Carriage House à 21 East Battery
Les intérieurs spacieux du Carriage House sont dotés de poutres apparentes d'origine, de sols en pin cœur et d'un balcon au deuxième étage avec vue sur le port de Charleston. Le mobilier comprend des antiquités attrayantes ainsi que des canapés confortables et une literie de luxe pour un séjour reposant à Charleston. A step back in time

Our stay at the carriage house was amazing, from the location to the wonderful baked goods Julie provided. We were immersed in history as we toured Ft Sumter and Boone Hall Plantation. The location was directly on the bay and in walking distance to a lot of good restaurants. Julie was a fabulous host and, as mentioned before a wonderful baker. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Fantastic accommodations in the historic district

The location is great: across the street from the battery boardwalk along Charleston Bay. The Carriage House is set back off the street behind a giant live oak; street noise is essentially absent. It is only 0.5-0.75 miles to exceptional restaurants and the Market Street market which extends for many blocks. The Carriage House itself is maintained remarkably well, and feels luxurious. It was truly a privilege to stay for six days in a Carriage House that is a special part of Charleston’s history. Our hostess, Julie, contacted us daily to see if we needed anything. In addition, she provided yogurt, fresh fruit, breakfast egg casseroles, and baked exquisite blueberry muffins and lemon pound cake. In summary, the Carriage House and Julie were both unique.

Heaven with history

Beautiful, large property appointed with lovely antiques. Best bed, towels, breakfast and host ever. We were totally pampered. The location could not have been better with a view of the river, easy walking distance to the historic center and a museum house right on property! The tour was great and got right into the swing of this historic city. We will definitely retur, God willing and the creeks don’t rise.

Perfect Spot

Beautiful carriage house and property. The Innkeeper Julie was perfect at her job, providing wonderful baked goods and being on top of everything one might need. The location couldn't be better with easy walks to historical sights and restaurants. The included tour of the Edmonston-Alston House was fascinating and very well run!

My stay was very good. The host provided excellent breakfast. The place was very clean. My only complaint is that the TV was impossible for me to operate. It would have been nice to have some instructions on how to navigate to something I’d like to watch. An instruction sheet would have been nice.

Great location. Julie was marvelous! Cake and breakfast dishes were excellent ! Clean, very nicely renovated with homely feel. Although the Carriage House only has one bedroom there is a pull out couch on second floor that worked great for us. Highly recommend

So charming!!

Julie is so welcoming and helpful. The carriage house is incredible and I loved getting to play the baby grande piano! What an exquisite experience… especially being walking distance to so many things, and getting to enjoy the view of the sea from the balcony!

Excellent visit to Charleston

We had a wonderful 4 night stay. The Carriage house had an amazing location. Very comfortable bed and accommodations. Julie was great and prepared a wonderful breakfast for us each morning. Daily housekeeping was also a big plus. One item to add, which is not in the online listing, is that there is a very nice half bath on the first floor. We will definitely return.

Wonderful stay in Charleston

My husband and I have traveled to Charleston several times over the years, and this was the best stay yet. We felt so special staying in an historic carriage house which was so comfortable and just top-notch. Julie is so kind and what a cook! It was a delight to return at the end of the day to see what breakfast treat she had left for us. There is parking on site- we left our car and never used it during our stay, given the fantastic location. There is room for 4 people, if you don’t mind sharing the shower (there is a half bath on lower level) but the two of us enjoyed all the various places to spread out, including the private balcony overlooking the grounds. This will definitely be our go-to place when we return to Charleston-hopefully soon!

Magnificent

This carriage house has SO much character and charm and is off the beaten path. This makes it feel even more cozy and relaxing. It is walkable to everything and the perfect spot to enjoy the history and elegance of Charleston. Julie was incredibly warm and welcoming..she makes a delicious breakfast complete with fresh orange juice and the muffins she makes are unbelievable! You can tell she loves her job and truly enjoys hosting this amazing property The carriage house was spotless and the bed was just perfect …It had everything we could want and we felt quite spoiled! Make sure to tour the home on the property, so very interesting!

The Perfect Place

This was my first time visiting Charleston and we could not have found a better place. The location was perfect and the carriage house was straight out of a postcard. The innkeeper Julie went above and beyond! We had the most delicious muffins and treats waiting for us upon check-in (and restocked during our stay). Simply can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was!
