Amazing spot and great house. I will be coming back. Perfect for what we needed. We come to Charleston once a year to see friends and spend time. This house is amazing for a family and additional friends to come too.
Great location, very well equipped, parking available. Nice big kitchen with a nice big common area. We loved staying here and would love to come back again.
Stayed here for a girls weekend with the six of us. Plenty of room to spread out and three bathrooms to get ready in. Our host James was very accommodating and informative. The house is so cute and the neighborhood has some great walkable restaurants and parks nearby.
My family and I enjoyed a long weekend at this property. The house is nicely located and walkable to many parks and restaurants. The host was very kind and accommodating, really went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.
Great location for eating and bar hopping on a kings Street! Place was extremely clean and all appliances worked great! Large space and great for social gatherings!
First visit to Charleston. Liked the quiet neighborhood, very peaceful in the morning and at night, but 10 min or less to just about everything.
Owner communicated very well, super easy process.
We had the best experience with both the host and the house. The host was always quick to respond and the house was even better and more spacious than the photos. It was very clean, fully stocked and in a super cute area of town. Every single bed was extremely comfortable too. I will definitely be staying here again!
My family and I were visiting Charlestown for our cousins wedding. We had a great time exploring the city and had a beautiful home to come back to and relax. James was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Check in and check out was quick and simple. We were all extremely happy with our stay and would happily book again.
We had 6 women and it was very comfortable and spacious. If more than 2 people had trouble doing stairs if could be challenging as there is 1 BR on main floor. It worked great for us. Located in a wonderful neighborhood; we were able to walk to several wonderful restaurants. A very walkable neighborhood; close to large park. We enjoyed sitting on porch in evenings.
We had a fantastic time staying at the Lord Ashley! The accommodations including the bedrooms and bathrooms were in great condition. The kitchen is very well stocked with different appliances, cookware, and cooking items ie. foil, Pam, oil, etc. We were provided with a bag of ice, which was a nice touch. We had a toddler with us and he enjoyed the high chair and pack n play that were provided by the host. We also appreciated the view from the deck to the park across the street.
We had a wonderful time!
Mother daughter trip for my girls sweet 16. The house was so close to everything. We walked to several places close, spent a day in Sullivanâs island. The house is huge! The girls enjoyed their separate suite downstairs. Lots of seperate places for all ages!! A trip to never forget!!
We loved our stay at "Lord Ashley". James was very responsive to the minor questions we had about the property. The dishwasher door was the only item that I would say should be fixed as it could cause a safety issue as it is a heavy dishwasher door and the hinge is broken causing it to fall quicker than a user would expect. All the other appliance were top of the line and large which was great for us as we prepared a Thanksgiving meal and had lots of left overs etc. Plenty of parking was also available which is important in Charleston. We will definitely rent this house from James!
My sons, their spouses and I were in town from multiple states for a family wedding. We found a gem in this house! Location was ideal for all of our adventures, and a short Uber ride to the events venues. Less than 1/2 hour to Folly beach, several plantation sites, Mt. Pleasant and Shem Creek...and within walking to King Street/shopping/the Citadel, etc. The house itself is very well equipped with plenty of linens, comfortable beds, beautiful kitchen w/high end appliances, and lots of room to spread out. It has a lovely side porch and a separate patio for morning coffee, evening cocktails or just reading a book or napping. James is so responsive and helpful! We would absolutely stay here again! Happy Travels!
Love this house! Very well appointed, terrific kitchen, great flow, charming neighborhood. Very accommodating for our large teenagers. The porch a coveted hang out spot.
My friends and I went for a girlsâ getaway- first time in this city. This house was perfect for us. We liked the layout of the place, the charm, and how it was a ten minute drive to King Street. The host James was amazing. He was responsive and helpful with recommendations. He asked for our ETA and then went over to the house to turn on the porch light for us. He was an attentive host and you can tell he takes pride in his property. We highly recommend this host and place.
We enjoyed our stay at this house. Great set up with 4 rooms and plenty of room for 6 of us. Well equipped kitchen with all rhe amenities and comfortable living room and porch. Appreciated the great communication and area recommendations. Definitely recommend this house. About 2 miles from the French Quarter and all the sights.
A group of 7 college girlfriends turning 60 just stayed at this beautiful home and had a wonderful vacation. It was very comfortable, has a great porch and back patio, is located just far away but also close enough to the downtown area and the host James was so accommodating. He quickly answered any questions before and during our stay. Highly recommend this great property if you're ever visiting Charleston.
Beautiful home on a quiet and small family friendly park
We had the best stay at the Lord Ashley in October. James was the kindest host and was even able to accommodate our early check in and check out time due to delayed and changed flights. The house was in perfect shape and had everything we needed. The perfect stay while in Charleston!
We loved all the space in the house, the cleanliness, and the very well stocked kitchen. Lots of wonderful restaurants within walking distance, walk to the free downtown shuttle. I'd stay here again if it wasn't for the horrendous cross country trip to get there! ALso loved having the little park across the street. Would recommend to friends.
We rented this property for a bachelorette party with 7 girls and had a great stay. James was incredibly friendly and even let us extend our check out time because we had flights to catch later in the day. The house was adorable and everything was very clean. I would highly recommend this house for larger groups. My only suggestion is to add a floor length mirror upstairs.
Born and raised in Charleston, SC, I started off as an S.O.B., South Of Broad :) I now live further up the peninsula in Hampton Park Terrace, which I adore. With its leafy streets and neighborhood vibrancy, I love staying close to home enjoying all the new local restaurants and bars. I've been lucky enough to live abroad, travelling the world teaching ESL, surfing and falling in love with various cities, but I still consider Charleston one of the most beautiful and charming I've ever seen!
I fell in love with this quintessential Arts and Crafts era home the second I saw it. The open floor plan and sunlit rooms immediately won me over. But my favorite part is the glorious little park it sits directly on. There's nothing better than waking up on a spring day in Charleston and being able to sip my morning coffee over-looking the flowing fountain and grand live oak trees from my porch.
