our daughters, and our 8 grandchildren to use and enjoy. We love sailing off the California coast and feel so lucky when staying at Casa Capricho and being able to walk to the boat at the harbor.
We initially purchased our vacation cottage because one of our children was attending school in this location, but we quickly fell in love with this beautiful city and all of the cultural and outdoor activities that it offers.
We love the Spanish Colonial charm of our cottage, our private garden with orange trees and our quiet neighborhood. We especially love the fact that we can walk everywhere! We take daily walks along East and West Beaches to Shoreline Park or out on Stearns Wharf. We love to walk to our favorite restaurants, Brophy Brothers and Enterprise Fish Company. We often walk to the movie theaters on State Street or to the Farmer's Markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays. We walk to the Santa Barbara Sailing Center, where we can rent a sailboat by the hour or take whale watching cruises. We walk to our Athletic Club to work out, to East Beach to pay beach tennis or volley ball, or to West Beach for swimming or tennis. We often picnic at Shoreline Park. We love the proximity of Santa Barbara City College and the opportunity to take classes there. We also love all the cultural events offered at the Lobero and Granada Theaters and other venues accessible by foot. We enjoy the benefits of the activities of the Maritime Museum, the MOXY museum of science, and the Ronald Reagan Museum with all of their offerings and all within walking distance. It is truly a dream come true to spend time in this city.
